🏒 Start Practice with 12 Player Game! 🚨 The Buffalo Sabres started Day 2 of their Dev Camp with a fun & competitive 12 person small area game. A great way to get the whole team engaged early in practice. ➡️ The game was 3 v 3 in the middle and each team had 3 bumper players in their offensive zone, essentially making it a 6 v 3 when having possession. Bumper players could pass, shoot, and defend but could not enter the playing area. ♻️ After a rep, the bumper players rotated to the middle to play 3 v 3, and the players that were playing the 3 v 3 game in the middle rotated out. 🙌 Thank you to the Buffalo Sabres for having dev camp open to the public to let coaches, players, and fans learn.

My #SundayShare is a breaking lines practice. Teams locked in zones look for opening for penetrative pass to a teammate for a point (waist high limit on passes). If intercepted, the other team tries the same. Coaching points: · Positioning: to receive both on half turn (in own area) and square to receive penetrative pass. · Scanning: where are the gaps? · Receiving: controlling with good first touch. · Movement: to receive and offset opponents. · Technique: firm push pass with follow through. · Deception: feint pass. Progressions: (1) players on two touches; (2) first time penetrative pass = 2; (3) after two passes, one opponent can enter the quarter for a 1 v 3. If they win the ball they pass back to their teammates and re-join their group. Formed first practice in whole – part - whole session with the U11 as part of Block 3 of the training syllabus. INVEST IN MANAGERS Student managers at high majors are so valuable to the team, not only from a work standpoint but also with the energy they bring. Often times they are the ones rebounding for players and helping them get their extra work in. I feel like the more programs can invest in their managers to grow on the development side… it will help their players maximize their extra work and also build better managers.

Our build-up starting from GK is terrible, needs to be fixed —— I already did a thread on that on how to fix it + the thread on FDJ as a libero has a point on how to fix the build-up. We’re too direct, we play one of the CB’s and they try to break 2 lines in finding the CF (Lewa), it’s a high-risk, high-reward move that rarely functions. We need to move their press and make the players more ball-oriented after the first pass from Peña —— try to pin their players in a triangle cage and from there try to carry it/change the play because their 2nd line will be non-existent from the press waves.

Game Speed Layups With The Kentucky Drill Layups can make or break a game. The problem is that in practice sometimes players don’t go full speed when doing their layups. This drill from The Buzz Half Court Trapping Defense from coach Kevin Furtado fixes that. The goal is 27 layups in one minute. 🚨The biggest problem with Pakistani selectors & management is mixing up the formats of the players • These people will drop Players from T20Is based on their ODI performance & drop players from ODIs based on their T20I performance • A great example of this is Saim Ayub, Although he is not in form in T20 but he can be a great asset for Pakistan in ODI cricket. He can play in the team not only as a batter but also as an all-rounder • For God sake Stop mixing formats, Learn something from other Cricket Boards

KIDS: When players on a team care about each other, winning cultures thrive. A lot of that culture is built off the ice with relationships, but it's also really built on the ice with buy in, sticking up for each other, and unselfish play. This unselfish play here from Artemi Panarin shows why he is one of the most popular teammates in the league. It's a small thing, but worth the weight of gold in the locker room. In a league where goals are at a premium, and goals equal dollars, Panarin has a clear open net for the goal but chooses to pass it to Kreider. And yes, one can argue that he should've shot it in a one-goal game. But I still love it. When top players are unselfish, that goes such a long way for setting the tone for the team's culture. The Rangers are only one point back from the top of the league, and as small as a play as this is, it's probably a big reason why. I'm also a believer in the Hockey Gods. Because what happens on the following shift...Panarin gets the puck and scores another empty netter. Awesome. Coaches, this is a great clip to show your team and especially your top players. Great job by Artemi Panarin!!
