Some guys are able to leverage and rotate from that position extremely well, which then I would say that it’s not an issue.⠀⁠ -⠀⁠ On the other hand, there are some guys who will get out of this position by driving extension out of their back leg, killing their ability to rotate their pelvis and get it in an open position into landing.⠀⁠ -⠀⁠ This is when I would suggest trying to make a change. I think a lot of people jump into certain ideologies that you shouldn’t do certain things because it’s “inefficient” or it looks “wrong”. ⠀⁠ -⠀⁠ Take a look at these pitchers shown in the video. All 3 of these high level arms have some degree of knee flexion over their toe. Kiev is raising the alarm: society is ready for... "lynch mob" justice. Ukrainian Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets has suddenly become the leading public accuser of the mobilization machine in Ukraine. He states that society has reached a point of "lynch mob" justice, and military recruitment centers have become a legitimate target for public outrage. According to Lubinets, Ukrainians no longer believe in a "legal response" to the actions of the Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRCs), so they are starting to take justice into their own hands. In his assessment, only about 10% of mobilizations are carried out according to procedure, while in the remaining cases, there are direct violations of citizens' rights. People are being detained without protocols, without police, wearing balaclavas and without insignia. He openly admits that the breaking point is almost reached, and Ukrainian society is on the verge of a violent confrontation with the authorities, while the recent events in Lviv are just the first mass outburst. It is noteworthy that the Human Rights Commissioner cites specific examples. He talks about people with broken ribs who were held in TRCs, a mobilized man who died the next day, whose death was concealed from his family and attempts were made to bury him without an autopsy, and cases where people were simply murdered in recruitment centers. According to him, the premises of the TRCs have effectively been turned into places of detention, where men are brought in like detainees, being forcibly removed from their normal lives. "He literally went out to take out the trash and was found six days later at a training ground." Against this backdrop, today's attacks on TRC facilities in the Chernihiv region are a cruel military irony. For Ukrainian conscripts, this looks extremely cynical: those who broke their ribs during detention and dragged them to the recruitment center yesterday are now themselves under attack from drones. This is how the paradox of wartime is born. Russian "Geran" drones are objectively becoming allies of Ukrainian conscripts, because they are attacking the very structure that has turned mobilization into a hunt for people. Kyiv is getting a rare opportunity when its own Human Rights Commissioner and Russian drones are saying the same thing – the mobilization system is not just cracking, it is working against the very foundations of the Ukrainian state. But why isn’t this important piece of history taught in schools everywhere else around the world? Too many schools in Canada, for instance, allow this propaganda to be a part of their classroom studies. And from a marketing perspective, this propaganda is well-positioned to be accepted by people who don’t know any better because they never received this education in any history class. The word “Nakba” is also cleverly wielded. A non-English word, it acts as a mysterious, yet symbolic placeholder for whatever trauma your mind can conjure. The ambiguity gives it power. The unfamiliarity of its language and culture gives it a sense of empathetic authenticity. You want it to be real, so you can demonstrate your empathy for its cause. Suicidal empathy. When you think about everything we know about Pete, he’s just 24, yet he’s been emotionally exhausted for years. His gang is younger than him, meaning he can’t really share anything with them. His sister neglects him, and the way he talks about his relatives makes it obvious that his family life is filled with distance rather than care😔 It’s the first time Pete has ever talked about his past, not running from it but actually saying it out loud while someone quietly listens to him. Niran doesn’t interrupt Pete or try to comfort him. He looks composed the whole time, but I can feel his emotions through the silence, the sigh, the way he listens. He is simply lying there but it’s a safe space for Pete to unravel, which is why Pete later says that people feel at ease around Niran. It’s not cuz Niran is affectionate, it’s cuz he says things as they are and that helps Pete feel like he can be himself around him, even at his most broken moment. The scene before where he was furious with Pete, he’s not judging Pete’s life, he’s just giving him the hard truth. He doesn’t sugarcoat things, but he also doesn’t invalidate Pete’s pain. Managed to get out of Dubai. The following is... my personal opinion & experience 🇦🇪 Everything went quite seamless. Careem cabs operate normally. The airport is extremely well organized, considering the circumstances. The world has changed since Saturday and unfortunately, the country I moved to 3 years ago has been under heavy attacks. Why? No one really knows. However, I find it extremely disturbing that most media - including our beloved CT - exploits that serious situation to take cheap shots at Dubai and people who moved here. There are real families and hard working people affected. Most are scared or feel extremely uncomfortable. It's a traumatizing experience to hear missile interceptions right above your house. Nothing I wish for any human to ever experience, no matter if you pay 0% or 50% taxes. I don't even know what the link between those two things should be?? If anything, it