A new study analyzed daily temperatures from 992 long-running weather stations across 29 countries covering the years 1899 to 2024. Then it compared those temperatures to cumulative human CO2 emissions. They don't match. From 1899 to 1940, the planet warmed at a rate of 0.022 C per year, even... though emissions were low. Then from 1941 to 1982, temperatures cooled, despite CO2 emissions more than tripling. From 1983 to 2024, warming returned, but slower than before, at a rate of 0.017 C per year, even as emissions rose 8.6 times higher than during the earlier warming phase. As the author conclude: "These findings challenge the conventional assumption that human-induced CO2 is the primary driver of global warming." This is because the strongest warming occurred before major modern emissions kicked in, and later periods with far more CO2 show weaker warming, or even cooling. Thought I would jump back into the fray! Right now Nebraska corn 🌽 is gobbling up all CO2 it can. It is removing the carbon in order to grow ( just like all plant life does) and “ popping out” oxygen! That’s how photosynthesis works! By the way , Oxygen levels have not been affected by this so called crisis . In fact they are steady and possibly slightly above normal !!!

1 of 2 One thing to watch out for - weather stations across the USA have been moved. For instance, I grew up inside Chicagoland, where it is always cooler by the lake. But the weather station near Lake Michigan was moved in the 1980's out to O'Hare airport, nowhere near the lake.

More sun = more warming Less sun = less warming What they should probably look at is solar cycles, fluctuations, radiation e.t.c, I think that is a bigger predictor. Also variations in how far we are from the sun probably also changes the heating and cooling over the same scale.

… In science it’s mandatory to relate your novel results to past results. Otherwise it’s cheating. Then there is the attempt to deny temperature/CO2 correlation. This is stupid when dealing with a multivariate system.

That would make sense IF you exclude all external factors... They mention aerosol cooling effects as a final piece, and only from 1980 so shows marginal (relative) impact... As no data prior, it seems to be written off entirely in their calcs. I wonder what happened around there

Of course they don't match - warming precedes co2 release as it lowers water's ability to hold dissolved co2. Sunlight warms the oceans and they outgass C02 just in time for plants to start growing, you know, since it's getting warmer.
