When already in the intersection behind a lead car, you are expected to close the gap and clear the turn together once opposing traffic stops, even if the light turns red. FSD 12.5 runs a red light I want to... share this to have a healthy discussion regarding this situation. This isn't in anyway an attempt to hate on FSD 12.5, I still believe this is the best release of FSD so far. Yesterday on my drive FSD for the first time ever (for me) decided to proceed on a VERY stale (red?) light. I was a bit surprised about its decision to do this, and I am wondering if perhaps the traffic light being set back (before the intersection starts there's a light on my left) has anything to do with this? Technically the car passes the light/stop line as it is still yellow. As a human driver I may have proceeded on this light if I was in a rush, but I am not sure if a robotaxi should make that same decision. First safety intervention I’ve had to make on FSD... v14 in about 1300 miles. During an unprotected left, FSD began the turn but hesitated and paused mid lane. I pressed the accelerator to clear before an oncoming vehicle would have had to stop. Unprotected left turns are still not fully solved and are one of the few situations that still get my heart rate up.show more

There is zero room for error here. 😬 The... ability for FSD v12.3 to judge if an opposing car is going to stop or go on a yellow light is exceptional. I’ve noticed a new behavior in FSD version 14.2.2.2:... when approaching an intersection from a single dedicated left-turn lane, the car occasionally completes the turn into the second lane from the left rather than the leftmost lane, which is what most drivers typically do. Interestingly it is legal to do so in California.show more

In Belgium, you’re legally required to stay in the... right lane on highways when there’s no traffic. Many drivers ignore this and hog the middle or left lane like seen in this video and yes, you can get fined for it. Tesla FSD does it perfectly: it automatically merges back to the right when the lane is clear. Overtaking on the right is strictly forbidden (with even bigger fines)show more

Tesla giving FSD 14.3.3 driving modes names like “Sloth”... and “Mad Max” is hilarious until you actually watch the difference. Choose from Sloth, Chill, Standard, Hurry, and Mad Max modes. And yes, Mad Max drives exactly how the name sounds: confident lane changes, aggressive merging, faster traffic flow, and decisive movement through busy streets. Older FSD versions sometimes drove like a nervous student seeing traffic for the first time. Mad Max feels like FSD drank espresso and finally trusts itself. The weird part? FSD changes lanes mid-turn at intersection with two left-turn... lanes. This happened a couple times with v14.3.3 and now with v14.3.4. This driver is trying to ma a left turn... and the car on the opposite side stops and makes a path for them to turn. As the car starts to turn, an electric bike in the bike lane comes speeding down and well, as you can see, smashes into the car and flips over the front. Luckily he gets up and is walking. He could have been seriously injured. To me, this is quite literally why they say you’re not supposed to just stop in the middle of a street to let someone turn. Some are saying it’s the red car’s fault for stopping and letting the driver turn. Others are saying in their state, an electric bike is like a motorcycle and has to obey the traffic laws. Who is at fault? Do you think the electric bike should have been in the bike lane traveling that fast? The red car for letting the car turn left when it can’t see, or is it the drivers responsibility to make sure all is clear before proceeding?show more

Driving behind a car that suddenly starts reversing because... someone in front wants to park. The guy in front reversed pretty fast, so I almost overtook, but FSD automatically reversed too. When there was enough space to park, the car in front kept reversing… I panicked, honked, and then realised FSD was stopping for a cyclist behind me and still handling it perfectly and even backing up more after the cyclist has passed. #Tesla #FSD #knokkeshow more
