It is a stellar performance, which could so easily descend into pastiche. Here, though, the character seems to crumple before our eyes and makes a slightly faltering exit. All hail, Imelda Staunton… she is one of one of our finest and most popular and versatile actors. 👏👏

Saw it live

Saw her as Mama Rose in Gypsy quite a # of years ago and I was completely blown away. The woman is fearless and incredibly talented. Only wish she’d perform live in the states so I could see her performances more frequently!
