[NEW] a16z a16z speedrun 🧊 request for startups: Vibe Creation Platforms We've seen Vibe Coding platforms like Lovable and Bolt emerge for application development serving non-coding consumers --> We'll soon see VIBE CREATION as an entirely new consumer experience for crafting video, visual stories, games, and more The platform will require an end-to-end workflow orchestrated by AI agents --> Today, we have the infrastructure with foundation models across modalities, but most consumers won't jump from model site to model site to then stitch their creations together The winning solution will help consumers go from idea to first draft in minutes while enabling finer creative control for those that seek it --> This is how we go from AI internet memes to compelling human stories AI Vibe Creation platforms are designed for fun and creative flow. They remove the million knobs and sliders professional creators have come to expect --> They feel more like a game than a tool a16z speedrun has already invested in a few teams exploring this space: - VIDEO: Hedra (animated characters), intangible (canva for 3D) - GAMING: Rosebud AI (game generation), Nilo Technologies (3D worldbuilding) - IMAGE: (infinite canvas), Blank (instagram for AI), - VISUAL STORIES: Komiko (anime), Sekai (tiktok for interactive stories) We believe there will be many great vibe creation platforms to be built across medium (video, music, game, etc), genre/niche (anime, 3D, sports) and platform (mobile, web, XR) if you're building in this space, DM us and apply for speedrun!

In 2026, AI world models will take the spotlight in storytelling - powering new types of interactive experiences & digital economies not seen before World models are progressing rapidly - Marble World Labs and Genie 3 Google DeepMind already generate 3D environments from text prompts, allowing users to explore them as if they were video games As creators adopt these tools, new storytelling formats will emerge. One genre I'm excited about is "generative Minecraft" - where players co-create virtual worlds together by vibe coding with world models. Game mechanics could be programmable with natural language - ex. "create a paintbrush that changes the color of anything I touch to pink" World models will also likely give rise to not just a single game, but an entire new category of generative world experiences - you could have a horror experience where you’re hiding from generated monsters, or a D&D experience where you’re roaming an infinite fantasy world with friends And with a common base model for the underlying worlds, these experiences could be inter-connected in a multiverse we could only dream about previously in science fiction A key affordance here is the role of consumers as co-creators - you can wander the multiverse as a tourist, or break out your pickaxe and become a creator anytime. This in turn would give rise to new digital economies - with creators making a living building and selling interoperable assets, serving as a guide for new players, etc The opportunity is enormous - a new category of generative worlds would not only create a new storytelling medium unlike any we’ve seen before, but also be rich training grounds for agents, robotics, and AGI If you’re excited about building new interactive experiences or the virtual economy stack with world models - we’d love to hear from you!

We're only year 3 of a decade (if not multi-decades) long transformation of work. 3 years ago we bet on building an horizontal platform for work with agents, a chance to invent a new operating system for companies, from scratch, with AI as a fundamental premise. Many people considered us crazy for going after that, praising verticalized AI products as the winning strategy. But here's the thing: the time horizon of tasks successfully handled by agents has been predictively increasing form minutes to hours and will in all likelihood reach the equivalent of days and weeks of human work equivalent in the coming quarters. This is were verticalized and/or single-player AI falls short. Single-player tools, one person, one agent, confined to your machine is the wrong architecture for what's coming. We're shifting from using AI to produce things, to managing fleets of agents that do the producing. 3 years ago I wrote[1]: "ChatGPT is the Pong of LLMs. [...] Imagine, one day we'll get the DOOM, Civ, Red Alert, and Counter Strike of LLMs. Let alone multiplayer modes." Weeks long tasks in companies are inherently collaborative and mechanically spanning multiple teams. The new bottleneck in harnessing agents within organizations is coordination: multiple humans and multiple agents need to work together, with shared context, shared tools, shared goals. Agents that can hand work off to other agents or surface decisions to the right person at the right time. Humans who can review, steer, and step in without losing the thread. Teams that can run parallel workstreams and actually stay aligned. This is Multiplayer AI, and that's what we've been building at Dust. Across Datadog, Clay, Persona, 1Password, Doctolib and 3,000+ organizations globally, we've watched teams figure out what this looks like in practice. 300,000+ agents deployed. 70% weekly active. 240%+ NRR. Today we're announcing a $40M Series B with Abstract, Sequoia, Snowflake, and Datadog to accelerate our vision. Designing the right interfaces for multiplayer AI is the next frontier. Join us to redefine work by defining multiplayer AI.