proves that the UAE cares about their people and is able to protect its residents. Even at 0% income tax. Dubai was not known for it's strong military. It was always portrayed to be bling-bling golden steaks and influencers. But the UAE has shown the entire world that it can defend 1,000+ drones and 200+ missiles from a direct neighbor. That is impressive, whether you love or hate the UAE. Many countries would likely not be able to absorb that. So, if anything: Dubai and the UAE have demonstrated that the system works. I have lived in multiple countries around the world and the UAE is by far the most capable of handling crisis. Why did I leave Dubai then? Because it's not a situation I want to be in. Missile interceptions and drone explosions are no joke. Besides the danger that debris could hit your roof, there's an incredible intensity in the air. Most describe it as "intense calmness". While the Government managed to keep everyone from panicking, it's impossible for everyone to stay fully calm. And you can feel that in the day to day. The first night I got virtually no sleep. The night of my departure neither. I haven't left my house at all after the attacks started. But I'm out now. I really hope that leaving the country wasn't necessary, and that I will be able to come back to Dubai as soon as possible. And no, I'm not paid to say this, nor did I sign anything. Maybe part of the truth why no one who lives in Dubai has bad things to say about it is because it's one of the rare places on earth where people actually trust the Government and respect them? Not only for creating wealth and understanding business, but for caring and communicating in a way most other countries are simply incapable of. Anyways, I guess the point of this post is to 1) Tell everyone in Dubai that it's possible to leave right now. I know many people are very scared and want to get out. Be persistent with the airline if they cancel your flight and push hard to get rebooked on the next available one. And maybe choose a destination that isn't Europe, considering most of these flights are overbooked already and impossible to get on. 2) Dubai's self defense is impressive and we should acknowledge that. At least this one time, let's not derail into irrelevant discussions but show respect to the leaders + express empathy for those affected. 3) As an expat living in Dubai, I can still feel proud of my home country and do not have to choose. This isn't a black and white situation. Dubai is a melting pot of cultures and great place for Business. Other countries have better nature, social life or other things. It's also up to individual preference. 4) If you hate Dubai, yalla you don't need to live here, visit nor speak about it. Enjoy the place you live in and focus on your own. No need to feel triggered and take cheap shots at hard working people and families that are currently under heavy missile attacks. From the center of Buenos Aires, I warmly congratulate... all Argentines on the result of their democratic elections (although I am not a fan). The voter turnout here was really high (76%). Before you start reading the European media's bullshit about Milei being an ultra-right-wing fascist who wants to establish a dictatorship, study his electoral program (especially the economic one). To vote for his opposition (Massa) was to vote for a continuation of the dramatic economic decline and hyperinflation that Argentina has been facing for decades (Massa was directly responsible for this as Minister of Economy). Yes, many Argentines voted for Milei out of desperation because they had nothing left to lose - socialists like Massa have ruined their lives with hyperinflation and made Argentina the country with the worst economic decline in Latin America (worse than Venezuela's at the moment). European politicians, as forged socialists, supported Massa, of course, because it is inconceivable to them that Argentina could become a model of a minimal, lean, and better-functioning state - Milei plans to abolish most of the state, fire most civil servants, abolish most ministries, and abolish most taxes and stop inflation by dollarisation. When the European media tell you that Milei is a populist, know that populism in Argentina at the moment means abolishing all social packages, abolishing the dysfunctional public health service, and introducing market prices without state subsidies. Populism in Milei's case means that he wants to abolish all social benefits because Argentines have understood that state social benefits are the most expensive and have been paying for them for years through hyperinflation. The populism of Milei means that he wants to end relations with socialist countries like Venezuela or China (for which European politicians, who only prattle on about the rights of the Uighurs, have no balls). Yes, Milei is an emotionally unstable person and has many dark sides (he is in favor of banning abortion because he considers a person's life from the moment of conception, and he is against drugs because he thinks their legalization would burden the public health service, which he plans to abolish). Therefore, he has no clear support among libertarians. It is not at all certain that he will be able to get his radical agenda through. Many people think not. Unless he succeeds in dollarising Argentina and greatly curtailing collapsing socialism, the ideas of the minimal state may be transferred to other Latin American socialist states. The election of Milei is a demonstration that most people in Argentina understand that the state is not the solution, but the main problem. That socialism does not work and has failed completely in Argentina. It should also be a clear signal to the economically stagnant EU that continuing with tax increases, inflation, new regulations and other encroachments on the freedom of Europeans is a road to hell. Also today, Jim