Only 90 people between the ages of 18-20 went to vote that were Black. Southern university has over 8,000 students, Grambling has over 4,000. Homecoming is on Oct 14th for both schools, that’s also Election Day. So voting early matters because we know you’re not missing the festivities. Let’s just keep it a buck. Do your part. People always want the advocates and activist to do the work, but our work becomes easier when we elect the right people. Dr. Shawn Wilson is a Black man w a PHD, he will make a great governor. He can’t get there with these numbers. Do your part. I sacrifice time from my family to fight for all our families. I get blocked out of contract opportunities because I fight like I do. A caller owes $430,000 in student loans... without becoming a doctor. (No degrees) Dave: How did you get that far into it and then not be able to pass the boards? Caller: I did fairly well in the first two years, but... being able to retain that and then recall it to the level of detail that I needed for the exams... I just couldn't put it all together at the end. Dave: Is there any way you can re-engage and still have a shot at finishing? Caller: Not without having to reapply and then go through the process all over again... and I'd have to take out more loans. Dave: So what has been your plan since then?" Caller: I was able to find a job as a substitute teacher, and I was hired as a high school biology teacher... but at this point I'm not sure. I thought about becoming a physician assistant, but that requires going into more debt. Dave: So what would it take to be a P.A. from where you are? Caller: I'd have to take another year of classes... then two and a half years for the program. That's probably another $60,000 to $70,000 plus living expenses." Dave: What about nursing? Caller: None of the med school work I've done applies to anything else. I have the debt... but none of the courses, none of it actually transfers to anything. Dave: Wow. Huge business news! 🚨 Last night’s State of the Union address, President Trump suggested he would reinstate bonus depreciation retroactively to January 1, 2025. Bonus depreciation allows businesses to immediately deduct a large percentage of the cost of qualifying assets in the year they are placed in service, rather than spreading the deduction over several years. It falls under Section 168(k) of the Internal Revenue Code. Under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, businesses could deduct 100% of certain asset purchases, but this benefit has been gradually phasing out. Reinstating bonus depreciation would make it easier for businesses to invest in equipment, technology, and infrastructure. This move would likely spur economic growth by encouraging companies to spend more, expand faster, and create jobs. Note that reinstating bonus depreciation isn’t something the president can do alone. It would require an act of Congress to change the tax code and restore 100% bonus depreciation. That means both the House and Senate would need to pass legislation, and the president would have to sign it into law. We’ll keep you updated as more details emerge.

Today’s sermon is reserved for President Yoweri K Museveni and his colleagues in government like the @IGGBetiKamya who, by failing to fight corruption, are selling our country to debt-giving imperialists. They really are the true agents of imperialism and not activists like myself, Public Square and our comrades at Agora Discourse that they keep labeling this for fun. They’re the true “mistake makers”. See, Uganda’s budget has gone up from UGX. 52.7 trillion in FY 2023/24 to UGX. 72 trillion for FY 2024/25. Of this, the government projects that it will collect 32.3 trillion shillings, less than 45% of its own budget. This is voodoo economics. The gov’t plans to make up for this 55% shortfall by borrowing. The plan is to borrow about UGX 9 trillion from the domestic market, effectively starving local businesses, from which they plan to collect domestic taxes, of much needed financing. So, just over 12% of our budget will be borrowed locally. “Local” banks are really only local in name. The real owners are chilling in imperialist capitals, so even what they call domestic debt has mainly imperialist capital and the very few Ugandans who listen to Kakande Alex’s bonds gospel. The rest of our budget will either come from grants from imperialists but most importantly from foreign debt that our grand children will have to pay, for the right to live in a potholed, diseased country. Currently, our public debt is hovering above UGX 97 trillion and it would have been worse if imperialists didn’t at one time forgive our debt. By end of FY 2024/25, that imperialist agency, IMF projects that our public debt will be just under UGX 111 trillion. AND we are still digging. You’ll obviously hear some economists and talking heads in expensive suits come out to tell you that our debt to GDP ratio is still fine but don’t fall for that. It has inched higher than 53%. The World Bank’s benchmark for healthy debt is at 50%. Domestic interest payment to revenue ratio is at 16.3%, higher than the 12.5% benchmark. We are overachieving on the wrong indicators. To compound our misery, we have passed silly laws like the AHA which have meant that we can’t easily get external grants that used to shore up our economy. Add the Moody downgrade and you realize that we are gonna have to borrow at high interest rates to finance our corruption. “Corruption on a credit card” sounds like fiction. Not for our Uganda. In all this, the owners of our public debt; those imperialists our President loves to hate, are laughing all the way to the bank. The reason for this isn’t because of human rights activists and people calling for the end of corruption. Those just get cashless placards from EU in Uganda and threats of danger from the state. More on this in a later op-ed. The real agents of imperialism are the government officials who are mortgaging our collective future so they can finance their wanton greed. In medieval Europe, these would be roasted at the stake, for women and hanged if they were men. Here, we hand them heroes’ awards on June 9th.

