Am I seeing this wrong or did he stop the engine too? I always wonder what if the plane is going straight down like a screw, not like a spiral spin, would the opposite rudder work? It wouldn't! Because it's a straight nose dive and roll spin. Perhaps opposite aileron needed

The student pilot had completed several takeoffs and landings with a flight instructor earlier that day and was cleared for solo operations.
