The in-game event "Wild Wild Woods" is now live... in #EscapefromTarkov. A Scav mutiny has occurred: splinter gangs have stopped following Fence’s orders and are now shooting at anyone they encounter. Armed with revolvers and lever-action rifles, they have clearly looted some hidden stash. Rumor has it that the rebels are hauling their loot into the nature reserve, where a ton of valuables can now be found. In order to promptly deal with these troublemakers, Fence has temporarily lifted the restriction preventing Scavs from attacking one another. Only the most cautious will thrive, as there are currently no consequences for a shot in the back - not just in Woods, but everywhere. The max number of PMCs on Woods has been temporarily reduced, while player Scavs will spawn there earlier than usual. The cooldown between Scav raids has also been significantly reduced. The event will run until June 29, 9:00 AM BST / 4:00 AM EDT. You can earn a unique achievement by completing the associated task.show more

China has flight-tested a 60-kilowatt hybrid propulsion system designed... for small battlefield drones. The system lets drones generate electricity from fuel in flight, then switch to silent electric mode when the mission demands it. The result: longer range, lower noise, and a reduced heat signature. That dual-mode capability matters most precisely where stealth and endurance have to be traded against each other. It fits a larger pattern. China has simultaneously tested 3D-printed jet engines for low-cost disposable drones, deployed AI-driven swarm systems, and integrated long-range maritime strike missiles with drone-based targeting. Converted J-6 jets are now stationed near the Taiwan Strait. China is not building a drone force. It is building a fully integrated unmanned combat ecosystem, from cheap expendables by the thousands to stealth platforms capable of guiding anti-ship ballistic missiles deep into the western Pacific. The hybrid engine is not a curiosity. It is the logic behind everything else. Gandalv / Gandalvshow more

DISTRACTED DRIVING. This was from my chase this past... Sunday. This is especially for solo grinders. We all do it. We're checking radar, we're checking the phone, we're chatting on our radios, all of the tasks involved with chasing are numerous. The road is empty...noone is around...or so we think. At a moments notice, an abandoned vehicle sits half on the road. Thankfully I looked up, as we often do...but still, had I been locked into my screen for just a second or two longer...or if someone was coming in the other lane, or if it was raining. Its impossible to avoid the many distractions we face. But try, try and TRY.show more

When the plant Mimosa pudica is touched or damaged... by insects, it quickly closes its leaves as a defence. This happens because the plant sends fast electrical and calcium signals through its tissues, warning other parts of the plant that it is being eaten. These signals cause cells to lose water pressure, making the leaves fold inward within seconds. This rapid movement may help protect the plant by discouraging insects from continuing to feed, making it a simple but effective survival response. 📹 Masatsugu Toyotashow more

This was a crazy situation! Sin goes for ff2... and the KO is guaranteed BUT his controller DC before the delayed damage comes through. The TWT Rules say: "If a Match Disruption occurs during a move or animation, and after the game has been unpaused, the round ends with no further inputs from either Player, a Player that caused a Match Disruption will not forfeit the current round of the Set." So was it correct for Sin to forfeit the round? Really unique situation 😱show more

Most chiral molecules arise from carbons being bonded to... 4 different atoms, which are called sterocenters. The makes the molecule have a different mirror image that cannot arise from simple rotation. But, you can have chiral molecules not from stereocenters. You can have chirality that doesn't come from a single point in the molecule. It comes from some global property. The classic example is helicene, which doesn't have any stereocenters, but has chirality because of hits helical structure. This means you cannot capture this molecule with a graph, and thus SMILES or a string representation cannot capture this. Of course natural language comes to the rescue (just say in words if it's left-handed or right-handed helix), but it's an interesting failure mode for viewing molecules as just a graph. Another example of a molecule with helical chirality is DNA. DNA is actually chiral in two ways, which is kind of confusing. It has both helical structure and stereocenters. You won't find the stereocenters ever flipped, but left-handed helical DNA can exist (called Z-DNA). Interestingly, making the flipped stereocenter of DNA could be part of an entire mirror organism (mirror RNA, DNA, AAs, sugars) that would then be potentially invisible to our immune systems. This has been recently proposed as a "mechanism" for how a runaway AI system could cause harm to Earth. I find it to be a pretty tedious and difficult way to cause harm, but it is intellectually cool. Anyway - this came up in a PhD defense and I have a lot of arcane knowledge about this I wanted to dump.show more

