This morning, I conducted an unannounced inspection at Queens... College, Yaba, Lagos, to assess its current infrastructure, leadership, and the welfare of the students. Upon my arrival at 7:45 AM, I was pleased to see the majority of students lining up for assembly, with both the academic and non-academic staff, including the principal, already present and ready to begin the school day. During my visit, I held separate discussions with students, teachers, and the principal to better understand their challenges and needs. It is clear that the school requires significant infrastructural improvements to adequately and safely accommodate its students and staff. Queens College, established almost 100 years ago, has long surpassed its original capacity. To ensure that our students benefit from an appropriate student-to-teacher ratio, sufficient resources, and adequate facilities for boarding and feeding, we must maintain a standard capacity across all Unity Schools and Federal Government Colleges. In line with our commitment to promoting quality assurance in education, the Federal Ministry of Education will collaborate with Principal Obabori and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to redesign, refurbish, and build new facilities at Queens College, including a library, dining areas, hostels, and classrooms. Over the next several months, I will be conducting unannounced visits to other Unity Schools and Federal Colleges. Earlier today, I had the privilege of touring the... Teknowledge office in Lagos alongside the Honorable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande (Ayodele Olawande ). Also present was Niyi Odejobi, as we explored the groundbreaking work Teknowledge is doing to drive technological innovation and youth empowerment in Nigeria. Teknowledge is dedicated to equipping young Nigerians with the skills and resources they need to thrive in the digital economy. Through specialized training in software development, artificial intelligence, digital entrepreneurship, and startup incubation, the organization is helping bridge the digital skills gap, fostering innovation, and creating opportunities for young people to excel. Their work is shaping a future where Nigerian youth are not just consumers of technology but active creators and leaders in the space. During the visit, the Minister was visibly impressed by the impact Teknowledge is making. In line with this vision, I recently organized a football competition for the youth across Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II as part of my continuous commitment to youth engagement, talent discovery, and community development. This tournament was not just about football; it was about bringing together young people from different communities under one common purpose: to foster unity, encourage sportsmanship, promote discipline, and strengthen the spirit of togetherness among our people. I was delighted to witness active participation from youths across Ishaga, Ilasamaja, Ajao Estate, Okota, Isolo, Palace Boys, Ejigbo, Oke-Afa, and Ire-Akari, all coming together to compete, connect, and celebrate the power of sports. Football remains a powerful tool for social inclusion and positive engagement. It teaches teamwork, resilience, leadership, discipline, dedication, and mutual respect. Through this competition, our youth had the opportunity to showcase their talents, build friendships across communities, and channel their energy into something productive and inspiring. To ensure this initiative goes beyond recreation, professional scouts were present throughout the tournament to identify exceptional talents. I am pleased to share that selected outstanding players have been penned down for sponsorship opportunities to Spain, where they will be exposed to greater football development opportunities and international experience. The atmosphere throughout the tournament was electrifying, with impressive displays of skill, passion, determination, and competitive excellence. This is not what we Ukrainians would want to... see from our windows in winter. It would be better if the voices and laughter of children making snowmen or playing snowballs echoed from the courtyards of residential areas. You cannot distract yourself from thoughts of the war for long; it continues, and everything around us tries to remind us of that. Over the years, the brain tries to pretend it has adapted to everything happening around it - to what the ears hear and the eyes see, to the various situations that occur here every day. But sanity is always on guard, and an inner voice says without words: this is not a normal life for a human being; if only everything could return to the way it was before. But is it even possible to return to the life we had, carrying such an experience on our shoulders? … Now, in the "points of warmth," you can see beds. You might ask: are these for overnight stays? 🚨HAPPENING NOW: Leftwing agitators are swarming the University of... Memphis ahead of tonight's campus event with Kyle Rittenhouse, chanting "Lock his a** up" and later "F*** his a** up." The school has gone to incredible lengths to hamstring this event, including: 1 - Forcing us to change our ticketing system the day of the event. The university's excuse is they want to ensure "fair and equitable" ticketing. This means the hundreds of students who thought they had tickets will not get in. This has never happened at one of our events. 2 - Protester groups were somehow tipped off about the school's new ticketing system and the timing of when they'd be made available, allowing them to reserve large numbers of tickets to stage a walk out. We know this because our students are also in those group chats and alerted us. This also has never happened before. 3 - We had thousands of people register for tickets to this event, but the school would only give us a venue with 330 seat. No overflow. No larger venue. 4 - Our chapter president has been doxxed with his number and address published on social media. The campus police and school administrator shrugged their shoulders. 