Our servers were straining under the load... which is good actually, in fact it's the whole point. Even more importantly, we have already received insanely valuable feedback, bug reports, stuff people loved/hated - and it's only been a few hours since the stream ended. I can't even explain to y'all how valuable this process is. Yes it's stressful, it reminds me of trying to keep Words With Friends online during that first insane year, but it's EXACTLY what we were hoping for (NEED) to turn this into the polished, top-notch game and streaming experience we are on a mission to deliver. For context, ThousandsTV is not a twitch wrapper, it's a web3-native streaming tech stack built we built specifically to connect game, web/mobile, and blockchain together all at the same time. Viewers showed up in the stands of the arena, with connected wallets/assets, triggered actions/rallies from chat, and were seen and heard during the whole stream. - The brand new 2v2 build of Wildcard was (mostly) stable and our players and viewers seemed to be having a blast down on the field and up in the stands. It was thrilling to watch Team Blue dominate, even though Team Red held their own in game 3! - Our production crew did an insanely good job running the stream, managing the players, shoutcasters, and talent, and producing a top-notch show. Of course we will work hard to make every stream better than the last, but I was super proud of how our team "rolled with the punches" during today's event. Stuff that didn't work (and/or needs to be dramatically improved): - Although it's fun to see chat going crazy, chat spam is actually something we are passionate to FIX. As you can see from the attached video, chat spam dominated today's stream and made it impossible for anyone to even see anyone else's messages. We have some GREAT ideas for how to fix this and actually turn chat spam into a FUN and exciting and not annoying thing - but those improvements didn't get shipped in time for this event. - Credits purchasing flow needs a LOT of work. As I'm sure y'all know, bringing money on chain is pretty complicated, and although we've been working hard to make this as seamless as possible, it still needs a TON of improvements. Many users who WANTED to spend money today weren't able to and/or ran into frustrating bugs in the credit purchase flow. Fixing this is obviously a top priority for our team. - Rallies need a LOT of work. Spectator-interactive features like rallies are at the heart of our vision for Wildcard. These "stream apps", as we call them, are the UNLOCK for how spectators, viewers and fans directly connect and interact with their favorite competitors, content creators, and communities. The current rally feature HINTS at this potential, but it needs to be WAY easier to understand, use, and have fun with. Improvements are ON THE WAY. - Referees were only partially working. Referees are a key innovation of the Thousands platform. They are AI-driven "personalities" (NPCs) that pay attention to everything that's happening in the arena, both on the field and especially in the stands (i.e. in chat, during rallies, etc.) The referees then make "calls" at the end of every match, rewarding users for their engagement and participation. Unfortunately, the referees weren't fully functional and seemed to drop the ball on recognizing everyone's contributions (especially people who showed up holding valuable assets such as Wildpasses in their wallets, and people who boosted those rallies with credits.) What's happening next: 1. We are combing through ALL the logs from the event right now, to make sure we don't miss a SINGLE action that our viewers and fans took during the event, including what they brought in their wallets (i.e. Wildpass holders!), any credits that were purchased, rallies that users engaged with, etc. This information is normally processed by our referees, who then determine dynamically how they're going to distribute $WC awards. We were originally hoping to complete this process and the subsequent airdrops within a few hours after the event, but given the amount of data, we need a bit more time to run these scripts (and airdrops) in batches instead of all at once, and make sure ALL of the data is being included. IMPORTANT: I will keep y'all updated in real-time here on twitter/X as this process is ongoing, and let you know the moment it's complete and all the awards have been distributed (i.e. when to go check your wallets 😎) 2. Last night I asked Claude Code to build me... a simple script: pull on-chain data from Polymarket and sort wallets by win rate Nothing ambitious. Just wanted to see who is actually making money on 15-minute BTC markets The terminal finished in about 20 minutes. Hundreds of addresses, columns of numbers, nothing interesting And then 1 wallet caught my eye 200+ trades per day, consistent profit every week, almost surgical timing precision. I reread the line 3 times. A real person does not trade like this I fed the address back into Claude Code and asked it to break down the pattern. Half an hour later I had a full strategy reconstruction on my screen The bot (and it is definitely a bot) pings Binance and Bybit every 100ms monitoring volatility compression on BTC. When it drops below 0.08% it enters Up and Down contracts simultaneously at 25 to 35 cents each. A pure straddle. 