48 years ago today, “Le Freak” by CHIC was released as a single.

The "Freak Out" refrain was originally "F*ck off," written after being denied entrance to Studio 54.

Nile Rodgers's CHIC... then from "Upside Down" for Diana Ross to "Let's Dance" for David Bowie not to mention Madonna's "Like a Virgin" and "Material Girl," or the songs by Sister Sledge, and so on, all Nile Rodgers.. My favorite Rodgers track (which Modjo sampled for their hit "Lady") is Chic's "Soup for One" the guitars, the bass, the percussion..brilliant.