5 - The administration has said they cannot step in or ask protesters to leave if they attempt to disrupt the event or shout down Kyle. 6 - The school has allowed into the event the student that doxxed our chapter president, knowing this person was responsible for the doxxing. 7 - The protestors have entered the event and are taping the names of the people involved in Kyle Rittenhouse’s legal defense. The school is not stopping them. This is what happens when school administrators pander to petulant children. You get chaos. Our brave students will press forward but this is unacceptable, especially in a Tennessee. For years, drugs have threatened families, destroyed young lives and weakened communities. But the scenes witnessed today showed that society is no longer willing to remain silent. Young people, elders, students, community leaders and ordinary citizens came together with a shared purpose: to reclaim their future. What makes this movement significant is that it is no longer confined to government institutions. It is gradually becoming a people's campaign. People have spent months complaining about Keir Starmer. They've... complained about immigration. They've complained about the economy. They've complained about taxes. Millions of people are struggling. Millions of people are unhappy with the state of the country. Yet when it comes to deciding who leads it next, they don't get a say. Instead, politicians make the decision behind closed doors and the public is expected to just accept it. If people are unhappy enough to force one Prime Minister out, surely they should have a say in who replaces him. Otherwise, what's the point? We keep hearing about democracy, yet ordinary people are expected to sit quietly while one leader is swapped for another and nothing fundamentally changes. And if we keep accepting it, why would they stop? Why would they listen? Why would anything improve? We'll just keep moving from one disappointment to the next while being told this time will be different. At some point, people need to stop accepting whatever they're given and start demanding a voice in the decisions that affect their lives. Because if nobody speaks up, don't be surprised when the same thing keeps happening over and over again. So here I am, speaking out. Now it's your turn. Because if you don't make sure you're heard, nothing changes. Politicians won't suddenly wake up tomorrow and start listening. They'll keep doing exactly what they've been doing for years. The Canadian state is in the same position that... post-war conservatives faced during the leftist cultural revolution of the 1960s. Ideological vanguards emerged across occupations and education levels, coalescing around a shared umbrella of ideas, too numerous to effectively police or contain. With the construction of the managerial state in Anglo-Canada, combined with the left-liberal long march through the institutions, this cultural revolution gained the means to entrench itself. It used expanding state power to formally impose its ideology over three generations. The result is the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the broader liberal post-national project, advanced under the bilingual political class of figures like Jack Pickersgill, Louis St. Laurent, Lester B. Pearson, Pierre Trudeau, and Paul Yucyk, alongside intellectuals such as J.M. Bumstead, Will Kymlicka, Ninette Kelley, and Michael Trebicock, all with assistance from U.S. agencies. This version of Canada, defined by the cultural mosaic, state-enforced diversity, social liberalism, and the prioritization of individual minority rights for foreign diasporas over the binational core, has long since entrenched itself. It is now calcified and brittle. As that brittleness increases, so does its tendency to lash out, resorting to illiberal tactics such as Zersetzung. The popular, ideological, and political coherence of this era is now visibly eroding, most clearly reflected in the growing tensions between youth and the old. The image of the Brantford boomer giving two middle fingers to the younger generation captures it well. What remains is a stale, defensive regime clinging to a dying post-war liberal order. As Saturn and the Titans overthrew Uranus, so too will a new generation seek to overthrow the current order, just as Jupiter cast down the Titans and established a new regime in their place.show more

China is my 61st country 🇨🇳 I’ve spent 2... days in Shenzhen and here’s what amazed me: - Scale! Everything is huge. The city itself is 2x Hong Kong size or 33% Canada size. It easily takes 30-50 min by car or tube to go from one area to another. - Very high tech. Robot deliveries for in-room dining, drones delivering food in the parks, 10 stories robotics markets. - There are also robocard without drivers in some areas but I didn’t have time to try it. - Extremely green. Shenzhen pioneers the concept of harmony between nature and urban planning. It’s basically a city embedded into mountains, sea and greenery. Parks everywhere. - Immaculately clean everywhere from streets to casual eateries. Very high contrast with Yangshuo where I was before. - High patriotism and love for the country & people in every detail. Looks like a great city to live in. - Though nothing is equipped for handicapped people - in general saw this across China so far - The city is very young - only 49 years old. And looks like the population is very young, too. I’ve seen maybe 5% of people over 50 years old on the streets. the only place in China so far where I was constantly asked for Chinese phone number for payments. Still don’t know why. - Very limited English, despite high tech and education. Hotel / restaurant staff didn’t speak at all. Almost no English explanations in museums even - to me it feels like a statement that West is not needed here - Smoking cult. Everywhere, even the room in my non-smoking hotel smelled of cigarettes - A lot of parks, squares and communal areas where people do sports, dance, sing and socialise - Incredible architecture!