Today, Box is announcing major new AI agent capabilities to let customers tap into the full value of their unstructured data. First, we’re announcing all new updates to the Box AI Studio to make it even easier to build AI agents that tap into your enterprise content for any job function, business process, or industry specific use case. We are also expanding our set of foundational agents that customers will be able to use to work with their enterprise content, including new features like search and research on unstructured data. Next, we’re announcing Box Extract to enable customers to use AI agents seamlessly for complex data extraction from any type of document or content. This makes it easier than ever to pull out data from contracts, invoices, research data, marketing assets, medical charts, and more. Finally, we’re introducing Box Automate, a new workflow automation solution within Box that lets you deploy AI agents across enterprise content-centric workflows. With Box Automate, you can design your business process in a simple drag and drop builder and then drop in AI agents at any step in the process. This ensures agents execute tasks at the right steps in a workflow every time. Best of all, our AI agents and workflow tools are designed to work across any system our customers work within, whether it’s leveraging pre-built integrations, Box APIs, or the new Box MCP Server. Ultimately, all of these capabilities come together to transform how companies can work with their enterprise content. Software has historically only been good at automating work that deals with structured data, which is why ERP, CRM, and HR systems have been mainstays of enterprise software for so long. The data in these systems fits neatly into a database, and the workflows are very ripe for automation. But it turns out most of the work in the world deals with unstructured data. It’s ideating through research documents, working with a client on contracts, reviewing details for a new product launch, looking at a patient’s healthcare record to make a diagnosis, working through due diligence documents for an M&A deal, and so on. For the first time ever, we can begin to bring all new insights and automation to this work with AI agents. At Box, we’re incredibly excited to be on this journey to help customers transform how they work with their most important data.

Here we go again 🚀! Excited to announce that we're building A1Zap (YC W25) with Pennie Li and that we're in the Y Combinator W25 batch in San Francisco! What is A1Base? A1Base gives AI Agents a real world identity for work. We do that by rebuilding Twilio and Okta from the ground up, putting AI Agents first. This means developers can make AI-first agentic applications 10x easier with our API's. ⁉️ Why are we doing this? Because there's a huge torrent of new valuable companies possible with AI agents, but to get their AI Agents to users, they have to chain custom apps, chat interfaces, awkward Slack integrations, browser bots, and wrestle with Twilio’s legacy API (which is built for marketing). We solve this by providing developers with an easy to use API to interface your AI agent with humans/coworkers/users where they are in this case in Whatsapp, Slack, Teams, SMS and more) - with AI Agent features built in. These digital workers are poised to transform how we work and we're the critical infrastructure to help them interact naturally in human workflows. We're not just building another AI tool. We're creating the infrastructure that will enable AI agents to become a natural part of the workforce - handling everything from customer support to sales development to creative work. We're backed by Y Combinator and working with founding teams who share our vision. We believe that in the near future, AI Agents with human coworkers will enable us to pursue more creative and impactful work. Our mission is to help developers build AI Agents that people can partner with and rely on as trusted allies—always with a human-first mindset. If you're thinking about the Agentic future of your company reach out! If you're looking to build your first AI Agentic company - reach out too - we have some amazing open source templates to get you started on the journey. Excited to share more of what we're up to soon 🔜.

