A man from Leeds has been jailed after a high-speed chase on the A1(M) in North Yorkshire. Ashley Parr, 35, reached 140mph during the incident last summer. He hit a roundabout after leaving the motorway at junction 42 and rolled the car several times. Parr pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, drug driving and failing to stop for police. He was jailed for 16 months and banned from driving for three years and eight months.

Edmonton Police say a 23-year-old man was killed early Saturday after his car struck a light pole and caught fire on Anthony Henday Drive. Investigators believe a northbound Chevrolet Cavalier was travelling in the southbound lanes and caused the crash near the Highway 14 overpass. Witnesses pulled the man from his burning Chevrolet Cruze, but he died at the scene. The woman suffered a fractured pelvis and had to undergo an emergency Caesarean section. The baby was in intensive care for multiple weeks. The dog also needed emergency surgery.