1 side burns, the other flies to a dollar. At a 30-cent entry that is 3 to 4x per position And so it goes in circles. Dozens of times a day I sat there staring at it for about 10 minutes $13K to $25K in daily profit from a single wallet. Not a trader with intuition, not an insider with information. An algorithm that found a hole in market mechanics and methodically milks it You can check the trade history yourself: After that I went looking for whether anyone else is tracking this wallet. Why is the market selling off today? (Save this).... Today's selloff is bigger and messier than what we've seen lately, KOSPI crashed almost 11% overnight, chip stocks are getting hit everywhere and it's not because AI demand suddenly disappeared but rather a bunch of fears piling up at once that I think are getting way overplayed. Start with the AI ROI thing since it's been building since last week's earnings. Tesla and Alphabet both kicked off earnings season with big capex numbers and negative free cash flow and even with strong revenue growth both stocks got hammered. That set the tone of we don't care if capex is growing, show us the cash, and it's carrying into this week with Amazon, Meta, Microsoft and Apple all reporting, which isn't helping the nerves. But look at what actually happened with Alphabet, cloud revenue grew 81%, total sales grew 24%, that's not a company torching cash on nothing, that's a company scaling into demand it can barely keep up with. Negative free cash flow during a capex supercycle is normal, you build the data centers and buy the GPUs before the revenue shows up. Judging a buildout phase like it's a mature business is the wrong lens, and that's basically what happened last week and what's still happening today. Then there's China chip competition, which is honestly the biggest accelerant of today's move. CXMT's IPO shares rose over 466% and combined with headlines about China's homegrown DUV lithography progress, it triggered a brutal rout in Korean chipmakers, Samsung fell as much as 13%, SK Hynix over 14%, Kioxia nearly 18%, dragging the KOSPI down almost 11% and into an eighth circuit breaker this year. That spilled straight into Nvidia, ASML, Sandisk and Seagate here in the US, with Nasdaq 100 futures down over 1% before the bell. But here's the thing, five DUV units this year against ASML's 131 a year, running performance closer to a 2008 design, is not an equipment moat collapsing, it's a headline that's gotten repeated so much this week it's built its own gravity. These tools are aimed at mature nodes like automotive and industrial chips, not the leading edge logic or HBM that actually drives the AI trade, so the read through to Nvidia, ASML or Applied Materials earnings power is basically nothing. The CXMT pop is scarcity, people bidding up the only pure play China memory stock they can get their hands on, not a sign that oversupply is coming. And Korean chipmakers dropping 12 to 14% in one session looks a lot more like leverage unwinding after a parabolic run than a real rethink of Samsung or SK Hynix's HBM backlog, which both companies have already said is basically sold out for the year. Geopolitics is actually the one spot where the news should be helping, not hurting. US and Iran hostilities seem to have paused for now, which should be easing oil driven inflation fears. If this were purely a geopolitical panic you'd expect oil spiking and yields following, but that's not what's happening, this move is chip specific and Asia led, not an oil shock like a week or two ago. Rates and the Fed are still in play, decision lands tomorrow, and people are nervous about higher for longer language even though a hike isn't the base case. On top of that, reports that Nvidia's five year credit default swap costs jumped by a record margin are getting read by some as a credit risk signal tied to all this AI debt spending. But a one day CDS spike during a market wide panic is a fear indicator, not proof of an actual credit problem, spreads on every big name widen fast when volatility spikes, Nvidia's balance sheet hasn't changed in the last 24 hours. Fed futures are pricing in essentially no chance of a surprise hike tomorrow, this is a hold meeting, and I'd bet the hawkish jitters fade fast once Warsh actually talks. Then there's the bigger liquidity and positioning story, which I think explains more of today's violence than any single headline. KOSPI is down nearly 29% for the month now, steeper than 2008, mostly because Korean chipmakers had turned into crypto like gambling tokens, running way too far, too fast on retail leverage and margin debt, and now unwinding just as hard on the way down. That's positioning excess getting flushed, not HBM demand disappearing or hyperscalers pulling back. Nothing in the actual order books, capex guidance or HBM contract pricing has changed, DRAM and NAND prices are still climbing quarter over quarter, nobody's canceled a GPU order or a data center