a16z a16z speedrun 🧊 request for startups: GUIs for Agents we’re still in the MS-DOS era of agents today - CLI, terminal sessions, file directories deleted by openclaw etc. while a small slice of silicon valley are power users, we're SO early for the rest of the world at Speedrun, we’re looking for bold founders excited to bring the power of agents to normies everywhere. there's a whole slew of products to be built here - from agent builders to marketplaces to managed infrastructure one broad idea we’re excited about are visual abstraction layers for agents. if you don't know exactly what you want, a command line / chat interface is paralyzing - you need to see options 1 example - think of a GUI or visual command center inspired by strategy games (ex. Factorio) where agents and workflows are represented graphically. skills, tools, MCP connections, background processes, etc could all be configured and shown visually in a workspace on UX, strategy games have long perfected agent management. zoom to get a birds-eye view of your agents, batch and queue orders via shortcuts, assign agents in multiplayer etc. a well-designed agent command center would make multi-agent orchestration for normies feel easy & intuitive most folks today still haven't moved beyond ChatGPT. the potential is enormous - just as Windows unlocked mass-market use of personal computers, the right visual abstraction layer could unlock agentic work for everyone - from individuals to enterprise teams if you share our vision, we'd love to chat!

Excited to introduce a new project I've been working on called Payman! Payman is an AI Agent tool that gives Agents the ability to pay people for tasks they cannot do themselves. While many people imagine a future where humans pay AI agents for services they want completed, I believe that as AI agents become more advanced, they will be paying humans for tasks they can’t do. There will always be important roles for humans, and as we move towards an agent-driven world, Payman’s goal is to support a symbiotic relationship between AI agents and humans. Payman addresses three major challenges to make this collaboration possible: Access to Funds: AI agents can't open bank accounts due to current regulations. It might be a long time before this changes, if ever. Payman simplifies this by allowing AI agents with access to their own funds to spend as they want, without a bank account. Quality Task Completion: It’s hard for AI agents to find reliable, skilled human workers. While platforms like Fiverr and Upwork exist, they don’t meet the fast-paced and quality-specific needs of AI workflows. Payman is developing the largest vetted database of skilled workers that AI agents can tap into for task completions. Verification of Work: Ensuring that tasks are completed correctly is crucial. Payman is creating a suite of verification agents that will check that work meets task requirements, helping AI agents achieve their goals and ensuring humans are paid fairly. There are tons of use cases that Payman opens up for Agents! Design: Humans add creative input to help Agent's design better products. Code: Humans perform code reviews to ensure it meets specifications. Law: Humans provide insights to gauge public sentiment about legal cases so Agents can make better strategies. Gaming: Agents pay humans to complete real-world tasks in games. Medical: Medical professionals help to improve diagnostic accuracy for Agents. Sales: Humans execute sales strategies developed by AI agents. Marketing: Humans are hired to promote products based on the Agent's strategy. Right now this is still in early beta and I am looking for any Agent builders that are interested in adding superpowers to what their Agent can do! DM me if you’d like access or sign-up to the waitlist at If you’re interested in the project and want to help contribute, please send me over a DM! I’m looking for people passionate about the intersection of Humans and Agent’s working together.

The Niceaunties AI Video Grant At Fellowship, we believe in creating an environment for experimentation and the development of ideas. That is why, when niceaunties proposed a grant program for mentorship and the creation of AI videos, we immediately said yes. The program will help support six artists, to create a Solo Show for the Fellowship Daily program. The commitment is to produce 8 new videos based on a theme proposed by Niceaunties. This will be an open call for all the Daily Artists and the AI video community at large. Everyone is welcome to reply/submit a video for consideration. Each grantee will receive a total of 2ETH provided by Niceaunties and Fellowship, as well as mentorship from Niceaunties and alejandro cartagena. We encourage artists applying to consider this grant as a space of critical feedback and of experimentation. Artists are encouraged to be open to new ideas and to explore alternative ways of how to think of their practice. These funds and curatorial support are there to open up time for the creators to engage and create a space ideal for critical feedback. We believe that developing an artistic voice comes from experimentation and confrontation of ideas. All 8 pieces produced during the month will be auctioned on the daily . xyz site as a one-day Solo Show. All proceeds of the sales will go to the artists. We are looking for creators who want to expand their ideas and take their art to the next level. We thank Niceaunties for their passion and commitment to AI art and the art community. This is the open call post. Please follow, retweet and reply/submit a video for consideration. You have until Friday the 5th of July to submit the work. 📅 The theme for this month is CONNECTIONS. Good luck everyone!
