55 years ago this morning, something magical happened. A new program called Sesame Street aired for the very first time on television.

Didn't expect to wake up and ball my eyes out, yet here we are. 😭😭😭 /I wish the people who created it to instill core values of love, (self) acceptance, & observational reasoning were able to shape and help influence more people in this world -but am grateful for Jim's legacy

So many good times watching. I'd tune in occasionally even into my preteens and teens. It was comfort food for the body and soul without the calories.

I was 1.5 years old, and cannot possibly imagine my life now if the Street hadn't been there.

I wonder if the very old intro got restored.

And I was there! I recall my mom waking me up and plunking me in front of the tv, which wasn’t usual. I adored what I saw. I was 5 years old. ❤️

I remember our class walking down the hall and hearing a TV in the special needs class. We all stopped and asked if we could watch TV too! Our teacher said no, it's just for these kids. The special needs teacher invited us in to watch Sesame Street! 🧛‍♂️🧌🍎🅰️🔡
