In this version, we added a real-time rendering mode, so say goodbye to those laggy displays in the viewport! Here is an example: I imported a file that contains one million gaussians, super smooth.

✨ From Mesh to 3D Gaussians - Shaded in Deferred Style ✨ By Stefano Scolari (with link to repo in the comment) When converting a mesh to 3DGS model, the Gaussians are embedded with PBR properties and normal info during conversion. This prepares them for shading, similar to traditional geometry. In this scenario, Stefano used a deferred approach for shading to demonstrate how seamlessly it translates from triangle-based pipelines. 🔥 Fun fact: The mesh-to-splat conversion only needs to occur once, but it's so fast you could actually run it every frame. Here’s the full pipeline: - Mesh-to-splat conversion pass - Depth pre-pass - Sort - Gaussian pre-pass (projective computations, etc.) - GBuffer rendering pass - Shadow pass - Deferred lighting pass This is the same classic deferred pipeline, but with Gaussians instead of triangles. Real-time relighting of converted assets? Totally possible.

Gaussian Splats are really gaining traction recently. Which means creatives need more tools! Manually editing tools are great - but we want tools that can be used by everyone! Not just 3D or technical artists. a.k.a = automation, sliders and single button presses. Our new 3DGS editing features are done😃 but it wouldn't right to release them without some proper documentation. So we'll be taking care of that, along with a release on Monday

Little something I've been working, I have been able to replicate how WWE 2K do their mesh warping in CAS mode. I can now import any CAS item to Blender, and warp it to a character exactly like 2K and apply the body mesh masking. #WWE2K26

More games need to take inspiration from Quake's impact effects. It's so simple, a mesh rotated to face the normal of the impacted surface. Can always add particles and all afterwards on top of it, but this way you get a sharp visual.

Single video → a reframeable 4D Gaussian Splatting scene. Not a sequence of separately built 3D frames played back like a video. This is one continuous space-time scene, reconstructed from a single clip shot on an iPhone 16. We combine feed-forward Gaussian generation, 3D tracking, and 4D Gaussian Splatting, aiming to deliver it as a compact 4D video file that runs on your phone. Still early R&D. The goal: make 4DGS something anyone can create and experience, not just researchers with a camera rig.

To build this, I created a system that captures 72 positions from Gaussian Splatting to generate the training dataset fully automatically in a webgl viewer. ▶️ Test: 📥 Weights: Should I open source my WebGL viewer so you can train your own from gaussian splatting ?

i always had struggles "dissolving" mesh particles, especially since in this game I try to have no alpha transparency progressive dithering doesn't always look good but i have a new trick and it's great! i just painted a super quick dissolve map in blender 😍 was so easy!