Chalmers was running victory laps at the National Press Club. He told us they’re doing a great job managing the economy and have big plans for our nation - as he bounced from slogan to slogan. At some point Labor must stop campaigning and start answering for the mess we are in. A mess the political class have made. The establishment in Australia are so poll driven, so focused on the next sound bite they don’t seem to understand that their plans are not working. Too many Australians are worse off today than they were a decade ago. Housing, groceries and the everyday basics slipping further and further out of reach. Crime increasing as the situation worsens… and yet, the National Press Club in their pant suits fawn over every word that falls from Chalmers. He tells us the Labor government is modernising our electricity grid. As electricity becomes unstable and expensive. How very modern. He suggests they are “seizing the opportunities from Net Zero with a future made in Australia”, as long-standing businesses that used to make things here – close down for good. It sounds to me like he should instead have a PhD in spin. Not that the Australian media has much interest in questioning him. They don’t call out the obvious sloganeering and the absolute dishonesty – the whitewashing of the real situation of the Australian not privileged enough to sit in the club. Worse still, our economic situation is corroding, and it is the government that pours on the acid. Instead of talking about real problems and real solutions, Jim delighted the establishment crowd juggling balls of distraction drenched in sophistry. IT would seem that the big end of town doesn’t really care about Australia; they have the money and mobility to go anywhere – they’re global citizens. Their companies can make things anywhere. The media just want access, so they only ever go so far with their critique. The big banks are too big to fail. They don’t mind the digital cage closing on the rest of us… after all they have the keys. Oh… by the way, Chalmers will help our economy to digitise with a digital ID. That ought to fix it for those who are struggling. I think the government is out of its depth. The economy is getting much worse for real Australians - quickly. The establishment is immune, and the bubble is thick. We don’t really need the newspapers to tell us that it is getting tougher, or that Chalmers is more focused on his slogans than practical solutions. We can see that for ourselves. However, we do need significant cuts to immigration, cheap reliable electricity and a lot less regulation across the board. We need to transition back to an industrial economy. This is the story the media seems to have... buried and forgotten. Back in March 2026, a late-night trip to a Waffle House in Richardson, Texas turned into absolute chaos when gunfire erupted after an argument between two groups escalated into violence. According to police, multiple people in both groups pulled out guns and started firing. Seth Jackson was not there looking for trouble. He had just gotten off work late and stopped at the Waffle House to grab food with friends. When he saw several people attacking one of his friends, he ran toward the altercation to help. He never even made it within 15 feet. Before he could reach them, Seth was struck by a bullet. The shooting left the young man catastrophically injured and fighting for his life. The Odyssey maximizer. Of the people who claim to... have read the Odyssey, I would say at best 15% of them have. And of that 15%, maybe 10% genuinely had the knowledge, familiarity with the time, people, place, technology, wars, cultures and conflicts to have anything of interest extracted and result in knowledge of the material. It’s like they “died with the odyssey” rather than “from the odyssey” Most normal people don’t want to spend a lifetime in the rabbit holes of “why did xyz use this word and not that word” “why did he say this and not that” and so on and so on, forever. How many copies of the book sold last year, maybe at best, I’d guess worldwide - maybe around 200,000 and that’s across all countries, languages, translations and they all seem to those convene on X like it’s the bar on Cheers “Norm!” I have studied in depth Machiavelli, the sources Machiavelli refers to, the Borgia’s, The medicis, the history of Florence, his plays and not just Livy’s histories but the histories he used as source material, so I understand machiavelli’s intention of irony, I understand thr use of cruelty in the shocking death of de orco , I understand his use of numbers and so in and so in. I have read many many academic papers covering the most minute things in his works. I don’t discuss Machiavelli except in passing, I acknowledge “oh you read The Prince (a shorter book usually assigned in schools because it easily fits within the semester)” and then usually disengage. Should a movie be made of any of his works I would see it and if it gets a few people interested in learning more and going to the library that would be great. Likewise, for almost all people - the Machiavelli movie would be enough to have satiated their desire to know ‘who he is and what he wrote and why he wrote it’ I am not a snob. I read just enough Plato to say “I read Plato” and that’s it. Some people want to delve deep into his works. I didn’t - but by definition I have “read Plato” But Plato is easy to read because it’s bite size. The odyssey isn’t bite size. Remarkable that on this platform that exploits a super quick attention span, these same users who can’t make it though an axios article or a 4 tweet thread can flip a switch in their noodle and transform themselves into the Burgess Meredith character in The Twilight Zone. Two posts in one day calling for the end... of John Cleese. One says he has allied himself with the darkest forces in Britain and has become the caricature he once mocked. The