In recent days Israel has placed a greater emphasis... on striking industrial targets in Iran, with the most significant in recent memory being: - Khuzestan Steel Company, Ahvaz - Khuzestan Oxin Steel Company, Ahvaz - Mobarakeh Steel Complex, southwest of Isfahan - Mobarakeh Steel Power Plant (supplies energy to the steel complex) - Powder Metallurgy Company, Neyshabur Industrial Town - Shahid Shafizadeh Industries Company, Alborz Industrial - Kheyr Abad Industrial Town, east of Arak, was just warned - Shamsabad Industrial Town, south of Eslamshahr - Nasirabad Industrial Town, southwest of Eslamshahr - Segzi Industrial Town, east of Isfahan The above list is just a sample of the industrial targets affected by strikes over the past 1-2 days. Many of these facilities are dual-use, and so too were the intentions of the Israeli strikes. Large-scale steel production complexes support construction, automotives, appliances, and pipe manufacturing. It's also critical for military vehicles and launch platforms. Specialized heavy steel plate rolling mills support energy transmission lines, pressure vessels, shipbuilding, and storage tanks. They have many military applications such as producing the hull sections of naval vessels, storage tanks for propellants, and steel plates for TELs and bunkers. Powder metallurgical plants produce machinery components, mining equipment, and specialized alloys. They can also be used to make precision components in guidance systems, warheads, or solid-propellant motors. The major industrial towns are made up of dozens of smaller factories or warehouses involved in metal fabrication, chemicals, plastics/polymers, construction materials, textiles, machinery assembly, bitumen processing, packaging, stone processing, and electronic goods. On one hand this attempt at crippling Iran's industrial base could destroy many of the raw materials necessary for future repairs/construction of military equipment and missile components. At the same time it would hamper Iran's domestic construction, automobile, appliance, piping, and petrochemical sectors. This would diminish Iran's export revenue, create shortages of basic materials, and worsen inflation and unemployment.show more

🚨 JUST IN: Pakistan, Saudi Arabia & Türkiye Sign... ‘Attack on One is Attack on All’ Defence Pact: What It Means for 🇮🇳 India 👇 Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye on Friday signed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement in Mecca. The key point of the deal is simple: if any one of the three countries faces an armed attack, the other two will treat it as an attack on themselves too. 🇮🇳 India is watching the development closely. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the government is “closely following” the pact and will share updates. While the agreement is officially defensive and not aimed at any country, Indian experts are studying how it could affect regional security balances. India’s strong economic and strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia remains intact and is expected to act as a balancing factor. Around the same time, 🇮🇳 Prime Minister Narendra Modi and 🇮🇱 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke on the phone. They discussed the India-Israel special strategic partnership and the overall situation in West Asia. Some reports suggest the upcoming defence pact among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye also came up in the conversation. India and Israel continue to deepen defence and technology cooperation, which many see as an important part of New Delhi’s broader regional strategy. The full details of how the new pact will work on the ground are still emerging. India is monitoring the situation carefully while keeping its own partnerships strong.show more

Maharashtra Fast-Tracks Industrial Growth with Bold Reforms🚀 Chaired the... Ease of Doing Business War Room Meeting in Mumbai today, reaffirming Maharashtra’s commitment to remain the top destination for foreign direct investment and to swiftly convert these investments into thriving industries. Directed the administration to reduce the number of permissions required, ensuring that new entrepreneurs save valuable time and resources. To strengthen investor confidence, the Urban Development Department has been tasked with developing an AI-driven online system for building construction permissions. Under this model, once applications are submitted as per norms, documents will be verified automatically, and permissions granted seamlessly, eliminating delays and ensuring speed. Further reforms include the creation of a single-window mechanism for industrial approvals, exemption of multiple permissions for industries under the green pollution category for a specified period, and decentralising many permissions to the district level for faster processing. These measures will significantly cut red tape and simplify compliance. By eliminating obstacles and creating a truly industry-friendly ecosystem, Maharashtra is building an environment where entrepreneurs can focus on innovation and growth rather than navigating bureaucracy. With seriousness in implementation and proactive reforms, the State will continue to attract large-scale investment, accelerate industrial growth, and progress steadily towards the vision of becoming India’s first $1 trillion sub-national economy. #EaseOfDoingBusiness #InvestInMaharashtra #IndustrialGrowthshow more

