For the first time, a commercial jet in India successfully landed using GAGAN, ISRO's indigenous satellite navigation system, marking a major milestone for Indian aviation. Developed by ISRO and the Airports Authority of India, GAGAN guided an IndiGo Airbus A320 during a successful satellite based landing approach at Udaipur Airport. Instead of relying heavily on expensive ground based navigation equipment, GAGAN uses satellite technology to provide highly accurate landing guidance. This could help more airports offer precision landings, improve safety during poor weather, reduce flight diversions, and make India's aviation network more efficient and future ready. Today we just installed the fourth CNC machine on... our shop floor which was built entirely in-house. If we hadn’t invested years into R&D and machine development, we’d still be importing this equipment and sending thousands of dollars out of the country for the same capability. Today, for this particular capacity, we operate more machines of our own design than imported ones. That shift wasn’t overnight and it didn’t come cheap. But it was worth it. Operation Amistad - Responding to the devastating earthquake that... struck northern Venezuela, the two Indian Airforce C17s transited through Abidjan enroute to Venezuela carrying 35 T of relief equipment, an Indian Army Field Hospital contingent and two BHISHM cubes. The contingent comprises 41 personnel, including nine medical officers, and is equipped to provide emergency medical care, trauma management, life-saving surgical support and other essential healthcare services to those affected by the earthquake. The team is carrying approximately six tonnes of medical stores and humanitarian relief supplies provided by the Ministry of External Affairs. In addition, one of the two aircraft is transporting a BHISHM Cube (Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog, Hita & Maitri) under India’s Aarogya Maitri Project. The BHISHM Cube is a state-of-the-art, indigenous, rapidly deployable modular medical facility designed specifically for disaster and humanitarian response. Comprising compact, self-contained medical modules, it can be quickly assembled into a fully functional field hospital capable of delivering advanced trauma care, emergency surgeries, intensive care support and essential medical treatment for up to 200 patients. Equipped with portable ventilators, patient monitors, diagnostic equipment, surgical instruments, power generation and oxygen support systems, the BHISHM Cube significantly enhances India’s capability to provide swift and effective medical assistance during humanitarian crises anywhere in the world. 🇦🇲🇮🇳According to Armenian and Indian sources, the two countries... have reached an agreement under which Armenia will purchase 8–12 Su-30MKI multi-role fighters from India. The contract value will be up to $3 billion and will include pilot and technical-personnel training as well as the supply of necessary combat materiel. Su-30MKI fighters are produced in India under license, with 70–80% of their components — including aerodynamic structures, avionics, and other systems — manufactured domestically in India. Although the fighters use Russian engines, their technical maintenance and assembly can already be carried out in India, and a program is underway to replace the baseline Russian passive radar with Indian-made active electronically scanned array (AESA) radars. In summary: Armenia is seeking to balance Azerbaijan’s acquisition of Pakistan-supplied JF-17 Block III aircraft. At present, the Indian Su-30MKI appears to be the best option for Armenia because these aircraft are already in Indian service and would not require years of waiting (deliveries are planned for 2026–2027). Armenia also has experience operating Russian Su-30SMs and, importantly, would reduce its future dependence on Russia for maintenance, ammunition, and other services.show more

Earlier this morning, 143 cockpit and cabin crew members of Air India and Air India Express who were stranded in Dubai safely arrived back in Delhi on flight AI918D. Our Operations Control Centre and supporting teams have been working around the clock to facilitate these flights in extraordinary circumstances, ensuring seamless coordination throughout. 🏥 NEW: Israel points to broken European Hospital as... it prepares to clear Gaza City hospitals Israeli Army Radio and the Times of Israel reported Saturday that the European Hospital in Khan Younis will serve as the replacement for all Gaza City hospitals as the army moves to seize the city — but Gaza’s Health Ministry says the facility is devastated and nowhere near ready to operate. In May this year, the hospital was hit by a heavy Israeli airstrike targeting a tunnel beneath the compound. The attack killed at least 28 people, caused massive damage to the facility (including roads and infrastructure), and led to the evacuation of its remaining patients. The Times of Israel described medical staff cleaning and clearing the compound today, after the IDF finally allowed access, and cited Israeli officials who said the UN and international aid groups are drawing up plans to restart the hospital “as an additional medical response” for the estimated one million Palestinians expected to be forcibly displaced. But Gaza’s Ministry of Health rejected that narrative, saying an initial assessment found massive damage to sewage, water, electricity, and oxygen systems, as well as to buildings and medical equipment. It warned that even if resources were provided immediately, it would take at least two months and $1.3 million just to restart the hospital at a minimal level, and six more months and another $3 million for full operation. The ministry stressed it will not evacuate any hospitals in Gaza governorate and renewed its demand for protection of health facilities and staff. Dr. Mohammed Abu Salmiya, director of Gaza’s al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City, told Al-Araby TV that if Israel invades Gaza City, “we will face a new massacre,” warning that more than 2,000 patients remain trapped in city hospitals with nowhere safe to go.show more