Are you ready, fellas?🚨 GUR needs 🛻 very urgently... (~€6100). We have found the needed pickup, left to reserve it ASAP. PayPal [email protected] Let’s do it🙂 P.S. This fundraiser is really urgent. We were supposed to get this pickup earlier, but we had to wait for an official request from the brigade. GUR has a slightly more complicated system for official requests and they check everything longer, including the charity organisation check up, before issuing the request. That is why it took longer than it usually does with other brigades and this was the reason we postponed the fundraiser until we received the official request from them, now we need really urgently help them🙂show more

We just rescued a dog from the airport area…... who was struck by a fast-moving vehicle, maybe a bike or a car. There are no external injuries, but the pain he is going through is unbearable to watch. He cannot stand, he cannot walk, he is not eating… he is just lying there, crying in pain, trying to understand what happened to him. We immediately took him to the vet. Painkillers have been given, his blood work is done, and now we have entered the most difficult phase — the vet has advised us to wait and watch. The next 24 hours are absolutely critical for him. Please keep this sweet soul in your kind prayers. Animals cannot speak, they cannot ask for help… they only suffer silently. Let this be a reminder for all of us please drive carefully. A small moment of carelessness can take away someone’s entire world, whether a human or an innocent animal who shares these roads with us #dogsshow more

I think a big mistake is believing that if... something is here, we should be able to see it. Right? The lights in the sky and the pilots or the gods or whatever they are? I think we assume out of arrogance and ego. An insect can crawl across your hand and never understand that you are a whole entire being. It only experiences pressure, heat, vibration, and movement. A fingertip appears. A shadow passes. The insect never sees the body attached to it. The insect does not have access to the full image. Ever. I think our situation may be exactly the same. Whatever people call the phenomenon, nonhuman intelligence, gods, or something else entirely, may be present in full while we only register a portion of it. We notice effects, not the actual being. Changes in perception. Anomalies. We expect a face when all we are capable of sensing is the fingertip. Let me explain. Reports are always partial and strange. Lights, shapes, impressions, symbols, missing time, pressure, fear, calm. None of it ever shows us a full being, or the real craft; because our senses are not built to assemble it. Just like the ant cannot assemble a human from a few sensations. Now that doesn't mean what we are seeing is fake. It means the insect’s world is smaller than the thing interacting with it. I get sick of people saying there is no there there, I think they are making the same mistake the insect would make. Our reality is likely a thin slice of what actually exists. We move through a world full of forces and intelligences that exceed our resolution. We are not seeing nothing. We are seeing effects. And effects are often the only honest proof a limited observer ever gets.show more

62th day of our movement, the Sit-In at NPC,... Islamabad wraps after a long march and a continuous Sit-In for more than a month in the harsh weather of Islamabad. Our movement was successful in the sense that it mobilized the Oppressed Baloch from remote and unreachable corners of Balochistan. Who had been subjugated for long now. While the administration of Islamabad and State vowed to continue it's Genocidal policies in Balochistan reflected through it's behaviour towards the protesting families. And We, as a nation have vowed to Resist for the sake of survival. This movement has not ended, but has entered a new stage, where it has become our collective duty to stand against the inhumane policies of State in Balochistan. Soon the Caravan of the #MarchAgainstBalochGenocide will be heading towards Quetta.show more

