Five people were injured after a shooting this evening... in Northeast DC, making this DC’s first mass shooting less than 72 hours into the New Year. DC Police were called out just before 8:20pm to the 1500 block of Harry Thomas Way NE in Eckington DC. On scene, a female and two men were found injured… they are all last reported to be conscious. Police are determining if one of the people were shot or injured by glass from the gunfire. Additionally, two men showed up at a hospital with gunshot wounds. All vehicles, including ours, were completely stuck, and it was extremely difficult to make way for the ambulance. In such critical moments, a patient inside the ambulance can lose the battle of life due to a few minutes of delay. At the same time, it can clearly be seen that the BRT route was entirely empty. Therefore, we strongly request you ,the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the concerned authorities to allow ambulances to use the BRT route (BRT lane) in emergency situations, so that they can reach hospitals quickly and save precious human lives. This lady was filming these parents who were in... the car line at school 2 1/2 hours before school gets out. She says don’t be like them. But many people said it’s worth not having to deal with the traffic and backup and some parents may work closer to the school and it beats driving all the way back home and then coming back. I have been known to go get in line at the school about an hour before they get out so I can beat it as well. Sometimes I’ll catch up on emails, phone calls and even take a nap.
