I am currently on Reservist training. Here in Norway... with the Royal Marine Surveillance and Reconnaissance Squadron. Dusting off some old skills and drills in the Arctic Circle. It’s -18C but still workable for insertion skills. Norway is not just a strategic ally it’s a geopolitical partnership. With Russian submarine and naval activity in the North Atlantic increasing by over 30% in the past two years we need to increasingly work together. I'm beyond proud of the work I did during my 3 years here, everything from designing & building Webflow University, helping create designs & visuals for our course lessons, making tons of illustrations for our keynotes, contributing to the new logo + rebrand & new designer UI last year, early explorations of AI in the product, and so much more. I truly leveled up my design/dev/illustration skills over the past few years, a big part in thanks to Sara Lundberg & McGuire Brannon constantly pushing me & my work, as well as getting to work along side of some of the most talented people I've ever met. I'm definitely going to miss my coworkers, but I'm also excited to explore some new projects I've been wanting to start. thanks guys for trying the demo! this feels different... from the initial demo that we pushed last year in the steam RTS fest. Back then, 95% of feedback was about "lack of tutorial". It made me sad because I didn't really enjoy the game back then and I felt that making a tutorial was pointless. this time, we still don't have a tutorial, only few minor objectives, and still got 10x more feedback. And real feedback from players that played a lot, some of them replayed the same mission many times. for the first time in almost 3 years, I feel confident about encouraging people to try Powerplay. And it will only get bigger and better from here, because I decided to finally end my solo developer era and finally get a partner to help me ship this motherfucker! ⚔️ Kingdom Come Deliverance first impressions ⚔️ Loving it... so far, basically a medieval detective simulator that really doesn't care that you are the main character. And I'm all here for it. ▪️The WORLD is the real star of the show here and even though it's got plenty of jank and lots of copy and paste NPC faces, it just feels so IMMERSIVE. Even the UI just transports me to the times with a bright colourful medieval art style. ▪️The MUSIC I love, absolutely sells the world and basically ASMR as you trot around on your horse through the world. ▪️THE Combat is a real interesting one, it's got quite the learning curve which I actually LIKE, it definitely has some jank to it as well but I really appreciate the attempt at an original and nuanced combat system. (Having to stop your bleeding with bandages is really cool) ▪️The Story has gripped me (19 hours in so far) And while it seems a simple revenge story on the face of it, I think the story is more about Henry making his way through the world after the horrors of Skallitz. The writing quality is top notch as well as the quest design also. ▪️The CHARACTERS are amazing and the humour is top notch. I'm not sure the last time I laughed so much at a game. Henry is great and so well voiced by Tom McKay This really feels like Warhorse Studios have put a lot of love and work into making an authentic medieval world and as a bit of a medieval nerd I can't get enough of this game. A True RPG as well by all accounts, the game really makes me think hard about how to approach situations. Also I can't wait to get to KCD2.show more

Let me get this straight, because it broke my... American brain. In the UK there is a thing called the telly tax. You do not pay it because you watch the BBC. You pay it because you own a television at all. The physical box in your living room. So the government charges you for the privilege of owning a screen, then uses the money to fund the channel you were trying to avoid. It is a cover charge for a party you never wanted to attend. And now 2.6 million households have looked at that deal and said no thank you, the biggest walkout in a generation. Meanwhile, in the land of the free and the aggressively over-appliance, I have six televisions. Six. All of them Samsungs. One exists purely to play weather radar and college football in a room I enter twice a month. Nobody taxed me for a single one. No letter, no inspector at my door confirming I own a Samsung. So here is my modest proposal for everyone over there still paying. You still own the box. You still get the bill. So on the same night, all of you, haul the telly down to the river and on the count of three heave it in. Call it the London TV Party. You already have the blueprint. Some colonists did the exact same thing with a boatload of tea in a harbor once, and it worked out pretty well for the ones doing the throwing. The BBC taxes the box, so you drown the box. This is one of the most expensive silent movie... stunts of all time. This shot from Buster Keaton's "The General" (1926) cost $42,000 (equal to $600,000 today). The production company left the wreckage of the train in the Row River, south of Cottage Grove in Oregon. The site became a tourist attraction until 1944 when the wreckage was finally salvaged and scrapped during World War II. "The General" went way over budget, costing $750,000 (equal to $11 million today) in total. Some of the unforeseen costs included "Keaton being knocked unconscious; an assistant director being shot in the face with a blank cartridge; a train wheel running over a brakeman's foot, resulting in a $2,900 lawsuit; and the train's wood-burning engine causing numerous fires. The fires often spread to forests and farmers' haystacks, which cost the production $25 per burnt stack." In the end, the film only made $500,000 at the box office and was panned by film critics. Despite failing financially and losing his artistic independence, Keaton considered "The General" to be his crowning achievement. "I was more proud of that picture than any picture I ever made," he said. Today, "The General" is regarded as one of the greatest films of all time. Roger Ebert gave the film 4 stars and listed it on his top 10 in 2002. He had this to say about Buster Keaton: "Today I look at Keaton's works more often than any other silent films.
