This is the kind of project that quietly changes... an industry. Instead of using traditional slicers, this creator built an app that converts hand-drawn curves directly into printable G-code for spiral vase mode prints. App → G-code → Print. - No complicated workflow. - No heavy setup. - Just turning ideas into physical objects almost instantly. The interesting part isn’t just the print quality. It’s how tools are becoming so simple that more people can create complex things without needing advanced technical knowledge. Would tools like this make 3D printing finally mainstream? 🎥 Media: ( Instagram ) ⚠️ This content is shared for informational purposes only. i spent $26,600 on cloud GPU rentals over 14... months before i found a NVIDIA DGX Spark at $2,999 (founder's edition) or $3,999 (shipping price) it paid for itself in 6 weeks i run 200B parameter models locally now and my old cloud provider keeps sending me loyalty discount emails the math on that $26,600 is embarrassing to type out loud $1,900/month for 14 months, H100 instances on a specialist cloud provider, because anything bigger than a 70B model simply would not fit anywhere else i paid the invoices like they were a utility bill and told myself it was just the cost of doing serious AI work it took me over a year to find out it wasn't 14 months, broken down: → months 1-4: $1,400-1,600/month - felt like manageable infrastructure overhead → months 5-9: crept to $1,900-2,100 as i started running DeepSeek-class experiments, costs tracking directly with model size → months 10-12: one agent loop ran for 36 hours against a 130B model while i slept, that month hit $2,400 → month 13: ran the cumulative total for the first time, saw $23,800, felt physically sick → month 14: another $2,800 month while i waited for the hardware to ship the box is the NVIDIA DGX Spark - roughly the footprint of a large mac mini, powered by a GB10 Grace Blackwell chip with 128GB of unified LPDDR5X memory that unified memory is the whole thing an RTX 4090 has 24GB of VRAM, which means a 70B model in full BF16 precision physically does not fit, you're quantizing down or you're renting cloud, those are your options this box loads a 200B parameter model quantized and serves it through vLLM over localhost, same API interface the cloud endpoint used the migration took one line of code - i changed the base URL from the provider's endpoint to 127.0.0.1:8000 and everything just worked electricity to run continuous 200B inference locally comes out to about $12/month the payback arithmetic is almost too clean: $2,999 hardware cost against $1,900/month saved, the box paid for itself before i'd owned it two months what i didn't account for was how completely the cost model changes your behavior when there's no hourly meter running, you greenlight experiments you'd never approve on cloud - agent loops that churn for hours, running 10,000 documents through a reasoning pass at 3am, speculative fine-tuning jobs you'd normally skip because the cost felt unjustifiable i ran more experiments in the first 30 days after the box arrived than in the four months before it the loyalty discount email landed about 8 weeks after i cancelled the cloud subscription 15% off my next three months, valued customer, we'd love to have you back i didn't reply the box was already runningshow more

While learning Unreal Engine 5, I decided to port... over most of Hyperion to it to see if I could potentially move my workflows over to UE5. Although it worked decently well, it didn't work well enough to allow me to change over entirely. Hyperion is simply too complex of an asset for real-time workflows (or at least is limited due to my knowledge of said workflows). 131 4K-8K UDIMs at over 8 channels and a solid amount of shaders with layering being the biggest bottleneck. I couldn't even match the shading setup to what I have in RenderMan, UE gave me a warning that the material was too complex. I was using the new Substrate materials, which mimic RenderMan LAMA shaders. The render below is using the pathtracer. As you can see there are some random flickering parts which I couldn't fix during my tests. This render of course doesn't have any displacement either (which Hyperion heavily relies on). I think Unreal Engine has a very bright future, but it is still limited by todays hardware technology for high end VFX work. Maybe in a few years I will give it another try when hardware improves and the engine becomes a bit more versatile in feature-set.show more

