It was surprisingly bad at this before, for some interesting, complex reasons. Now it's better! 3/ Long convo loading: Long conversations load and run faster on Less waiting = better. 4/ 'No internet' errors: We show clearer updates in the UI when you’re waiting for an internet connection. Rich formatting in our web composer – When you paste in emails or documents, our composer will retain the formatting; copying and pasting is so common, we should have done this a while ago! 2/ Updated model for paid users – GPT 5.6 Sol is more consistent across quick chats and deeper reasoning. You'll now get a slider that lets you choose how much thought ChatGPT puts into a response. The haptics (vibrations) on mobile slider are fun! 3/ Unlimited text messages - Free users will get GPT 5.6 Luna with unlimited text messages. More intelligence for all. Rolling out soon. 4/ Fast Android Camera – We've made it a lot faster on Android to tap "camera" in ChatGPT to take a new photo and ask a question. 5/ Voice x Files - You can now upload files and ask questions in our new ChatGPT voice experience powered by GPT-Live. I'm not an engineer, but I rebuilt Savee —... the app a million designers use Friday, 5pm. I asked Claude how much work it would take to rebuild our iOS app fully native. It had been sitting on our someday list for years, waiting for a team we didn't have. I stopped waiting and built it myself — a designer with Claude Code, one feature at a time. Claude wrote the Swift; I answered with the feedback designers give: two points left, lighter tint, that corner radius is wrong. Another round. And another. 33 days from the first prompt to live on the App Store. 1,078 prompts. Three releases in the first week. Something changed for designers. Microsoft is testing a new feature in Windows 11... called Low Latency Profile that gives a short boost to your CPU for 1 to 3 seconds when you open apps or menus. Early tests show Microsoft apps like Edge and Outlook open up to 40% faster, while the Start menu and other menus can load up to 70% faster, with CPU use jumping high for a few seconds then dropping right back down. Microsoft says this is normal because Apple does it in macOS and Linux, plus phones use the same type of quick CPU boosts for better speed. The feature is only in early Insider testing now, so it is not out for everyone yet.show more

This is quite funny. We're visiting Kamakura in Japan... and we came across a large group of Chinese tourists in a place that, at first glance, looked nothing special. Turns out that this very spot is one of THE most iconic locations in Japan for Chinese people who grew up in the 1990s. Why? Because in the 1990s there was this Japanese basketball manga called "slam dunk" that every kid was watching in China, and the opening credits featured an image of this very spot: a railroad crossing on a small street leading to the beach in Kamakura. Apparently this place is so popular with Chinese tourists that they had to cordon it off at some point. Now it's obviously reopened with 3 guards assigned to handle the traffic. And now that they've heard about it, it's my daughters' turn to be hooked on the series so maybe in 20 years' time they'll be perpetuating the passion and come back to this "Slam Dunk" shrine ☺️show more

DAY 3 Sunny Hill Festival ❤️ Unbelievable, unbelievable scenes... There really aren't words for the joy, pride, and gratitude we feel getting to put this festival on for our city with our family. The amount of work that goes into making it happen is honestly hard to comprehend, but every single second is worth it when we get to stand on that hill and see all of you together. I tried to steal a few quiet moments to take it all in, and it hit me just how special this has become. Somehow, every year, it just keeps getting better. i was traveling for 2 years and taking long... haul flights every few months - i didn’t realize it was ruining my skin i was super self conscious and it took 6 months to get my skin back on track once i got home the derm who helped me gave me this routine & now i do it on every long flight- you can stay in your seat and it’s 4 (cheap) products. i see a huge difference the week after flying hope this is helpful to any gals traveling back from devconnect this weekend❤️ and drink lots of water! ps. this was inspired by all the SheFi creators we spoke to this weekend about making fun videos😚show more

In addition, our panel line was SO long that staff had to cut it off because we were at MAX capacity!!!! Astra (GPT-6) is here!!! I've had early access and... tested it like crazy with things like games, code, writing, browser control, presentations and general knowledge work. This is the best model I've ever used. Period. (Incredible demos below in this thread ⬇️) Here's my take on Astra: > It's insanely capable. This feels like a massive improvement, not just an incremental change. This is especially true with zero-shot prompts. > It's all about knowledge work. Slide creation, analysis, writing, and browser control. And oh my...it's so good at browser control. GPT-5.6 was already fantastic at doing things in the browser, Astra is another level and significantly faster. > We're closer than ever (arrived?) at prompt-to-playable game. And I don't just mean only playable, these are actually fun games. I bet if someone with a great eye for games used Astra, they could create a viral game within 1-2 weeks. > Astra is better at writing but not perfect. It removes much of the "AI Smell" we're all familiar with but some stink still survived. > It has a tendency to use the same design colors and look/feel as GPT-5.6 (forrest green anyone?) but it is more steerable in design than previous models. > It's highly steerable in general. A little nudge goes a long way. When I first started using Astra, almost every task I gave it would go for ~30 minutes. I wanted it to keep working. Adding more specifics to a prompt helped greatly with it's ability to work for a long time. > Astra's 3D understanding is unmatched. 3D asset creation was consistent and easy and its spacial awareness while building complex 3D worlds blew me away.
