It is funny watching Korean American boba libs call Korea backwards and sexist. I am thinking it could actually use a little more of that. Korean women are still far more feminine and less feminist than Western women. They tend to be polite and gentle. The radical 4B feminists are only a tiny minority that most reject. This is exactly why I connect so much more with Koreans from Korea.

Suppose an AI model fully automates a $200k job. Its economic value - measured in contribution to GDP - will be both far more and far less than $200k. There are two ways of thinking about the model's economic value: (1) It'll be far more than $200k. After all, the human worker's labor was worth $200k; AI workers will have a bunch of advantages over humans, like not needing to sleep and being able to run in parallel, so their labor will be worth even more. (2) It'll be far less than $200k. Competition between labs might drive the price of AI down until it's basically equal to the cost of the GPUs and energy. And this is obviously way lower than the human worker's contribution to GDP. The important idea is that both are right. The marginal contribution to GDP of running an additional instance of this model will probably be relatively low. But we'll end up running way more copies of it, so the model's total contribution to GDP will be way higher than the human workers it replaced.

There are two ways of thinking about the model's economic value: (1) It'll be far more than $200k. After all, the human worker's labor was worth $200k; AI workers will have a bunch of advantages over humans, like not needing to sleep and being able to run in parallel, so their labor will be worth even more. (2) It'll be far less than $200k. Competition between labs might drive the price of AI down until it's basically equal to the cost of the GPUs and energy. And this is obviously way lower than the human worker's contribution to GDP. The important idea is that both are right. The marginal contribution to GDP of running an additional instance of this model will probably be relatively low. But we'll end up running way more copies of it, so the model's total contribution to GDP will be way higher than the human workers it replaced.

A conversational agent with no hallucinations! This is huge! Here is the $1M problem: Build a customer-facing AI agent that works consistently, doesn't hallucinate, and is fully aligned with the business rules. Check out Parlant, a FREE, open-source library. I've talked about them before, and here is the TL;DR: 1. Parlant gives you 10x more control over what your agent says 2. It helps you control how agents conduct conversations 3. It helps you control the service protocols and rules agents follow 4. It helps you control what agents can and can't say They do something pretty clever: 1. They have a set of predefined potential responses that the agent can use to reply to the customer. 2. When a customer sends a message, the agent generates a fluid response draft using an LLM and matches and renders the closest pre-approved reply template. 3. The agent returns the rendered pre-approved reply, not the one generated by the LLM. This maintains fluidity while avoiding unpredictability. Parlant also uses your domain terminology, invokes your tools, and implements self-critique to craft/evaluate its response iteratively. This pretty much solves any hallucination issues with your agent.

So apparently at my tiny Little urgent care/ER we have diagnosed several cases of this over the last week alone. We are in southern Indiana. If my facility is diagnosing this many, that means it is far more wide spread than 100 cases nationwide . Make sure you are washing your produce thoroughly. One decent way to do that is sprinkle some baking soda over it, use a 50-50 water/vinegar mix and let it bubble off all the gunk. Then thoroughly rinse with freshwater and dry. Wash your hands, too!