The Visual Studio Code insiders version that just shipped... and will ship in the next few days will come with an insane amount of new capabilities. A few highlights: - You can now run sub-agents in parallel. Yes, really. I even attached a video. - Major UX improvements for sub agents, especially visible in the chat window - A new search tool wrapped as a sub-agent that iteratively runs multiple search tools: semantic_search, file_search, grep_search Which connects nicely to the point above: multiple searches running in parallel, efficiently and fast - Anthropic’s Message API is now enabled by default - You can choose the model for the cloud agent (three available, all premium) - Extended thinking support when using the Claude cloud agent This is part of the broader multi-vendor cloud support under AgentsHQ I wrote about a few weeks ago - Tasks sent to the background agent (basically the CLI tool) now always run in isolation, each with its own git worktree - In a multi-repo workspace, assigning a task to a cloud agent prompts you to choose the target repo Same behavior when opening an empty workspace with no repo - Support for building an external index for files not supported by GitHub’s default indexing - UI/UX improvements for starting new sessions and switching between local / background / cloud agents - Skills are now first-class citizens, just like prompt files, with better UX indicating when a skill is loaded - Improved API for dynamic contribution of prompt files New V2 includes skills as part of the model. Curious to see the extensions that will leverage this - Finally, initial support for showing context usage percentage per session - Skills are enabled by default - Resizable chat window and session view. Small thing, but it was driving me crazy 😁 - A new integrated browser meant to replace the old simple browser Maybe the beginning of real browser use? - Better UI/UX for token streaming in chat - Ability to index external files not supported by GitHub There’s a lot more. Some of it hasn’t fully landed yet, but everything that has is already in Insiders. The next stable release should drop in early February. As usual, I’m just shocked by the volume of features this team ships every month. After the holiday slowdown, this one is shaping up to be a wild release.show more

I am hear to share with you of one... of my FAVORITE EVER health related tools. Blue Light Blocking Glasses. A powerful tool to block the harmful frequencies of artificial light wherever you may see it. At work on the pc, in the gym under fluorescent lights, in airports and grocery stores, in the evening when you use your phone… Wherever these eye straining lights are there, these Ra Optics glasses protect your eyes. They are developed in tandem with world leading photobiology expert, Dr. Wunsch - who I Have personally met and can confirm he is the real deal when it comes to light knowledge and the technology inside the glasses. These are not just colored lenses. What I have experienced: - Falling asleep easier - Less eye strain - Calmer mental state - Compliments on the glasses - More focus during work sessions - Less jet lag when traveling If there was one thing I would recommend you purchase to support your health in this world, these blue light blockers would be up there as some of the best. I use mine every single day and night. You can get 10% discount using my code “solbrah” - here is the link:show more

For the past few weeks I’ve been teaching 50+... kids how to create their own games with AI. The results have been incredible 🤯 I started with my 5 y/o nephew because I was worried about him spending hours doomscrolling and consuming brainrot content. He built his first game using v0, though I had to walk him through each step. Watching kids interact with these tools taught me so much about how they think, where they get stuck, and what keeps them motivated. The moment that really struck me came right after he finished that first game. Every time I saw him afterward, he’d run up and ask, “Did you bring your laptop so I can keep playing?”. For him, “playing” meant creating. That kind of excitement is organic pull. Don’t get me wrong, I love v0 and Lovable. They’re insanely powerful. Their UIs just aren’t designed for kids, and that’s totally fine. Kids still need guidance, structure, and a bit of tutoring to turn ideas into something playable. I’m seeing tech leaders push in this direction too, and I think there’s a real opportunity here (Matias Woloski Thomas Wolf). Kids are the future, and I don’t want to live in a world where they spend precious time consuming instead of creating. That’s why I love tools like v0, Lovable, wabi , Cursor . They’re empowering more people to become creators. I want that same feeling for kids. What Guillermo is saying is real. Kids need to be AI-literate from the outset. It honestly makes me sad to think about my nephew growing up and falling behind on AI and everything happening around him because he’s stuck in Roblox or TikTok. That’s why I built Rabbit 🐰 for him. It started as a simple prototype, but somehow I ended up talking with 200+ parents and kids, tech leaders, investors, and people I never imagined meeting around the world. Rabbit now has 100+ people on the waitlist, and 10 kids are using it two to three times per week on average to create their own games 🫡 I’m not sure yet if this will become my full-time project, but I deeply care about it. If you’re building in this space, I’d love to connect and share ideas. And if you’re a parent interested in Rabbit, I’d love your feedback. Sharing a short video of kids using Rabbit below:show more

