While observing the Moon, a telescope captured a fast-moving... object briefly passing near the lunar surface. The event lasted only moments, making it difficult to identify the object with certainty. Possible explanations include a meteoroid, satellite transit, or another object crossing the observer's line of sight. A split-second observation... and another fascinating moment in lunar astronomy.show more

While tracking the Moon through a telescope in daylight,... an unusual object appeared near the lunar surface during a brief observation. The exact nature of the object cannot be determined from a single recording, and multiple explanations may exist, including a meteoroid, satellite transit, or imaging effect. Observations like this are a reminder of how dynamic the space environment can be. A brief passage near the Moon... captured in broad daylight. #moon #astronomy #telescope #space #nasashow more

Adding keyframes to the 3D feature tracking shows that... the object in the Pentagon's PR043 UFO video is consistent with a ~13 cm diameter object moving in level flight at 20 knots. Or any number of faster, larger objects. So maybe a bird, or a balloon.show more

A dramatic moment captures a space rock striking the... Moon’s surface, creating a powerful and sudden impact. The object hits at incredible speed, producing a brief flash and disturbing the lunar surface. With no atmosphere to slow it down, the Moon is constantly exposed to impacts from space rocks, which have shaped its cratered landscape over billions of years. Events like this are happening all the time, but capturing one clearly is rare. This moment gives a glimpse into the dynamic nature of space and how even the Moon continues to change. A brief impact, but a powerful reminder of cosmic activity. #nasa #space #spacexshow more

👽 Moscow in shock — a mysterious bright green... object flew over the city Early this morning, Moscow residents spotted a dazzling green flash in the sky. An unidentified object streaked above the city and vanished, leaving a glowing trail behind. Eyewitnesses say it could be a meteor burning up in the atmosphere, or debris from a satellite. According to another version, it was the work of an AI. Though some joke that aliens have finally arrived. What do you think?show more

Earthrise, captured by the Japanese spacecraft Kaguya from lunar... orbit 🌏 Such a "rise" can only be filmed from orbit, because from the lunar surface, Earth always remains in roughly the same spot in the sky. This is because the Moon always faces Earth with the same side due to tidal locking. The video is sped up.show more

China on Thursday announced that it has successfully completed... a comprehensive test for the landing and take off of its manned lunar lander "Lanyue" at a test site in Huailai County in the northern Chinese province of Hebei. The "Lanyue" lunar lander is a newly developed extraterrestrial manned descent and ascent vehicle for China's first manned lunar exploration mission, which is primarily designed for transporting astronauts between lunar orbit and the lunar surface. The lander can carry two astronauts on round trips and is equipped to transport a lunar rover and scientific payloads, supporting astronauts in conducting surface activities and extended stays on the moon.show more

🧵THE OBJECT ORBITING EARTH THAT ASTRONOMERS WONT CALL NATURAL... (1/6) A small object called Sar2901 recently passed Earth and entered a temporary orbit around the Earth-Moon system and people are going wild. When the Minor Planet Center looked at the observations, it couldn't decide whether Sar2901 was a natural mini moon or if it was an artificial object. It has now delayed giving it an official minor planet designation because if they did it would mean accepting that the object is natural and they don't know that it is. That's the official position of the organization responsible for collecting and publishing the orbits of asteroids and comets. Sar2901 is now beyond the reach of any current observations but it should become visible again in November, when astronomers might finally learn what has been moving around us.👇show more

August 1990, two hikers walking near Calvine in the... Scottish Highlands reported seeing a large, diamond shaped object hovering in the sky. The men claimed the object was metallic and remained stationary for several minutes before blasting upward at high speed. They also reported observing a military jet aircraft in the vicinity, which appeared to circle near the object. It appeared to be a Harrier VTOL jet. One of the hikers photographed the scene, producing a image that later became one of the most discussed UFO photographs in the United Kingdom. The photographs were reportedly submitted to local UK authorities and eventually passed to the Ministry of Defence (MOD). For years, the case was unknown to the public, making people go even more overload government secrecy. Later, a version of one image resurfaced through investigative journalism that I have attached.
