#VCFD along with our partners at Ventura City Fire,... Oxnard Fire and Santa Paula PD responded to a working structure fire in Santa Paula this morning. Arriving crews were met with heavy smoke and flames showing from the residence with reports of a victim trapped. FFs conducted a rapid and aggressive primary search to locate the victim who was ultimately discovered to have escaped on her own. 2 patients were treated for minor injuries and transported to an area hospital. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.show more

The IDF releases footage showing its drone strikes on... a group of at least 18 gunmen that attacked an army encampment in southern Gaza's Khan Younis this morning. During the incident, the terror operatives emerged from a tunnel and opened fire with machine guns and RPGs, while approaching the encampment. Some of the gunmen managed to breach into the encampment, where they exchanged fire with troops of the Kfir Brigade. At least 10 of the operatives were killed by the troops and in airstrikes directed by the forces, while eight managed to flee back into the tunnel, according to an army probe. Three soldiers were injured in the incident, including one in serious condition.show more

The sting from the cold water only lasted a... second as I slowly crouched between a few barnacle-laden rocks and patiently waited for the lone skimmer I had been watching to return. The bird had cut a very familiar pattern through the water, and I was sure it would eventually make its way right back to me. To my surprise, 2 of them returned, and for a few seconds, they performed a perfectly synchronized, choreographed dance just above the surface of the water. The hypothermia from the waist down was well worth it because these birds continued to skim right in front of me for about 25 minutes!!! I decided to use Gemini to build it, and it actually gave me something really cute like you’ll see in the video below. But I still can’t change the pictures to my own. I’ve tried prompting it.