Construction of the 3.2-kilometre Magufuli Bridge on Lake Victoria was initiated by the former president in December 2019. President Samia Suluhu Hassan, who came into office in March 2021, is expected to officially inaugurate the mammoth project before the end of the year. The project was initially scheduled for completion in July 2023, but construction was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Originally known as the Kigongo-Busisi Bridge, the Chinese-built mega infrastructure was renamed Magufuli Bridge in honour of the former president. The project is being developed by the China Civil Engineering Construction Group (CCECG) and China Railway. The bridge was entirely financed by the government of Tanzania through its own revenues. The People's Daily, the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), said construction of the bridge was completed on October 6. "As the last tank of cement was poured on Sunday, the construction of the Magufuli Bridge was completed by two Chinese companies in Tanzania's northwestern Mwanza region," the People's Daily said in an online post. "The Magufuli Bridge is the only extra-dosed cable-stayed bridge in the Lake Victoria region and the longest of its kind in Africa." The bridge will also become among the Top 10 longest bridges in Africa. This is GIFT City. But this post is about... Gurugram. Wide roads. Underground utility tunnels. District cooling. Automated waste collection. Green-certified buildings. More than 1,200 registered entities and $111 billion in banking assets. It is not Shanghai, Shenzhen or Dubai yet. But the direction is visible. Gujarat imagined a city that could compete with global financial centres. Then it started building the infrastructure required for that ambition. Now come to Gurugram. The city credited with contributing around 65% of Haryana’s revenue. Around 25% of the state’s GST collection comes from Gurugram. Last year, it contributed ₹3,875 crore from liquor-zone auctions alone. That was 27% of Haryana’s total. The Bristol Chowk licensing zone alone fetched nearly ₹100 crore. Mr Nayab Singh Saini, what exactly is Gurugram getting in return? Garbage is lying on roads across the city. Gurugram generates around 1,200 tonnes of waste every day. The waste collection system has survived on temporary arrangements since the main contract was terminated in June 2024. Nearly two years later, the city is still floating tenders and searching for a permanent solution. Then come the roads. An MCG survey found more than 2,000 potholes across eight zones. One division alone had 600. Only 387 had been repaired when those numbers were reported. By February 2026, MCG had to announce another drive targeting 5,000 potholes in ten days. We do not have a road-maintenance system. We have pothole-filling announcements after every round of public outrage. Then it rains. In July 2025, 133 mm of overnight rain brought Gurugram to a standstill. Subhash Chowk had around 2.5 feet of water. People remained stuck in traffic until 2 AM. Open manholes disappear under rainwater. Potholes become invisible. Roads turn into accident traps. Then the electricity goes. A resident of DLF Phase 1 reported an eight-hour power cut after a five-minute drizzle. In May 2026, a fault at the Sector 72 substation disrupted eight substations and even affected Rapid Metro operations. This is happening in one of the most expensive corporate and residential districts in India. And money is not the problem. MCG spent ₹1,282 crore out of its ₹1,497 crore expenditure budget by January 2026. But only ₹85 crore had gone towards road construction and ₹240 crore towards sanitation and waste management. So the problem is worse than merely having an unspent budget. Money is being spent. Residents simply cannot see the outcome on the roads outside their homes. We are not asking Haryana to build another GIFT City tomorrow. We are asking for three things. Roads that remain usable after rain. Electricity that does not disappear with the first storm. Garbage that gets collected before every vacant plot becomes a dumping ground. These are not luxury demands. These are the most basic functions of a government. Property prices in Gurugram have reached global-city levels. People are paying ₹5 crore, ₹8 crore and ₹10 crore for apartments. But outside the gates, the roads, drains and electricity systems still feel like they belong to another decade. Gujarat looked at an empty piece of land and imagined a global city. Haryana already has one of India’s strongest economic cities. It does not need to imagine it. It only needs to stop neglecting it. Fix the roads. Fix the power. Pick up the garbage. That is all Gurugram is asking for. Video credit, Reddit: [aamirusiddiqui]show more

Interestingly, Xynova’s technological approach shares the same origins as... the dexterous hand technology used in Optimus v3 (though Elon has noted that this design still needs further refinement). The Flex2 is an upgraded version built on the Flex1: v1 featured 25 DOF and used a cable-driven system; the v2 introduces direct drive, which reduces the DOF to 23 but also sheds 400g in weight. It seems a hybrid drive mechanism may be the more practical solution. In March this year, following the successful completion of its Series A funding round (with investors including Xiaomi and others), this robotics company--founded in 2024--began construction of a large-scale production facility. Spanning over 5,000 square meters, the base is designed to achieve an annual output of 200,000 miniature electric cylinders and 10,000 dexterous hands. However, hardware alone is far from enough. A truly capable dexterous hand must be the result of the co-evolution of data, models, and the physical hardware. In other words, in addition to mass production, Xynova is simultaneously developing a complete integrated system that combines perception capabilities, robotic manipulation intelligence, and hand-specific coordination. This is essentially a foundational robotic module. Yet its applications go far beyond that. It can be directly adapted to industrial robotic arms on production lines, as well as integrated into the bodies of humanoid robots. That said, what I’m most eager to see is its use in advanced bionic prosthetics for humans. If it can successfully demonstrate this expanded capability, its impact will reach well beyond the realm of humanoid robots. (Cyborg)show more
