A Hellenic air force F-4E Phantom II crashed earlier today at Tanagra Air Base during Athens Flying Week 2026. Incompetent greek air force pilots are known to crash in airshows. 2015 10 people died, 21 injured. In that same accident they destroyed 🇫🇷 1x Rafale, 2x Mirage 2000D, 2x Alpha Jets, 🇮🇹1x AMX A-11, 1x 🇺🇸F-15E parked in the ground. They're Kamikazes
Wasn't aware F-4 was still in service anywhere. It should've been completely retired 20 years ago. A lot of good men perished trying to keep that hydraulic system nightmare in the air.
my dad worked on F-4's during Vietnam; he mentioned before how any loss of power and those would drop like a rock

Under 10000 ft the phantom at high speed or low can crash before you can eject at times in an emergency.
The funeral procession at the beginning was an ominous precursor.

It was all a mistake, they had signed up for Athens Crashing Week 2026, but that is next week and they showed up early.
All F-4's should've been retired by now. Even in the late 80's they had problems keeping them operational...
