How do we make invisible progress visible? "If you look at technologies that are really good at building habits, they’re great at visualization. You’re playing a video game; you have a score in the top corner of the screen. It’s increasing all the time as you go through the level. Every time you pick up a weapon or a ruby or a gem or whatever, there’s a little jingle or a chime; there’s some kind of power-up. Even the pitter-patter of footsteps as you run through the level is a signal that you’re progressing. So you have all these visual and audio signals of progress; the feedback is immediate. And if you compare that experience of just playing this level for 15 minutes to what it’s like to sit down and try to write a blog post or record a podcast interview or do anything in the normal world, it’s very different. The feedback comes much slower in real life. My parents like to swim. And one of the challenges of swimming is that your body looks exactly the same when you get out of the water as it did when you jumped in. If they’re doing it for the visual results, it takes two years for your body to change in the mirror. And so they have a little habit tracker where they just put an X down for each day they do their workout, and then at the end of the month, they count up how many workouts they did and compare that number to the month before. Putting that X down at the end of the workout is such a small little thing, but it’s one little visual signal that we showed up and we did the right thing today, that I did what I was supposed to do. It’s a way of visualizing your progress. Finding ways to visualize your progress as you go through your habits is important because a hallmark of almost any compounding process is that the greatest returns are delayed." 🦊 after the tour announcement came out yesterday, i took a look at moa’s reactions and there were a lot of moas who were disappointed and upset 🦊 you might think that we’re going for the same vibe, the same production and the same setlist but we received the setlist in a meeting recently and it’s different. it’s different and…there’s a variety of things prepared. 🦊 so you don’t have to think that it’s the exact same, for real 🦊 as people that are performing, me and the members honestly also want to do it differently. even as the performers, we want to do the performances in a new way and show you different sides of ourselves. 🦊 when we first heard of it, we were like “won’t it be the same?” but it’s very different 🦊 it’s very different and you don’t need to worry

Thankfully, we’re now in a kind of trans glasnost, we’re starting to come out of the silence, and that’s because of the work of the organisations that are here today. It’s because of the efforts of those who decided to stand up and speak the truth. We’re in a very different place than we were when we first started these meetings. We began them because we knew that the path being taken was causing great harm. It was tracking people into a medicalised false promise that has devastated lives for many years. For a long time, it was a lunatic fringe, I believe. This issue really came into focus, I would argue, because parents suddenly saw an awful lot of children identifying as trans. They began asking, “What is this? What are the long term implications? What are the consequences of medical transition? I’m sure it’s fine, but could I just see the evidence?” And parent after parent after parent realised, “Oh my God, the evidence is disgraceful, it’s shoddy, it’s circular reasoning, it’s poor academia.” And then, like all of us, you start pulling the thread, and we end up in this room.

I brought up my transgressions, and I was like, ‘Dude, the ads are crazy. It’s almost unwatchable.’ They said they know... they’re working on the placement of them. the members knocked on doyoung’s room as soon as it hit 12AM yesterday! they also gave him presents & prepared a cake for him🎂 🐰 -we also talked about this & that but what’s fascinating is that, 1 year ago today, we were at the same hotel, also at the same time when members wished me. this year too, the members wished me at the same hotel & at the same time. so I thought that, “ah, it’s really fascinating~”. it’s really nice that I get to be together with the members at the same period, same hotel, & at the same time. for me, this kind of moment is really precious. I think that it will really leave a lot of memories as time passes later.

At my rally in Katwe, Mayuge, I announced a new plan to support large farmers. We shall start a fund to buy fertilizers and we shall also build fish ponds for the communities that cannot afford them. This is to boost production and wealth creation at the household level. I thanked God for bringing me, Maama Janet and all of you here in happiness and peace. Fifty-two years ago, I was here but not peacefully, we were in the forests of Kityerera, and we lost many comrades. That is the history and strength of the NRM. Today, we honoured them with a moment of silence.