When you actually read the Big Beautiful Bill “Cuts to Medicaid” you’ll realize every Democrat and mainstream media outlet is lying through their teeth No American would ever be against any of this, here are the facts “Here is just the first page of the cuts: -Cut number 1, saving $35 billion over 10 years. Limit federal health program eligibility based on citizenship status. That's just saying that people who are here illegally don't get to use Medicaid. It's something you have told us isn't happening anyway, so you obviously agree with that cut. - Cut number 2, eliminate Medicare coverage of bad debt, saving 42 billion over 10 years. Do you know what bad debt is? You probably don't, so let me explain it to you. Bad debt is where you have a debt with a hospital beyond what your coverage pays. So like let's say you have private health insurance. Now, your health insurance is going to pay their piece and then you have your leftover piece. Now if you don't pay that, that is what's known as bad debt. Now under no circumstances will your private health insur cover your bad debt. However, if you have Medicaid, the American taxpayer will cover up to 65% of that debt. Now, how hospitals use that to their advantage is they up the prices for people on Medicaid, therefore making that bad debt increase dramatically and the American taxpayer pays 65% of it. All this would say is that we're not going to do that anymore. Therefore hospitals can't charge more for people on Medicaid because they're not going to make any extra money from it. Who the is opposed to that? - Cut number 3: Next Medicare site neutrality set to save $148 billion over the 10 years. That one's actually really simple. All that says is the hospitals can't charge people on Medicare and Medicaid more. It just says they have to charge people on Medicare and Medicaid the same prices they charge people on private health insurance or cash. Is there anyone who's opposed to that? No, I didn't think so. Now, from just those 3, we're looking at $200 plus billion dollars in savings. Now, I imagine if I said we're going to cut $200 billion for Medicaid, y' all would freak the out. However, when you do a little bit of research, when you actually look into the topic that you're bitching about, making tiktoks about, you can see that. That $200 billion worth of cuts you agree with, Like, I just showed you one quarter of all the cuts they want to make. And here's the thing. If you remotely have f*cking common sense, you don't disagree with any of them.“

Germany ran out of money to support Ukraine and is legally prevented to make more debt, that caused a clash within the government and it collapsed! (There were more problems, but that “straw broke the camels back”.) -> There is a “debt break” law, that prevents the German government to take on debt beyond an allowed sum, which Germany exhaust already. 1) According to chancellor Scholz, not being able to finance Ukraine or decrease financing of social spending to free money for Ukraine is an extraordinarily emergency situation that threatens Germany. So Scholz demanded from the finance minister to suspend the law and allow the take on more debt to pay for and send to Ukraine. The plan was to just make more debt for Ukraine. 2) But the finance minister refused to do that, since that would breach the oath of he gave to Germany as a finance minister. Essentially Ukraine collapse is of course is not threatening Germany, just Scholz and his government personally. 3) Scholz fired the finance minister Lindner for not obeying his wish. 4) The party of the finance minister FDP, in reaction retracted from the ruling government! The ruling government consisted out of 3 parties: SPD (Scholz’s party), the Green Party and the FDP. This is needed to form a majority in the parliament. But now one of these parties retracted from the coalition, hence the German government is now ruling with minority. 5) Scholz said “we have no time”, because he wants to finance Ukraine quickly before elections. So he is appointing new ministers for the now empty positions of the withdrawn FDP party. -> Technically (and legally) that is extremely questionable, since the government officially has no majority. So how is making critical decisions? Looks like Scholz wants to push through the Ukraine funding no matter what. 6) The opposition demands new elections quickly, but Scholz wants to govern with the support of the opposition for now. It is a clown show. For now the elections are rumored to come in March 2025. -> The “collective west” collapses on the back of Ukraine. USA Is lucky and likely steps back from this nonsense with Trump. Democracy apparently works without a majority as well.