project. What changed is how much leverage was sitting on top of this trade, and that's getting ripped out in one ugly session. This is one of the scariest looking selloffs we've had all year but scary looking and actually broken are two different things. Every headline driving today, the China lithography story, the CXMT IPO, the Nvidia CDS spike, the Fed jitters, looks a lot less scary once you dig into the actual numbers, and none of it touches real AI infrastructure demand or supply. I went a little overboard with Codex last week... and burned through my entire weekly allowance in two days. Luckily, my quota reset today. Otherwise, I’m not sure what I would’ve done. It got me thinking: instead of asking one large model to handle everything from start to finish, why not let a stronger model plan the project and review the work, while a model built for execution handles the day-to-day implementation? So I tried it. The result was better than I expected. I used GPT-5.6 Sol in Codex as the decision-maker, then ran Ling-3.0-flash from Ant Ling inside OpenCode as the execution engine. Together, they built a small 3D farming game. Before writing any code, I had Codex create four documents: SPEC.md defined the product scope and the lines we couldn’t cross. ARCHITECTURE.md laid out the isometric coordinate system, state machine, and module boundaries. TASKS.md broke the project into small jobs Ling could tackle one at a time. ACCEPTANCE.md explained how each step would be tested and what “done” actually meant. Then I gave Ling a very straightforward role: You are the execution model for this project. Read all four documents before you begin. Work only on the task assigned for this round. When you’re done, run typecheck, test, and build. If anything fails, read the error, fix it, and run the checks again. Do not move on to the next task early. Ling handled dependency installation, project structure, strict TypeScript configuration, test setup, and a production build in 6 minutes and 3 seconds. It ran into issues with the Vite test config, a TS6310 error, and a missing jsdom dependency along the way. Instead of stopping at the first error, it kept reading the logs and fixing the problems until all three checks passed. The speed was honestly hard to believe. If you exclude the time spent waiting on tools, it was producing more than 100 tokens per second. That made the whole development loop feel noticeably faster. After this experiment, I’m planning to keep using the same workflow. If the task is small, there’s no reason to call an expensive planning model for every single step. If the task is large, handing the entire project to a Flash model in one prompt isn’t a great idea either. The setup that makes more sense to me is: Use a more capable model such as Codex to explore the project, make architectural decisions, and break the work down. Put the constraints into specs, schemas, types, and tests instead of leaving them buried in chat history. Give Ling-3.0-flash a steady stream of clear, verifiable implementation tasks. Report bugs with structured context and actual error logs, rather than saying, “It still doesn’t work.” Bring Codex back in for architecture reviews, visual checks, and changes that affect multiple parts of the project. The point of this setup isn’t to give AI a big “build the whole project” button. It’s to turn software development into a pipeline with a much more sensible cost structure: Codex figures out the plan, sets the boundaries, and catches problems. I don’t share these videos or this story often.... At 5:45 PM on July 13, 2024 at the Butler Farm Show, my then 10-week pregnant wife and I spoke with President Donald J. Trump . He asked what I was noticing on the trail and about my work. I told him we were going to deliver him back to The White House. He commended me on my speech. My wife asked me if he had actually seen my speech. I told her I wasn’t sure but appreciated his compliments. At 6PM we saw pictures of President Trump on Trump Force One watching us as he flew in. We laughed. My wife teased me for doubting him. At 6:03PM, the President took the stage and stopped in front of us before taking the podium located 20 feet ahead. He turned to me, tilts his head, says “good job” as he points to the podium. My friends and family remind me I doubted the man watched us. At 6:11PM, bullets screamed past. The President went to the ground, facing us. Unarmed, all we could do was find the earth. I laid on my pregnant wife, praying to Christ. The shooter was 350 feet directly to our rear. Corey and his family 20 feet to our rear, James Copenhagen and David Dutch 100 feet ahead. The laughs and joy were stolen from us all. And when I remember how angry I was that such a joyous occasion was turned horrific and the sense of relief I felt as I saw the President rise from the floor, I remember that families exists that have a much different story. Just yesterday, I spoke with David Dutch who explained that a bullet fragment is still pushing its way out of his abdomen. A painful reminder of his near-death experience. And the story that Helen, Allyson, and Kaylee have to tell and remember is a constant hell. Every day is a reminder of the loss of Corey. There was nothing staged about this attack. The death, and pain , and grief of it is still very real. It’s our duty to keep the memory of that day alive. 