other, from a Muslim outlet, argues plainly that he should be de-platformed by respectable institutions. De-platformed. Respectable institutions. Say those words slowly and try to hear how they would have landed in 1972. The man co-wrote a film so blasphemous the BBC would not touch it, that was banned outright in Norway and by councils across England, and that two bishops went on television to denounce while he sat there and let them. Life of Brian survived the actual Church of England. It is now being reviewed by a newsletter. And the accusation is that he has become the caricature he once mocked, which is a remarkable sentence to write about a man whose entire body of work was aimed at exactly this. The Ministry of Silly Walks was a joke about a government department funding nonsense with a straight face. Now we have men in offices deciding which comedians remain permissible, and doing it with no jokes at all. At least the Ministry had the decency to be funny. Let me be fair, because I am always fair, and because being fair is what makes the rest of this land. Criticism is not censorship. Both of those men have every right to say Cleese is wrong, tasteless, or past it. That is speech. Nobody owes an 86 year old comedian applause. But there is a hard line between you are wrong and you should not be permitted to speak, and one of those posts crossed it in the headline. The first is an argument. The second is an eviction notice. And notice what the eviction is actually for. He said things about a religion. Not about a person. A religion, which is a set of ideas, and ideas do not have rights. People do. In England you can still say anything you like about the Church of England, and Cleese made a career of it, and nobody drafted a newsletter about respectable institutions. Here is what is wrong with Britain, and I say it with real affection because I am going there next month. A country that gave the world Magna Carta, the common law, and the funniest people who have ever lived has developed the habit of asking whether a joke is allowed. Thousands of anti-Canada protestors gather regularly in our streets... to whine about the Nakba. Frankly, this entire Nakba narrative is old. So let's debunk it, yet again, shall we? Especially now that Jewish history has effectively been rendered illegal by so many of our schools, most recently by the Toronto District School Board (Toronto District School Board). It's time to stop with indoctrination and get back to education ... The Nakba was NOT the catastrophe the anti-democracy mob purports it to be. The Nakba was the Arabs losing a war they started — in the most humiliating way. I'll explain simply: On May 14, 1948, Israel declared independence. Immediately following that declaration, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Saudi Arabia waged a genocidal war against the new Jewish state. Their plan: the complete and utter annihilation of Israel and the Jewish people. Israel had no army and few weapons. Adversaries ambushed them from all directions. While the US and UK prevented Israel from getting arms, the Brits trained and armed the Arabs. Against ALL odds, tiny, unprepared Israel defeated SIX trained and well-armed armies. One of the greatest military humiliations in history. And the Arabs and Palestinians repeated similar self-inflicted humiliations in 1967 and again in 1973. If you want to talk about a real Nakba, then talk about the one million Jews ethnically cleansed from Arab countries. Those Jews were forced to flee, after murders, r*pes, and pogroms. Generations of their wealth, history, and places of worship left behind. No refugee status. No United Nations cheque every month — for seven generations. No “right of return.” Oh, and why is 20 per cent of Israel’s population Arab-Israeli? Well, as part of that 1948 war, Arab leaders ordered Arabs on Israeli land to leave their homes. They promised them they could return home after they exterminated the Jews. Israelis pleaded with the Arabs not to listen. “We are peace-loving people,” the Israelis published widely, inviting the Arabs to stay. “There is no cause for fear which others try to instill in you.” The ones who fled went to various refugee camps throughout the Arab states. Their living conditions were poor and the Arab states did not grant them any rights. Israel offered to take the refugees back. But nope! They did not want to live amongst Jews. The Arabs who did not leave remain today as part of the Arab-Israeli population of 2 million. Their rights are equal to those of Jewish-Israelis. The Nakba was never a catastrophe inflicted upon Arabs; it was always a self-inflicted embarrassment. This is not taught to Arab or Palestinian children in schools because it’s humiliating to their people. But why isn’t this important piece of history taught in schools everywhere else around the world? Too many schools in Canada, for instance, allow this propaganda to be a part of their classroom studies. And from a marketing perspective, this propaganda is well-positioned to be accepted by people who don’t know any better because they never received this education in any history class. The word “Nakba” is also cleverly wielded. A non-English word, it acts as a mysterious, yet symbolic placeholder for whatever trauma your mind can conjure. The ambiguity gives it power. The unfamiliarity of its language and culture gives it a sense of empathetic authenticity. You want it to be real, so you can demonstrate your empathy for its cause. Suicidal empathy. (Credit to yet for coining that term.) But for those who suffer from Factophobia (credit to me for coining that term), and cannot absorb facts — let me break it down again — in the absolute simplest way possible: The Nakba was the Arabs’ effort to colonize another country, genocide its people, lose a brutal war they started, and then whine about it to the world, forevermore.