🇲🇾🇨🇳 Hormuz gets all the attention, but the Strait... of Malacca is the one that keeps Beijing up at night. It's the world's busiest maritime chokepoint, narrowing to just 1.7 miles at its tightest point. In the first half of 2025 alone, 23.2 million barrels of oil per day passed through it. That's more than Hormuz. Around 75% of China's seaborne crude imports flow through it from the Middle East and Africa. The Iran war has forced governments across Asia to think seriously about what happens if Malacca faces the same fate as Hormuz. Indonesia's finance minister floated the idea of tolls this week before walking it back. Singapore has already assured both the U.S. and China that passage is guaranteed and it won't participate in any effort to block it. The difference between Hormuz and Malacca is that 4 countries share the strait and all of them have a strategic interest in keeping it open. That makes it harder to close, but also harder to control. China is watching what the U.S. did to Iran's economy through a single chokepoint. It has one of its own that it can't protect alone. Source: Reutersshow more

Michael Myers is receiving a considerable change in next... update! Replaced “Evil Within” with two modes that can be toggled with a button press: • STALKER Mode: 4.2m/s movement speed, Undetectable, and can stalk Survivors. • PURSUER Mode: 4.6m/s movement speed, 24m Terror Radius, increased vault speed, bonuses to lunge range, break speed, and stun recovery, and cannot stalk Survivors. Once the stalk meter is full, Evil Incarnate mode can be triggered at will, granting the following effects for a limited time (note: Survivors no longer become Exposed): • 4.6m/s movement speed, 40m Terror Radius and an increased vault speed. • Unlocks SLAUGHTERING STRIKE ability: • Hold the power button to charge this ability, reducing movement speed. • Press the attack button while charging to quickly lunge forward, adjusting your angle as you move. The length of the lunge depends on charge time. • If a Survivor enters the Killer’s attack range while lunging, they are knocked into the Dying State. • This ability can also be used to destroy pallets. • Unlocks the ability to grab and kill or perform a regular Mori on Survivors who would die the next time they are hooked. Adjusted some of the mechanics of stalking: • Removed the limited pool of stalk points per Survivor. • Reduced stalk range to 32m and removed distance modifier. • Moving while stalking has increased movement speed but incurs a reduced stalk rate. Reworked his add-ons.show more

The North Tower of the World Trade Center collapsed... exactly 1 hour and 42 minutes after it was struck. We were told that the initial massive explosion and fireball came from the impact of American Airlines Flight 11 and the ignition of its jet fuel. What still puzzles me is what caused the apparent secondary explosion right before the building came down. From this particular angle, it's clearly visible, though it's much less obvious—or not noticeable at all—from other camera perspectives. Is there a logical explanation for this other than the official narrative being a complete lie?show more

🇮🇷🇮🇱| A little more to understand... My opinion: The... war may end in a few days or last a lot longer—all depending on whether or not the US joins Israel. Israel is not able to fight against Iran for much longer; its interceptors have a certain capability threshold, and reports already suggest it is rationing its interceptor missiles, and we've seen how 12-17 interceptors were launched, yet Iranian missiles still made an impact. It all comes down to whether the US is willing to go to war with Iran or not; it's likely they will if you consider Trump's administrative behavior since he took office. But honestly, if they are smart, they will not. - A little about Iran's missile situation: Israel says it's conducting operations in northwestern and western Iran to prevent the reactivation of missile bases in Tabriz, Kermanshah, and Khorramabad. A significant portion of the Israeli Air Force is now focused on these 3 sites to prevent further missile launches from those locations. This suggests that the sites they claim they destroyed did not suffer strategic damage, and the destroyed hangars were of minimal value. As a result, Israel continuously carries out operations and remains engaged to prevent Iran from reactivating its capabilities in the west. If these 3 regions are abandoned, Israel will move on to target other strategic sites. These 3 missile bases are among Iran's key assets. The missiles are intact and untouched, it's the launchers that are affected, and they can easily be reactivated, but it's difficult under continuous attacks. Other missile bases in the south remain untouched and have so far not been used, as they are probably being reserved for strikes against the US. Missile launches are mainly launched from the center and north of Iran, some from the western regions as well. The reason for limited and isolated launches these past few days has several explanations, mainly that Iran is testing to recognize new patterns everytime a serious attack is carried out, as Israel continuously changes its defensive behavior to prevent Iran's intelligence from learning it; thus, isolated launches, followed by a bigger, deadlier, and more accurate attack with 30 launches as we saw today.show more

