Hey, Flat Earthers - I have a challenge for you. Late tonight and into early tomorrow morning, we’re going to have a lunar eclipse. Here in the Eastern time zone: • Partial eclipse begins: 10:33 PM EDT • Maximum eclipse: 12:12 AM EDT • Partial eclipse ends: 1:51 AM EDT At maximum, about 96% of the Moon will be inside Earth’s dark shadow. Under the conventional model, this one’s pretty simple: the Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon, and Earth’s shadow sweeps across the Moon. Millions of people across North and South America and parts of Europe and Africa will be able to watch it happen. But you say the Earth is flat. So explain it. And I’ve made this ridiculously easy for you. I built a little interactive model you can play with. You have a Sun. You have a Moon. You have your flat Earth. Move them anywhere you want. Change the size of the Sun and Moon together. Move either one wherever you like. Raise them. Lower them. Move them closer or farther away. Hell, I’ll even let you tilt the flat Earth disc, rotate it, turn it sideways or flip the entire thing over. I’m giving you essentially complete freedom to arrange your flat-Earth system however you think it needs to be arranged. Your challenge is simple: Reproduce what we’re about to observe. Put the Sun, Moon and flat Earth wherever you want and show us how that arrangement produces the Earth’s shadow moving across the Moon the way millions of people will actually see it tonight. No equations required. No appeals to NASA. No CGI excuses. No arguing about photographs. Just geometry. Here’s the model. Show us what you’ve got.