🚨 There’s been a lot of debate about whether... the Conor McGregor fight was fixed… I was there. I saw everything. Here’s my take. I filmed the two videos below as he walked into and out of the stadium. (Definitely take a second to watch them) What alarmed me the most about the first video was that there was no joy, excitement, or confidence as he headed toward the Octagon. As he walked into the sea of people, there ZERO percent hope in his eyes; complete deadpan. We all grew up watching Conor hype himself up before battle. That was NOT the Conor we’ve come to know. I’ve watched Conor make that walk dozens of times over the years. The swagger, the grin, the confidence; it was non existent. That’s what IMMEDIATELY caught my attention. The second I saw him, I knew was going to lose. This was his first UFC fight in five years, yet there was zero hope in his eyes? Just a completely blank expression? After all that 💩 talk? Really? To me, he looked like someone who already knew something wasn’t right. Whether it was his body, his preparation, or both, his energy was completely different. The second video shows him WALK back to the locker room. Yes, without a noticeable limp, he WALKED back with that same hopeless look in his eyes. I know 10+ people who have blown out ACLs, and none of them were casually walking around minutes later. That made me think one of two things: He already knew he was dealing with a serious injury, and that kick simply made it much worse. OR He straight up lied about his health, and planned to do a wild kick to blame the injury on in order to cash the check Regardless, it’s unfortunate how it ended. The highest selling gate in UFC history ended up being one of the biggest letdowns the sport has ever seen. Growing up means watching your heroes become human. Happy Final Space Friday! Lots to update. So here’s... the thing… since I legally can’t do a digital version of the comic, I’ve been digging into a little loophole: a motion comic. Like… an actual video version of the book. Still testing it, but Daz Tibbles did a rough test and is trying a few motion poster tests with other characters. If we pull this off, it’s gonna take FOREVER but it’s possible. That’s the key word here. Possible. And maybe worth it. Over on the Color Edition, the print file’s coming together clean. The whole focus right now is threefold: 1.Resizing 2. Color matching 3.And the “Zazz Pass” (if a tweak takes under 30 minutes, I’m hitting it). I’m building a punch list and should have some before/after examples to show off next week. It’s looking really good. On the Midnight Edition, we’re building out the UV Spot File for the cover titles on the front, spine, back, and yep, the shards of glass will glint too. Gonna look sick! Just waiting on the physical samples to land at my door so I can approve it for full print run. Also printer flagged 15 pages where the text bubbles were a little too close to the cut line, so I went in, fixed them, and sent them back. And yes, I asked about international languages. It’s doable, but that’s a whole other mountain would need to re-letter the whole thing. I’m shelving that until the English versions are fully out. Okay I think it's time for the Green Monday!... This is a post for people who don't sleep (assuming investors even sleep) during the GLOBEX session PS. You must see the image in the comment! Friday was ugly. S&P 500 dumped 2.64% to 7,383.74, worst day since October, VIX up nearly 40% as the hedging machine kicked in. Everyone's asking the same thing into Sunday's open: fade it or buy it? I'm buying it - just not at 6pm ET like the dip can't get deeper. It all keys off 7350, where futures settled in GLOBEX. Two ways we open. The likely one: we gap up. Don't chase the first candle - after a 40% VIX pop you get a squeeze (S&P 500 goes up like crazy 2pm ET GLOBEX open), then a dip. Let the squeeze run, buy the first real pullback between 8pm and 3am ET. The other: we leak toward 7300 on lingering VIX hedging. Don't catch the knife - wait for it to base, a clean hold of 7300 or clear 5-minute support, then buy the rebound that usually shows late GLOBEX or 3-4am pre-market. Same plan either way: I buy the dip, not the rip. If you are bull, be smart bull. Where I want the close: 7400 is the floor, 7450 my base case, and 7500 is very much in play (though less probable than 7450) - about 2% off the GLOBEX pivot, with the Nasdaq roughly 2.5% higher (If S&P 500 hits 7500) on a chip snapback. I’m excited to announce my new role as Growth... Lead at Plume! 