More than 30 people have been killed in Pakistani airstrikes in the remote #TirahValley of #Khyber tribal district. According to local journalists, the strikes took place at around 2 a.m. near Matray Dara in Aka Khel Shadla, where more than five houses were targeted. The bombardment killed dozens of people, including women and children, while many others remain trapped under the rubble. Fears of a rising death toll have been expressed. #Terrorism #Pakistan

Officials in #Bannu #Khyber #Pakhtunkhwa say militants have launched attack on a police station and both sides are exchanging gunfire. No report of casualties yet. Police said heavily armed militants attacked Kangar Pul police post in Mandan police station area. They attacked the police post with snipers and heavy weapons. Heavy exchange of fire between attackers and police is ongoing. More police personnel have been sent to the scene. RPO Sajjad Khan said The morale of the police force is high, the terrorists will be fought vigorously.

A loya jirga or grand assembly called by the Awami National Party (ANP) Awami National Party #Khyber #Pakhtunkhwa Monday rejected imposition of taxes in %Malakand Division and ex #FATA and termed the taxes are against the historic, constitutional and legal promises. “These taxes would not be accepted,” a declaration said. #The jirga demanded of the federal government to withdraw the decision about the taxes in Malakand and in merged districts. The jirga also urged the provincial govt to take withdrawal the sales tax imposed since 2024. The declaration said Malakand and ex FATA was badly affected by the terrorism, floods and natural disasters where people suffered human and financial losses and their businesses also affected.
