This happened at the Aldridge store near Walsall last December. The thief a repeat offender turned abusive and tried to run off with stolen goods. Egan stepped in and grabbed his arm to stop him reaching into the bag. That split-second decision cost him everything. He was dismissed on the spot for breaching Morrisons’ “deter, don’t detain” policy. Sean had worked there since he was 17. 29 years of loyalty. 29 years of graft. Gone. Now he’s barely surviving. No pay since January. Family struggling. Left with nothing. He said: “I’ve given so much to that business… I lived for that job.