🚨 Scientists are building panels that create hydrogen fuel... directly from sunlight and water. No power grid. No traditional electrolysis. Just light triggering chemistry. Researchers are developing “photoreactor panels” that use photocatalysts to split water molecules directly into hydrogen and oxygen using sunlight alone. The reaction: 2H₂O → 2H₂ + O₂ Instead of: sunlight → electricity → electrolysis → hydrogen they’re attempting: sunlight → hydrogen directly The idea mimics artificial photosynthesis. Special semiconductor materials absorb photons, excite electrons, and drive water splitting chemically without first generating usable electrical current. Why this matters: • decentralized fuel production • off-grid hydrogen generation • cleaner shipping + heavy industry • lower infrastructure costs • potentially massive carbon reduction And this isn’t just theory anymore. A working one-square-meter prototype has already been demonstrated publicly. The bigger shift: Humanity may be moving toward systems where materials don’t just store energy… they directly transform sunlight into usable fuel in one continuous physical process. The boundary between “solar panel” and “chemical reactor” is starting to disappear. If this scales successfully, it could completely reshape the hydrogen economy. Would you trust your house, car, or city running on sunlight-made hydrogen? Follow for more future-tech breakthroughs where physics becomes infrastructure.show more

🚨 SCIENTISTS JUST DEVELOPED A SOLAR DESALINATION SYSTEM THAT... PRODUCES FRESH WATER WITHOUT CHEMICALS OR BRINE WASTE. Researchers at the University of Rochester have created laser-etched solar panels that turn seawater into drinking water using only sunlight with no chemical additives and no toxic brine discharge. The panels are treated with femtosecond lasers to become super light-absorbing and superwicking. Seawater spreads into an ultra-thin layer, evaporates rapidly under sunlight, and the leftover salts are pushed to passive regions via the “coffee ring effect,” keeping the active area clean and functional. Why this matters: • Conventional desalination produces massive amounts of harmful brine and requires heavy chemical treatment • This new approach leaves behind solid salt instead of liquid waste • It was successfully tested on real seawater from the Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans • The same system can potentially extract valuable minerals like lithium from the collected salts The deeper implication: Desalination has always faced a brutal trade-off: clean water at the cost of environmental damage and high energy use. This research points toward a future where solar-powered systems could produce fresh water while actually recovering critical resources instead of creating pollution. It’s still early-stage, but the combination of low energy use, no brine, and mineral recovery makes this one of the more promising sustainable desalination concepts in development. Would you rather see massive traditional desalination plants… or distributed solar systems that turn seawater into both water and critical minerals? Follow for more frontier clean tech and materials science that could reshape how we solve resource challenges.show more

