After the chance of scattered storms Friday afternoon and evening, Friday night looks quiet in NTX. By early Saturday, another round of showers and storms will roll in. The severe risk with this looks very low. Saturday morning will have scattered rain, some heavy at times.

Here is a look at the rain that will move across Alabama after midnight tonight and during the day tomorrow (3km NAM model). Thankfully the air will be stable and severe storms are generally not expected. We will need to watch storms along the Gulf Coast, where a small amount of instability will be available, but even there lapse rates will be poor and the threat is low. Rain amounts of 1/2 to 1 inch are expected for most places.

LEVEL 2 SEVERE WEATHER ALERT DAY TODAY ⚠️⛈️ As expected, the SPC has placed most of the PIX11 News viewing area under a LEVEL 2 severe weather risk for damaging winds, dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning, torrential rainfall, and hail. The primary severe threat appears to be strong to damaging wind gusts and small hail, while the tornado threat remains low. A few storms could develop earlier this afternoon across the Lower Hudson Valley, NW New Jersey, Lehigh Valley, and the Poconos before a more organized line moves through late this evening. On PIX11 News at 9am with the latest timing and impacts.
