A Photonic Molecule built from three coupled whispering-gallery resonators. A guided electromagnetic pulse enters through the bus waveguide, loads into the first ring, tunnels onto the second, then climbs knto the third through evanescent coupling. Simulated directly with Maxwell's equation using FDTD.

This is realworld magic, thanks for these.

Fantastic work. Inspiring. I recently implemented a Maxwell EM visualizer. Here you can see the E feel oscillating, and I’ve got a Navier Stokes solver driving a particle field that shows the realistic orthogonal oscillation of the M field. This visualization solves for the stapled poles did not require FDTD. I’ve since implemented FTDT solver. It’s all using Rust/wgpu. You’ve taken it to the next level though. I’m interested to know what made you think of doing this at all.

is the first to second to third loading sequence set by the coupling topology alone, or did you detune the resonances and time the input pulse to produce it?

What do the "sparks" represent?

Poynting vectors... shows flow of EM energy

That visual is a perfect showcase of the interactions of the Miller-Turner Triad. I recently wrote three papers covering it.

Beautiful work 👏 Ring resonators like these already sit at the heart of on-chip optical communications. I'm curious what coupling coefficients you used between rings. #Photonics #FDTD

Holomic motives

That is so lovely to watch

Amazing

Fantastic

Wow, I didn't real-eyes that a geared mechanism can be made from light molecules.

I associate that music with certain memes – is messing with my head seeing it in a science GIF

🚨BREAKING🚨 what’s this??

i couldn't stop laughing at the music choice. what did the photons do??? 😭😭😭

@grok what’s FDTD?
