#Somalia | Video shows the final moments of a Somalia Federal Government soldier from the “Xawaadle” clan pleading for mercy after being stopped by an “Abgaal” clan militia before being killed. The soldier, who served in Lower Shabeelle, was reportedly on medical leave and travelling toward Buulo Burte, Hiiraan, when he was intercepted. He told the gunmen he was sick and appealed to them as his uncles because his mother was “Abgaal,” but despite those maternal ties, he was still killed, reportedly because he was “Xawaadle.” The killing comes amid recent tensions between the “Xawaadle” and “Abgaal” communities along the border between Hiiraan and Middle Shabeelle. A similar clan-related killing of six “Xawaadle” federal soldiers occurred in Ceel Baraf on 26 December 2024.

The FAKE Issaq Genocide they keep going about this is the man that made is possible #Somalia did not face an imaginary enemy in the 1980s. The SNM was an organised armed insurgency that attacked government forces and sought to overthrow the existing state. Somalia, like Turkey against the PKK, Sri Lanka against the LTTE, Colombia against FARC and many other countries confronting armed rebellions, had the right to defend its institutions and territorial integrity. That historical fact should not be erased. At the same time, defending the state did not justify indiscriminate attacks or crimes against civilians. The history should be told in full neither romanticising the rebels nor excusing abuses committed by the government. But all I see is one side SNM Mafia version!
