If Reform UK were consistent, they would expel Neil for this. Dryden Road in Exeter was closed to motorists permanently in 2022, to try to reduce traffic and create a safer cycling route. On his YouTube podcast, Stevens stated that Councillors Ed Hill and Angi Nash “will always support” reopening Dryden Road. Neither of the two councillors he spoke for were present on his podcast or had authorised him to speak for them. Both have since issued statements. It’s important to note that Reform UK expelled Ed Hill earlier this year on the grounds that he had “used other councillors’ names without permission.” Will Reform expel Neil Stevens? There is a legal issue here - predetermination. A councillor openly saying on camera that another “will always support” a specific outcome means they cannot lawfully take part in a decision on it in the council chamber. Then on a very dark day for South Africa, on the 29 February 2024, when a motion of no confidence was to be passed against the EFF puppet mayor, when the EFF saw they were going to lose, one of the most violent displays by politicians in democratic South Africa was shown live on TV prime time. When the EFF bashed, thrashed other councillors, they swore, they threw papers and in that fracas an EFF councillor was caught stealing the mayors phone. They are thieves thru and thru. Today in Lagos State, yet again, we witnessed an... ugly but all-too-familiar scene: thugs allegedly sponsored and elements of the police working not to protect the people, but to intimidate, harass, and silence them. During GRV’s event, what should have been a peaceful democratic gathering turned into a targeted attempt to suppress free expression and political participation. Yet, in the face of fear and violence, brave Nigerians stood tall. We are immensely proud of those citizens who acted with courage and unity to protect one another and ensure GRV and his supporters were escorted to safety. This is the spirit of true democracy the will of the people refusing to be broken. But we must say this clearly and without apology: the use of violence, intimidation, and state-backed thuggery to undermine political opposition is a stain on Lagos State’s democratic record. This same pattern played out during the last elections, where voters were attacked, threatened, and in some cases injured simply for supporting the candidate of their choice. Today, the 11-day sit-in protest by the families of forcibly disappeared Baloch individuals was attacked by the forces when they were marching towards the Red Zone. Elderly men, women, and children were subjected to brutal violence, including live firing. Dozens of protesters were taken into custody and shifted to unknown locations. For decades, the state institutions' response to peaceful demonstrations has been violence and intimidation. The forced disappearances and genocide of the Baloch people continue, and when the families and civil society protest, they are treated with cruelty, beaten, dragged, and imprisoned. After facing severe crackdown, the protesters have reorganized and continued their protest. We urge the Baloch and Pashtun people to join the protest as soon as possible and call on the judiciary to intervene in this matter to safeguard the right to peaceful assembly of these already victimized people.show more

Cilliers Brink Tshwane Metro Police The illegal tap at the council ablution block at the CBD, was reported to the City of Tshwane on numerous occasions, to various departments. It was reported more than a year ago to TMPD at a community meeting. It was also reported to the City Manager's office, Group property, the then MMC of Finance Peter Sutton, MMC for Utilities Temba Fosi and the water and sanitation department. Each department promised to have the tap removed but two years later, still nothing. People from outside the ward are using this tap on weekends for their homes and business uses. Taxis use this tap to wash their vehicles. The overflow of this water is going to cause a sinkhole. As usual, complaints are falling on deaf ears and the City of Tshwane continues to fail its residents. Today, once again, it was brought to our attention by Yusuf Abramjee. Earlier today, the crew from Tower 18 responded to... a motor vehicle accident on C-470. Two people were transported from the scene for medical care, but they weren’t the only passengers involved. Two dogs were also in the vehicle and, thankfully, they were not injured.
