📣 Solidus AITECH Data Center – Weekly Progress Update! This week, our engineering team completed the high-amperage electrical network designed to power our server cabinets safely and efficiently. Next week, a voltage expert will conduct final certifications to ensure everything meets industry standards. We also received an additional batch of blade servers, marking a major step towards deployment. The final image features one of our Legrand 60kVA UPS systems, a key component of our redundant power infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted operations. Legrand, a global leader in data center solutions, is supplying the majority of our power systems. ✨ More progress is on the way, stay tuned!

To kick off the summer, the Oasis team traveled from around the globe for our company retreat in Bled, Slovenia. The retreat served two purposes: 1⃣ To come together and envision the future of Oasis 🧠 2⃣ To reignite our team with the energy of community and a shared purpose 🤝 The retreat was more than just a meet-up; it was the first time many of us had the opportunity to connect in person. As a company that has always thrived in a remote working environment (championing autonomy, wellness, and global collaboration), we understand the value of face-to-face interaction and collective bonding. For three workshop-packed days, we navigated through intimate discussions, brainstorming sessions, and team-building activities focused on the future of Oasis. The cross-pollination of ideas from our diverse minds across Engineering, Business Development, Marketing, Community, Operations, and HR brought forth new solutions, initiatives, and ideas for Oasis, reinforcing our belief that community is the backbone of every great blockchain network. They're using land previously planned for homes” - 55 homes were purchased for nearly $1 million per house and knocked down to build data centers outside of Chicago - Amazon paid $700 million for land so they could build a data center instead of homes - Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, and Alphabet are spending more money on data centers than the US spent on railroads in the the interstate highway system in the 1950s, and more than the US spent on the Apollo space program States are choosing data centers over homes. There are real examples of this Northern Virginia is the center of this phenomenon known as Data Center Alley, even though the region has a shortage of more than 75,000 homes I found real devastating examples of this happening: Prince William County / Bristow, Virginia (Northern Virginia “Data Center Alley”) The homebuilder Steve Alloy’s company was preparing to develop 516 new homes when surrounding land was rapidly bought up by Microsoft, Google, and other data center operators instead. Nearby, the Village Place housing project entitled for 250 additional units had its land sold to a data center developer for $31 million Stanley Martin Homes Land Flip to Amazon, Prince William County, Virginia Residential homebuilder Stanley Martin Homes assembled 270 acres for about $51 million. THE AYEDE TRANSMISSION SUBSTATION UPGRADE Project Timeline: The Ayede Transmission Substation upgrade in Oyo State is set to be completed in line with Phase One of the Presidential Power Initiative, which aims to add 4,000 megawatts of transmission capacity across Nigeria within three years. The project is one of five priority projects under PPI Phase 1, alongside Offa, Onitsha, New Abeokuta, and Sokoto. Measurable Milestones: The project includes the replacement of a burnt 150MVA, 330/132kV transformer and the construction of a new 132kV line bay. Once completed, this intervention will increase the station's transmission wheeling capacity by 120 megawatts. Expected Impact: The upgraded substation will improve grid reliability in Oyo State and surrounding regions. Together with the other four priority projects, it will contribute to a stronger, more resilient national grid.

We need the data centers. We have to win the AI race. My guest for episode 5 of Counterweight is Manhattan Institute's Judge Glock. This spring he wrote about Loudoun County, VA in City Journal. Loudoun, one of the richest counties in America, with a median household income of around $170,000, has become the unlikely center of a new data center-based industrial revolution. And it's not just Loudoun. Data center construction is up about twenty times nationwide in three years, leading to an enormous political backlash. New York State imposed a moratorium on data center construction, and even Republican Greg Abbott of Texas has put a temporary pause in place. Meanwhile, speaking for myself, I’ve seen a ton of fear-mongering about them, with very little in the way of clear explanation of what the costs and benefits are and what they mean for the localities that might bring them in. I've brought Judge on to walk through in granular detail how data centers work, how Loudoun County became ground zero for the data center boom, and the recent pushback against data centers. We also talk about the unfortunate habit that AI CEOs have of seeming like the gloomiest people in the world in relation to the products they are trying to sell.
