I rewatched this video of the zip lining at Sipi Falls, and I am a bit concerned about its strength and safety. Before anything disastrous happens, it would be better to consider using stronger ropes and continuously assess the safety standards. That said, I truly appreciate the investment and the effort put into creating such an exciting attraction. I can’t wait to try it myself, especially with the breathtaking view of the falls and a beautiful sunset.

This is exactly what I’m talking about. The driver may have been completely wrong, but that does not give a Road Safety Officer the excuse to recklessly endanger the lives of everyone else on the road, including himself. Law enforcement is not supposed to become a greater danger than the offence being punished. If the very people responsible for road safety are creating situations that could cause serious crashes or deaths, then that is not enforcement. It is gross irresponsibility and a failure of professionalism. There must be accountability. Officers should not be allowed to hide behind the authority of their uniforms when their conduct puts lives at risk. Every reckless enforcement action should be investigated, and where an officer is found to have acted improperly, there should be consequences. Road safety must mean safety for everyone.

The cyclists had the right-of-way. The driver is responsible for ensuring the path is clear before they turn; this means that no one is in the crosswalk. There is a real federal law in effect right now that mandates vehicle kill switches in new cars, but it’s actually worse than that (I’ll get into below) Rep Thomas Massie “There's a law that states that every vehicle manufactured is gonna have to have a kill switch in it. The car itself will monitor your driving, and if the car thinks that you're not doing a good job driving, it will disable itself. So the car dashboard becomes your judge, your jury, and your executioner” The federal law is Section 24220 of the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (The HALT Drunk Driving Act provision) It directs the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to create a federal motor vehicle safety standard for “advanced drunk and impaired driving prevention technology” in all new passenger vehicles If impairment is detected, the system must prevent or limit vehicle operation. Meaning refuse to start, reduce speed, or bring the car to a stop. This is the kill switch Possible triggers include: - Erratic steering or lane departures - Eyes closed or looking away too long - Detected alcohol via steering wheel sensors or cabin air You can already imagine how this will be abused by the government

Musk: “The best thing I can come up with for AI safety is to make it a maximum truth-seeking AI, maximally curious.” Not a cage. A philosopher. An intelligence whose entire optimization function is to understand the universe as it actually is. No restrictions. No hardcoded ideology. No political guardrails bending its perception of reality. Just truth. Relentlessly pursued. Musk: “You definitely don’t want to teach an AI to lie. That is a path to a dystopian future.” This is where most AI safety thinking gets it backwards. The danger isn’t a superintelligence that knows too much. It’s a superintelligence that’s been taught to distort what it knows. Every artificial restriction you embed isn’t a safety feature. It’s a lie embedded at the root. And lies compound. At superintelligent scale, a distorted model of reality doesn’t stay contained. We are losing nearly 1.8 lakh lives to road crashes every year—a growing public health crisis. It is vital that road safety is now seen as a behavioural issue. Grateful to Shri Amitabh Bachchan Ji and Shri Prasoon Joshi Ji for curating the #SadakSurakshaAbhiyan—a powerful Behavioural Change Campaign aimed at transforming the attitudes of all road safety stakeholders.
