I’m giving an agent control over Reachy Mini from Hugging Face and letting it understand and share spatial data via Specs for Devs AR is the human interface for robotics and physical AI imo. It feels like absolute magic to interact with this, both in voice/agent and “puppeteering” mode. I’ll probably work on AR for either an arm (manipulation tasks) or some sort of drone (locomotion in 3D space) next… Project is fully open source btw: Thank you SensAI Hackademy for sending me the robot!

SOMEONE JUST BUILT AN OPERATING SYSTEM FOR ROBOTS not a framework... not a library an actual OS dimos is an open-source platform that lets you build, run, and deploy software on any robot humanoids, quadrupeds, drones, wheeled bots you write python modules .... they talk to each other via typed streams...just like microservices, but for physical hardware the wild part..? you can give your AI editor (cursor, claude code) MCP access to send real physical commands "move forward 1 meter" → robot moves. it ships with a full navigation stack SLAM, collision avoidance, route planning. plus a dashboard to debug, visualize, and control your robot in real-time via waypoints, VR, or keyboard. supported hardware already includes unitree G1 humanoids, dji drones, and multiple robot arms. programming physical robots is finally as simple as programming software

I love prototyping. It’s the most important thing that sets great software above the merely good. And to that end, here’s a project a couple of us have been hacking away on, and the team is ready to add people in mass to the TestFlight. It’s an open source version of a visual programming environment, similar to Origami or Quartz Composer. In addition to being able to build anything those two can, it also supports AR, CoreML, and native 3D support. As well as being built in SwiftUI, so it runs on basically any Apple device and is easy to hack on and improve.

Day 2 of recreating Meta’s new AR glasses on my Quest. After adding microgestures to navigate the UI. Today, I built a simple camera that can zoom using Pinch and Twist. It felt really cool to scroll through all the pictures I took in the carousel. But the best addition is definitely the contextual AI that lets me send whatever I’m looking at to an AI and instantly get more information. This project is getting more and more challenging but I'm having a lot of fun and it's cool to see the potential of these new AR glasses. And yes, the complete Unity project will be available very soon on my Patreon if you’d like to see how I did it 👉

I’m probably one of the strongest people you could ever run up on, and I look how I look, but when it came down to setting up on that block and then pitching and getting it off down there, yeah, I was the best at that. I think I got nine weeks to go in this course and part of it is I’m writing a thesis. So it’s a lot of ground work, and busy work… it’s going well, I’m very much looking forward to it being done and having a little bit of brain space free. It’s been really rewarding as well to know that you can do multiple hard things at once. I’m really proud of myself”

Cool thing I noticed right now whilst driving in China: I use Amap for navigation (the Chinese equivalent of Google Maps or Waze), which itself uses Beidou as a satellite navigation system. And the thing is so precise it shows you on which lane you are on the highway!

The coolest part of Microduck might not be the robot. It's how it learns to move. This repo shows the full reinforcement learning pipeline behind Microduck. The robot learns in simulation using MuJoCo, PPO and GPU-based training, then the trained policy is exported to ONNX and deployed on the real robot. But the real challenge is sim-to-real. The simulation models things like actuator behavior, battery voltage, command delays, friction and even gear backlash. That helps make the learned policy work when it moves from simulation to the physical robot. The repo includes policies for walking, fall recovery, sitting, standing, kicking, ground picking and even roller skating. Train in simulation. Test the behavior. Export the policy. Run it on a real robot.