Introducing Pods Hyperspace Pods lets a small group of... people - a family, a startup, a few friends, to pool their laptops and desktops into one AI cluster. Everyone installs the CLI, someone creates a pod, shares an invite link, and the machines form a mesh. Models like Qwen 3.5 32B or GLM-5 Turbo that need more memory than any single laptop has get automatically sharded across the group's devices - layers split proportionally, inference pipelined through the ring. From the outside it looks like one OpenAI-compatible API endpoint with a pk_* key that drops straight into your AI tools and products. No configuration beyond pasting the key and changing the base URL. A team of five paying for cloud AI burns $500–2,000 a month on API calls. The same team's existing machines can serve Qwen 3.5 (competitive on SWE-bench) and GLM-5 Turbo (#1 on BrowseComp for tool-calling and web research) for free - the hardware is already on their desks. When a query genuinely needs a frontier model nobody has locally, the pod falls back to cloud at wholesale rates from a shared treasury. But for the daily work - code reviews, refactors, research, drafting - local models handle it and nobody gets billed. And when it is idle, you can rent out your pod on the compute marketplace, with fine-grained permissions for access management. There's no central server involved in inference. Prompts go from your machine to your pod members' machines and back: all of this enabled by the fully peer-to-peer Hyperspace network. Pod state - who's a member, which API keys are valid, how much treasury is left - is replicated across members with consensus, so the whole thing works on a local network. Members behind home routers don't need port forwarding either. The practical setup for most pods is three models covering different jobs: Qwen 3.5 32B for code and reasoning, GLM-5 Turbo for browsing and research, Gemma 4 for fast lightweight tasks. All running on hardware you already own. Pods ship today in Hyperspace v5.19. Model sharding, API keys, treasury, and Raft coordinator are all live. What Makes This Different - No middleman. Your prompts travel from your IDE to your pod members' hardware and back. There is no server in between reading your data. - No vendor lock-in. Pod membership, API keys, and treasury are replicated across your own machines using Raft consensus. If the internet goes down, your local network keeps working. There is no database in someone else's cloud that your pod depends on. - Automatic sharding. You don't configure layer ranges or calculate VRAM budgets. Tell the pod which model you want. It figures out how to split it across whatever hardware is online. - Real NAT traversal. Your friend behind a home router with a dynamic IP? Works. No VPN, no Tailscale, no port forwarding. The nodes handle it. - Free when local. This is the part that matters most. Cloud AI bills scale with usage. Pod inference on local hardware scales with nothing. The marginal cost of your 10,000th prompt is the electricity your laptop was already using. Coming soon: - Pod federation: pods form alliances with other pods. - Marketplace: pods with spare capacity can sell inference to other pods.show more

$ASI watch out! We've got more projects popping up... on Bittensor and $TAO and just starting, Akash $AKT, Shell $SHELL, Einstein-AIT $AIT, Sturdy $STRDY, Stratos $STOS and Comtensor $COMAI and more. Each pushing what's possible with AI and crypto. MyShell: $SHELL First up, MyShell is doing something amazing work. They're all about making AI chat like humans. They're using this TTS Subnet on Bittensor, powered by thier tokens, to make it happen. AI doesn't have to be complicated thing only some can use. They want everyone in on the action, making AI smarter in the process. Einstein-AIT: $AIT Then there's Einstein-AIT. Imagine this as the network's brain but on a turbocharge. It's all about math, logic, and crunching numbers. This subnet makes the whole Bittensor network sharper. They've got NumPAL, and it's like giving the AI a smarter way to think about time and dates automatically. Sturdy: $STRDY Jumping into DeFi, we've got Sturdy. These guys are on a mission to make lending and borrowing way less of a headache. They've got isolated lending pools, you can pick and choose how to manage your risks and money. And they're using some serious tech to keep your investments growing without you needing to babysit them. It's like having a smart financial assistant. Comtensor: $COMAI Comtensor is where it gets interesting. Think of it as a bridge between CommuneAI and Bittensor, kind of like the best of both worlds. It's about making sure all these AI modules and subnets can talk to each other smoothly. The goal? To boost decentralized AI by making everything more connected and smart. Stratos: $STOS Teaming up with τensorage to supercharge the $TAO ecosystem on Bittensor. Stratos is all about solid, decentralized storage - think of it as the bedrock for making sure data's not just stored but also used right . Then there’s τensorage, making sure everything AI needs is stored safe. Together, they’re making sure Bittensor's AI brainpower gets a boost, making everything faster, safer, and smoother. Akash: $AKT Compute Subnet 27 linked up with Akash. All about keeping things open-source. With Akash as a decentralized GPU provider into the mix. Giving access to top-notch AI processing power on top of Neural Internets compute-composable subnet, integrating various cloud platforms. This partnership is all about breaking away from those giants and opening the doors wide for smaller teams and startups who need this tech to innovate. Whats this all about? Making decentralized AI a something that everyone can get behind and into. Whether it's chatting with AI, boosting the network's IQ, DeFi, compute or making sure all these projects work together, it's about pushing forward. Each project has its own way of making things better, faster, and smarter for all of us. Inviting everyone to join in, contribute, and be a part of community effort to make AI not just for the few but for everyone. Credit to Mr.Franc Q for the awesome video production!show more
