That it’s reversible( to a great extent) as opposed to cirrhosis is the take home message & that it calls for the most difficult albeit free of cost option Life Style modification !

This video contents are absurd and stupid suggestions in my view because when you dont change fundamentals you will never change anything in life. liver does 2 things 1 is digestion 2nd is cleaning when you eat at night especially after 8 PM liver starts working on digest the food so there is going to be no cleaning or rest for the body even though we feel we slept but the reality is our liver only digest at night if we eat at night. so, if you want to reduce your fatty liver you need to stop eating dinner at night after 7 or 8 PM. instead of eating 8 PM dinner you can finish dinner at 5 PM or 6 PM so that liver does the digest for almost 6 to 8 hrs. at least you can sleep for almost 6 hrs. till morning 6 AM. Otherwise, no use because you eat breakfast lunch dinner so there is no time for liver to clean the body and give rest. Your stupid suggestions are stupid like you stop misleading people. Most people eat dead food with Salt and Sugar. (When you boil or fry any food that will become dead) There are 2 poisons people are consuming worldwide those are Salt and Sugar. So, stop eating salt and sugar (no animal or plant or any kind of living being on this planet eat salt and sugar with cooked food and never gets BP, Sugar, Fatty liver etc. Basically, we design to eat raw fruits, vegetables grains nuts. That’s why our human mouth is very small. Because of our intelligence we start eating whatever we want. If we really progress by science, then there shouldn’t be any hospitals and diseases in the first place. So, we have all kinds of diseases, all kinds of hospitals and artificial medicines for everything. So start thinking about basics and fundamentals and start change them.

This is the boomer uncle who Raj Shamani invited to his podcast to talk on medical and health. The guy who said "Ghee" (also called clarified butter) is a fat burner. Ghee is heavy on saturated fats and every single nutrition and cardiology clinical societies recommend limiting saturated fats. See here: American Heart Association Presidential Advisory on Dietary Fats For lack of a better description, protoplasmic masses without neuronal cohesion, like this guy here, Mr. Prashant Desai, who has absolutely no training in medical and healthcare, who flaunts toilet paper value nutrition certificates for his video background and without an ounce of scientific temper, talking absolute rubbish on nutrition and diet are the ones the public must stay away from. Look at this video. Nutrition and diet specialist Prashant Desai is holding up a bottle of alcohol and claiming that is causes "non-alcoholic" fatty liver. I mean it is like trying to convince the public by holding up a cat and saying its a dog. Basic IQ anyone? Mr. Desai further says non-alcoholic fatty liver never existed in children before 1980. This is absolutely wrong. Fatty liver had been identified in overfed children as early as 1849. His claim that fruit juice is the same as alcohol is also nonsense. He has no actual idea how nutrient metabolism works. Metabolism of alcohol and that of fruit juice (fructose) is completely different. High fructose intake is associated with increased risk of fatty liver disease. Even fresh fruits have fructose in them. The added sugars cause more harm than the natural sugars in your recommended daily portion of fruits/ fruit juices. See here: Alcohol metabolism and fatty liver: Fructose metabolism and fatty liver: Listen to certified clinical nutritionists and doctors. Reject fearmongering nutritional quacks like these. Their narratives harm the public health.

This absolutely annoying video has been in my Twitter and Instagram DMs so many times, I am unable to ignore it further because I really feel people have lost their power to think, forget getting to critical thinking. Claim 1: Half ounce extra virgin oilve oil + half ounce of fresh lemon juice + pinch of cayenne pepper for five mornings on empty stomach and then normal activity, diet and routines. Claim 2: Lady checked livers of people on this protocol before, during and after and found that terrible fatty livers became perfectly functioning liver just with this cleanse. I do not know where to start. Should I start by telling people that Hobbes was Calvin's imagination? People knew it, but we still believed everything Calvin went through with Hobbes. Even though he was not there. This video and its responses are kind of that. A collective delusion. This lady is real. The guy who is interviewing her is real and the braided-hair person listening to both of them is also real. But what is unreal is all that content about a liver cleanse for fatty liver, the woman goes on about. There is no study that checked livers of people on this protocol. There is nothing called a terrible fatty liver. People with fatty livers have inherently good functions. It does not need a cleanse. A poorly functioning liver is going through a liver-failure. It happens in end stage cirrhosis or acute liver failure. And even there, this cleanse does nothing. Please see these threads on fatty liver: 1/ 2/ 3/ 4/ The lady is a naturopath. Naturopaths are not doctors. They promote absolute clownery cleanses for everything from hair and nails, to large bowel and liver and immunity and cancers. And lemon, olive oil and cayenne pepper would always be there. Hell, they dont even have any clue about anatomy or physiology of humans. To be frank, they would not even know on which side of the body, the liver is. They have rented out their non-existent brains. The video is incomplete. It has been modified from its original. The real video is a recipe for a salad and not a liver cleanse. It has been edited from its original just until the salad dressing is discussed. Oilve oil, lemon, cayenne pepper.....followed by fresh lettuce & tomatoes, onions, boiled eggs and lightly baked potatoes with a hint of salt gives you a nice salad to start your day with. Add some tuna chunks if you feel like it. There is no liver cleanse. There is no natural way to "heal" the liver. You can make people believe there is one and make viral videos out of it and then maybe make little bottles of it and sell it to gullible ones and make good money off their ignorance and lack of critical thinking. The only thing that is being cleansed here is your intellectual capacity to differentiate bullshit from no-shit and your time, watching such horse-shit videos and for me, writing about it to make adults understand that it was all absolute BS.