🐦‍🔥 6 months ago, I had my first call with Chris Yin and surprisingly, he changed my mind. I was skeptical of a web3-native project trying to bridge the traditional world into ours. His thesis of a permissionless blockchain environment was antithesis to what I believed in at the time. After about 45 minutes of deep discussion, I could finally see it. I dropped all of my other RWA investment prospects and pointed myself towards Plume. From there, things got quiet for a while. Fast forward a few months and I had finally realized a thesis of my own; In crypto, you’ll generally find two key types of participants: speculators and yield chasers. Speculators lower their risk threshold in search of the next 100x, closely following trends and trying to capture opportunities early. It is a game that requires forward-thinking, intuition, and a lot of luck. These people range in financial status, with some looking to make their first bucket of gold, with the others trying to hit another big win and buy their second lambo. Yield chasers are a different breed of folks. They may not want to ape their entire portfolio into memes, rather they enjoy the attractive returns that DeFi offers that they generally wouldn’t be able to find in the traditional world. These folks generally aren’t looking for lambo, but believe that they will still be living well without the stress of going to zero. But as we see every cycle, Bitcoin crashes, DeFi collapses, and another round of fuzzy-haired fellas find their way over to the Metropolitan Detention Centre. Crypto dies, retail gets burned, the regulators swoop in and start raising hell, and the cycle repeats. Why does it have to be this way? Of course market cycles are natural and perhaps healthy, but why the catastrophe at the end each time? There must be a better way. And then it hit me. RWAfi is and always was the answer. The road at the end of all roads. It’s a nice road, paved with the blood, sweat, and tears of those truly trying to connect the entire world to our industry. Whether you made a major bag and want to move into wealth preservation or lost it all and no longer want to live the life of a degenerate gambler and are comfortable with a more stable approach to wealth building, eventually, everyone ends up chasing juicy yields. And we all know that there is only one sector of our industry that can consistently deliver attractive yields through bull and bear. There is only one sector that can support all the TVL that is currently sitting in vaults that are unable to sustain the yields they promised. The nature of the vertical makes it constantly aware of regulatory considerations. RWAfi is a sleeping giant, and not only will it unlock a $400T market, it will also catalyze an incredible amount of growth resembling tens of trillion in newly created value and opportunity. We are so early. That, paired with the incredible team Teddy @shukyeerwa Ivy Kang and the other 40 cracked believers that are pushing beyond their limits is the reason I bet on Plume. TAKE A BREATH. TODAY WAS ROUGH. HERE IS WHAT... IS STILL COMING. I know. It was a bad day. Barrett and Roberts handed the left a win on mail-in ballots that stings, and it is going to sting for a while. We are not going to pretend otherwise. But before you check out for the night, you need to know what is still coming, because some of the biggest decisions of this entire term have not dropped yet. And some of them could be very good for our side. Here is where things stand. Today the Court decided two major cases. On mail-in ballots, Barrett wrote the majority and sided with the liberals. Ballots postmarked by Election Day can be received days later and still count. Roberts went with her. Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch, and mostly Kavanaugh dissented. It was a gut punch and we covered it in detail earlier. The other big decision today was actually a win. The Court upheld Trump's authority to fire Rebecca Slaughter from the Federal Trade Commission. Trump called it one of the most important presidential power decisions ever handed down. He is not wrong. That one matters for executive authority in ways that will echo for years. Now here is what is still coming. BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP. This is the big one. Trump signed an executive order on day one of his second term ending automatic citizenship for children born to illegal immigrants and temporary visa holders. Every lower court blocked it as unconstitutional. The Supreme Court is the last stop. Conservative justices showed skepticism toward the administration's position during oral arguments, so do not expect a clean sweep, but this ruling is going to reshape immigration policy no matter how it lands. TRANSGENDER ATHLETES. The Court is set to rule on the Idaho and West Virginia bans on biological males competing in women's sports. The conservative justices appeared ready to uphold those bans during arguments. This could be a significant win that enshrines once and for all that Title IX does not require schools to allow biological males to compete against women. There is also a case on presidential firing power at the Federal Reserve involving Governor Lisa Cook, and a geofence warrant case involving Fourth Amendment privacy rights. The Court has not announced the final day of the term. It could be later this week or it could slip into early July. Here is the bottom line. Today hurt. The mail-in ballot ruling is a real setback and we are going to fight it through Congress. But this term is not over.
