Yes, she couldn’t just come out and say an absolute no to data centers. 🙄

It would have been so easy, and just as non committal, to just say “it depends on the details but I would potentially be open to a short term moratorium until our city can do an assessment of how we can update our policies appropriately.”

Little known fact there’s already 73 in the city plus Burbank, SM etc

There's a data center next to Union Station, One Wilshire downtown is a data center, there's a data center planned for construction opposite Whole Foods in DTLA

There are active proposals to expand existing data centers in DTLA… her office knows this

Karen Bass is so checked out as Mayor she dodednt know there’s a proposed data center at 727 Grand in Dtla. She’s useless