One cup of coffee before 4 pm? - total blunder. I do not know why so many people follow this guy on Instagram. Half his content is lame jokes featuring two imaginary people named Saravana Kumar and Arockiasamy and the rest of it is poorly researched, vaguely discussed medical content that misleads & misinforms and in many videos he just randomly throws jargons like "gut health" and "fasting." See this video for instance. Dr. Pal says coffee is not good for the liver because there is no "good evidence" for it. And talks about polysaccharides in coffee that gets converted to short chain fatty acids that improve gut health. He then finally suggests that one cup of coffee before 4PM is good enough and prevents "further adverse effects of coffee." This man is dangerously peddling misinformation on a well studied and documented dietary intervention that spans decades - and in the form of large scale epidemiological studies and metanalysis of such studies, featuring more than 600,000 patients across the world. First, coffee related polysaccharides DOES NOT improve "gut health" - this has been shown in multiple studies from 2007 to 2018. The change of polysaccharides in coffee to short chain fatty acids is negligible and the effect of that on gut bacteria is also not signficant. "The growth of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli (good bacteria) was not stimulated by coffee - "However, caffeine and chlorogenic acid partially improved the disrupted short-chain fatty acid profile in mice, although coffee had no effects." - It is not polysaccharides, but the polyenols in coffee that is beneficial for the liver. This is independent of caffeine content and hence decaff is also healthy option for the liver. See here: In 2016 and 2017 the Institute for Scientific Information on Coffee in association with the British Liver Trust published a report that concluded that: - Regularly drinking moderate amounts of coffee may prevent liver cancer – which was reviewed by WHO and confirmed this reduced risk after reviewing more than 1,000 studies in humans - Coffee also lowers the risk of other liver conditions including fibrosis (scar tissue that builds up within the liver) and cirrhosis - Drinking coffee can slow the progression of liver disease in some patients - Beneficial effects have been found however the coffee is prepared – filtered, instant and espresso See here: In 2021, A large epidemiological study based on data from the UK Biobank in 384,818 people showed that all coffee types decrease the risk of adverse clinical outcomes in chronic liver disease. See here: In 2022, a nationally representative study from the USA showed in 4510 subjects, 20 years and older showed that coffee intake was associated with lower liver stiffness (scarring). See here: In 2023, the Canadian Liver Foundation noted in their release that one cup of black coffee a day could lower the risk of chronic liver disease by 15 per cent. About three to four cups a day can reduce the risk to 71 per cent - so the recommendation is at least 3 cups of black coffee without sugar & milk daily. The experts said that: “The great thing is it doesn’t really matter what way the coffee’s prepared. It can be decaf; it can be caffeinated. It can also be drip, French press, espresso, filtered, (and) instant. All the ways (show) that black coffee is effective for liver health.” See here: The American Liver Foundation advises including coffee in your diet to improve clinical outcomes in patients with fatty liver disease. See here: To avoid reductions in total sleep time, the last cup of coffee (the third cup, ideally 150ml in Indian standard) should be consumed at least 8 hours prior to bedtime. See here: These are just scratching the surface of evidence on benefits of coffee on the liver. And there is lack of evidence? What the mind does not know, the eyes cannot see. One cup of coffee before 4 PM? So lame. What is worse than pseudoscientific garbage like Homeopathy? - Legit doctors without a scientific temperament who misinform consistently. A legit bigger pain in the a** than Ayurveda and Homeopathy. Disclosure: I do not own stocks in any coffee company and have no involvement with the coffee industry and do not receive payments or honorarium from coffee industry stakeholders.
