Playing with Figma Motion and shaders today! Tried recreating one of my old blob animation explorations, and it’s so much fun to experiment with different settings and combine them together. In this example, I combined my custom blob mask shader with a lens distortion shader to create this effect. Really love how easy it is to iterate and discover new looks.

a quick text & space motion experiment with Google AI Studio using a p5js snippet i found on open processing. and of course as always, had to go with fun colors and type. also gave the vortex motion controls where you can do things like swap fonts, adjust the roll speed, and feed it your own words.

Frank Slootman’s advice for founders learning to be CEO Founders frequently ask Frank (former CEO of Snowflake), “Do you think I can be a CEO?” Frank responds with a question: “Do you want to be?” He explains: “If you want to be, you need to become a student of the role because it’s different.” One of the biggest differences in transitioning to being an “operating CEO” is that a founder’s “reality distortion field” becomes a liability. Steve Jobs wouldn’t have done anything if he didn’t have reality distortion — you have to see the world differently, and you wouldn’t start a company if you didn’t have reality distortion. I'm working on a vst and it starts to sound great! It shapes drums so they sound more dynamic & hit harder. When I'm happy with the design of the transient shaper, I will add more effects on top of it (distortion, exciter...) I need to work on a better UI though 😅

Another weekend project: GridStore Jean Cavallera and I are building simple but useful dApps that make LUKSO more accessible and easier to use. This is GridStore, an “app store” for Grid templates. By adding the value of a grid template you like under the ⁩LSP28TheGriddata key, you can set immediately that template on your Grid and start customizing it, saving you time. ✨ Added a CRT curvature distortion to pieter™ now It takes the Em-DOSBox and processes it in WebGL and builds a new with the distortion of a classic CRT screen which had this convex curvature (like an old TV) even though the screen itself was square I had this working on DOSBox on MacOS and on Linux with CRT-Pi shader, but on web it doesn't support shaders so I had to build my own with Claude Code in JS, very easy I remember trying this a year ago and Claude Code fucked it up so bad that I gave up, so I think the models have improved a lot Tomorrow I'll try add some scanlines, it really helps make the simulation more passable (and nostalgic!) 😊👌