🚨 SCIENTISTS JUST BUILT A WIRE THAT IS ONLY... ONE ATOM WIDE. Researchers have created linear carbon atomic chains essentially a string of carbon atoms bonded in a straight line suspended between two gold electrodes, and directly observed how electrons travel through them. These chains are one of the most extreme forms of matter: a true 1D carbon structure with extraordinary stiffness and unique electronic behavior. In this setup, electrons can travel through the chain in ways that reveal quantum effects not seen in conventional materials. Why this matters: • Linear carbon chains are predicted to be the strongest material known, stronger even than graphene or carbon nanotubes • They offer a platform to study true one-dimensional physics and quantum transport at the atomic scale • Understanding charge flow through single-atom chains could help design future molecular-scale electronics • The gold-carbon-gold junction acts like a prototype for atomic-scale wires and switches The deeper implication: We are now building and testing electronics at the ultimate limit of miniaturization literally one atom wide. These experiments don’t just push the boundaries of what’s physically possible; they give us a window into how matter behaves when reduced to a single dimension. The rules that govern bulk materials break down here, and new quantum phenomena emerge. This kind of work lays the groundwork for a future where electronic devices are engineered atom by atom rather than fabricated in bulk. We’re moving from “smaller transistors” to “wires made of single atoms.” How close do you think we are to practical molecular or atomic-scale electronics becoming reality? 🇺🇸🇮🇷 Reports of a U.S. A-10 Thunderbolt II going... down near the Strait of Hormuz raise a key question: how easy is it to bring one down? At first glance, the A-10 looks like an easy target. It is slow, flies at low altitude, and lacks the stealth and speed of modern jets. But it was never designed to avoid fire. It was designed to survive it. Every part of it reflects that idea. The pilot sits inside a titanium armor “bathtub,” critical systems are duplicated, and the engines are placed far apart to reduce the chance of a single hit taking it out. Even the fuel system is built to limit severe damage. Its combat record proves it. During the Gulf War, A-10s often returned with heavy damage, damaged wings, failed hydraulics, and barely working systems, yet still made it back. Modern air defenses can hit an A-10, but destroying it is a different challenge. Flying low through terrain and battlefield clutter makes targeting harder, and its strong build means one hit is rarely enough. That durability is what keeps it relevant. While newer jets rely on stealth and speed, the A-10 depends on pure survivability. It is not invincible, but it was built with one expectation: it will take fire and still return.show more

They started with 50. Now they say they’re 18,000... In 1996 there were fewer than 50 of them. Today, according to the organizers, up to 18,000 walked through Copenhagen. From Dronning Louises Bro to the Imam Ali Mosque. Look at the curve. This is how it happens. First a handful. Then a few hundred. Then it fills a bridge, a district, a capital. A little at a time, until it is no longer a little. And let me be fair, because fairness is the point. There is nothing strange about them holding this mourning procession. They have done it as part of their faith for more than a thousand years. It is theirs, and they believe in it. There is nothing strange about that at all. What should stop us is the other half. There is nothing strange about Europe allowing it either, and that is exactly the problem. Europe allows it because Europe has forgotten who it is. A people that remembers what it stands for does not need to ban anything, it simply knows where its own line runs. We have lost that. And so the issue was never them. The issue is us. Now look at what actually moved through the streets. Men in front. Women in the second row. That is not a detail, that is the whole point. It is a view of women set into a system and marched out into the public square, in a city where generations fought for women and men to stand as equals. The real question is not whether people may believe what they want. They may. The question is why our capital should cultivate a political law-religion that commemorates a 7th-century power struggle by dividing people by sex on Nørrebrogade. One of the organizers is the Imam Ali Mosque, repeatedly described as the Iranian regime’s extended arm in Denmark. The same regime that hangs women and young men from cranes. We are not importing culture. We are importing a system. And we let it grow, not because they are strong, but because we forgot why we were. First a little. Then a lot. Then too late.show more
