Why should you add hops into your drill work?... Each hop changes the relationship between the pelvis, trunk, and center of mass, making the athlete constantly reorganize their sequencing. By blending implements, moving from a water ball to a baseball, we expose the athlete to varying levels of instability and feedback. Pro tip: the second hop tends to be the depth in which most athletes find to be their most efficient and powerful position.show more

Self-Toss Short Hop Drill One of the best ways... to develop game-ready hands in a small space. Work ground balls at you, declared backhands, and glove-side picks with both 1-hop and 2-hop variations. Keys: 1. Start low, stay low, move low. 2. Be on time to the short hop. 3. Let your feet create the hop you want. If you’re late, you’ll get an in-between hop. Really late? A big hop. Neither is the goal. Elite defenders hunt the short hop. Simple setup. Tons of reps. Big-time transfer to the game.show more

Why would a Division 1 baseball program train their... pitchers like this? It’s called Savage Power: 8-12 seconds of fast, unpredictable work followed by a 20-second reload. The goal is to teach athletes to remove slack, stabilize key positions, and produce speed and power under pressure. Not to mention it also mirrors the rhythm of the pitch clock. Empty the tank. Reload. Be ready to deliver again.show more

Today we’re releasing an early version of a new... feature called Tip Cards. We built Tip Cards after seeing people all over the world tipping each other with Cash Links for their contributions online eg. posting good content, responding to questions, moderating group chats, and many others. Tip Cards simplify this experience by enabling every Code user to create their own personalized Tip Card and accept tips from anyone in the world. To create your Tip Card, simply connect your Twitter/X account in the Code app and your personalized Tip Card will be instantly generated for you. You can then share it as a link or get someone to scan it. (Video below of how to create your Tip Card) We’re rolling out this early version of Tip Cards to get feedback on this new payment type and test the Twitter APIs at scale. We plan to add more features to the tipping experience as we go, so your feedback is appreciated. Please try it out and let us know what you think. If you post your Tip Card and tag Code we’ll send you a tip!show more

No arms ➡️ better legs A go-to for Christian... Korfist for taking the arms out of the equation to force the legs to do more of the work Normally in sprinting, the arms help balance the cross-crawl pattern. But remove that, and the athlete has to run more efficiently and effectively from the lower body alone Add assisted sprinting to the mix and it’s a powerful way to challenge an athlete's coordination and outputshow more

Wondering if you are “quad dominant” in your throw... and if you should change it? Maybe you shouldn’t 🤷‍♂️ A coach’s post coming from Austin Roark 🚀⠀ -⠀ One question I get from a lot of athletes is whether they should change their lower half because their knee is over their toe during their loading phase down the mound. ⠀ -⠀ The biggest thing that I look for when trying to figure out if it is an issue or not is to see how they are able to get out of that position. Some guys are able to leverage and rotate from that position extremely well, which then I would say that it’s not an issue.⠀ -⠀ On the other hand, there are some guys who will get out of this position by driving extension out of their back leg, killing their ability to rotate their pelvis and get it in an open position into landing.⠀ -⠀ This is when I would suggest trying to make a change. I think a lot of people jump into certain ideologies that you shouldn’t do certain things because it’s “inefficient” or it looks “wrong”. ⠀ -⠀ Take a look at these pitchers shown in the video. All 3 of these high level arms have some degree of knee flexion over their toe. Now, granted, they all have insane levers to help them, but the way they are moving is what makes them efficient in how they throw. ⠀ -⠀ I think if you told Dustin May that he had to hold a vertical shin down the mound, it would be a disaster and mess a lot of things up upstream that would impact him in a negative way.⠀ -⠀ The big takeaway here is that there are no absolutes. One thing that may look inefficient to you could be the thing that makes someone else very efficient.⠀ -⠀ When trying to figure out if you should change something about someone's delivery, make sure to look at the entire unit as a whole and don’t jump into any quick changes.show more

SPRING WATER > DEAD WATER Most people are drinking... dead water! The quality of your water is of the utmost importance to superior health and inner energetic vibrancy! Either tap water from old municipal water pipes with heavy metal build up and other pollution - or water that’s been sitting in a plastic bottle for months. The structure of which means the H2O molecules are clumped together, lowering the efficiency that your cells can absorb the water. You can vortex water to bring these molecules back into a better electrical charge, but natural spring water having bubbled through the Earth is perfectly aligned and structured Additionally, most spring waters contain powerful minerals content in their natural form. You can also bring dead water back to life by adding structured living water to it - such as a squeeze of fresh juice or a little bit of fresh spring water to a larger bottle of dead water. So go to Findaspring . com and take glass bottles to go fill up your spring water today.show more

⚾️ Why shouldn’t we use feet to measure intensity?... Have you seen somebody throw 90 MPH from 90’? Have you seen somebody throw 65 MPH from 90’? Yes and Yes! Ok, Bad metric for our goals ⚾️ Why shouldn’t we use Perceived % intensity? We have all seen Little Johnny throw his 50% bullpen at 80 MPH. No, he does not Sit 160 MPH in games last we checked. Too subjective of a metric With all the technology and advancements in the game, there is no way we should be measuring build up throwing intensities with “Feet Thrown” or a “Subjective %” We need to be able to quantify the single most important component of a Rehab or Build Up throwing Progression: INTENSITY HERES WHY: ⚾️ For any throwing progression, the goal is to introduce a slightly higher stress to the arm, then let their body adapt to the new stress, making it their new baseline. Then, make another small increase in the stresses and repeating this process until they have returned to their normal Freqs, Intensities, and Volumes ⚾️ Too big of a Spike which could occur from both errors in being too aggressive or too conservative then having to ramp up to return to a game can be a cause a failed Return to Play Here’s a simple fix: Use A Radar Gun ✅ Instant Feedback for Athletes to stay in a Goal Velo Range ✅ Very digestible metric for Athletes to comprehend and understand ✅ Avoids the flaws at both ends of either overstressing or understressing the armshow more
