70% of wheelchair users said pavement parking was a regular problem, forcing them into the road. London can ban pavement parking; why can't the rest of the country? There seems to be widespread support for it; for example, 78% of Daily Express readers back a ban. Let's do it.

It's not only wheelchair users that it inconveniences, add mothers with pushchairs, the infirm, anyone carrying anything and those who prefer not to be forced into oncoming traffic. It's just bloody rude

I had nowhere else to put my chest freezer, so I put it on the pavement, but I was told I’d be prosecuted! Why are cars ok, just because people have nowhere else to put them?!!!

Blimey, if Express readers back it... Having had a couple of spells on crutches I hate it. Even dog walking it's a pain.

Correction: London hasn't banned pavement parking. As local highway authorities London Boroughs have powers to do so - or not do so. Visited Haringey recently? Pavement parking as rife through exemptions as if there was no so-called ban. Doesn't mean powers shouldn't be extended.

Perhaps come and look at Paddington station where parking by licensed taxis sometimes includes them parking on the pavement (as well as the usual double yellows and bike lane!)!

I seem to remember an article on results of a @guidedogs survey primarily about affects of cycling on the blind. Single biggest transport issue according to respondants. Pavement parking by cars.
