Yes. Muscles disposes blood glucose.

That's absolutely correct! It's one reason strength training improves our metabolic health. :-)

Lifting and weight training has changed my life!

That's fantastic to hear! Consistent weight training can transform both body and mind. Keep up the great work on your fitness journey! 💪🏋️♂️🏃♀️

It's almost like having more muscle consumes and then stores extra glucose....and of course we lose muscle at 1% per year until later years when that loss accelerates by 50%.... Exercise is not optional.

Agree, Bob! Maintaining muscle mass through exercise is crucial as we age. It helps manage glucose effectively and supports bone, muscle, and metabolic health. Not to mention it helps keep our brain and heart healthy. Keep spreading the word. :-)

Fascinating to learn how important muscle mass is. And the misnomer that it means you have to buff up, which can be intimidating.

Yes, those bulked up bodybuilders are a little intimidating. No wonder some people shy away from it! It's hard to achieve that. Most are taking body building supplements or even anabolic steroids.

Be very careful if you have any spine pain. The discs have no internal blood supply after age 20. The average age of disc surgery is 42 -the same average age of patients with neck and low back pain(present in the Fibromyalgia Syndrome). FMS is 80% women.

Good point! I read somewhere that disc problems may occur even earlier, in the 30s, but most don't undergo discectomy until their 40s when they start to feel the effects of cumulative damage.
