About a decade back, in 2017, Jallikattu protests happened across TN with a major gathering in Chennai Marina beach. Many of the Gen Z and first time voters now would have been too young then. It was a protest that was organically able to gather lakhs of people against...

Excellent segment on the NEET exam protests and why the student led Fair NEET protest in Delhi won but the DMK led Ban NEET protest in TN failed, by Savukku Shankar 👏👏👏 In TN, the protest was never against NEET. It was to destabilise TVK. NEET is here to stay. Misguiding students on the ban will not fetch any results. While TVK did not lead or actively participate in this pointless protest, they should have taken a firmer stand on this. #TVK #Vijay #CMVijay #DMKfailsTN #NEET

As long as it is the students who are protesting and their protest is against the irregularities and mishaps in the NEET exams, the protests are totally valid. But the moment fringe elements creep in with ulterior motives, neither the state nor the centre should remain silent, It needs to be curbed. The recent developments have only shown that apart from the campaigns against NEET, its is slowly turning into side campaigns against Article 370 abrogation, slogans chanting de*th of the Prime Minister and staging a Nepal types rebellion. It is obvious that someone else trying to hide behind the student campaigns and achieve their objective. People like Arivu who kept quite during the DMK Govt are now suddenly jumping in to protest at a place that is not allowed for protests. The TVK Govt was polite enough to even have a discussion with him when he actually went against the law. Hope the actual students group, centre and the state Govts see through this. #CJP #NEET #TVK #Vijay #CMVijay #BJP #Protest

Former Israeli PM Naftali Bennett on Iran: What happens every time there's a protest? They turn off the internet, and then there's no communications. So what I had started was a process of acquiring and smuggling into Iran tens of thousands of Starlink receptors that would allow continuity of the internet and social networks when they turn it off and would allow the protests to coordinate and ultimately topple. Unfortunately, the current incompetent Israeli government stopped doing that, like they stopped pretty much every good program that we started. And when the protest happened, that infrastructure was not there.

The protests happening in Tamilnadu on behalf of CJP and claimed to be against NEET is going directionless and haywire. Mocking chants against TVK, Vijay and Jananayagan release are being made for no reason, slogans are being read out in Hindi when the participants are Tamil. As usual parties like DMK and ADMK are celebrating this without knowing what it is. The actual protests are happening in Delhi as called out by the organizers and they are also worried about many other fringe elements mixing up with actual students with hidden agendas. People will support the protests anywhere as long as it is students led and its against the irregularities of NEET. Any hidden political agendas are not going to be welcome anywhere. #TVK #Vijay #CJP #NEET #CMVijay #BJP

🇮🇷 West would have beat down the protests, says Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi: “I would like to make clear that these protests went through a number of phases: First it was calm and peaceful. Then it started to reignite in a different fashion as new individuals infiltrated these protests and they turned violent. As we witnessed in many countries, including those in the West and the United States, when protests turn violent, they are met with the security forces.”

This is an excellent recreation of events of Gen Z protests on September 8, how the protests was initially planned, what happened in between, lack of Police preparation, then Police brutality that day which killed dozens of youths. This massacre needs to be thoroughly investigated and everyone found to be involved should be punished. It also shows how easy it is to have a peaceful protest turn violent and unruly when there is no central leadership and the mass is bigger.

Baloch masses from across Balochistan, under the banner of “Breaking Silence: Standing Against Enforced Disappearances,” are resisting state-sponsored crimes against them. In this effort, five peaceful protests have been organized in different regions of Balochistan. As part of this ongoing campaign, a peaceful protest was planned in Panjgur, where the administration and law enforcement agencies attempted to prevent people from participating. State authorities abducted a participant of protest and continue to monitor others involved in the protests. The lives of protesters are in grave danger, as they face the threat of enforced disappearances. After the protest in Panjgur, several protestors were followed and one the protestor Haseeb Baloch, a 22 years old graduate student from ARID university and a resident of Panjgur was enforcedly disappeared by Law enforcement Agencies. Previous protests were held in Karachi, Hub, Turbat, and Khuzdar, where the families of forcibly disappeared individuals registered their cases with the BYC. The BYC’s campaign against enforced disappearances, which is used as a systematic tool to escalate the Baloch genocide, continues. We appeal to the Baloch people to join these protests and break the silence. #EndEnforcedDisappearances #StopBalochGenocide #ReleaseHaseebBaloch

I strongly condemn the TN Government led by Vijay for arresting rap singer and my dear brother ‘Therukkural’ Arivu for speaking out against NEET. His voice reflects the sentiments and demands of not just Tamil Nadu, but millions of people across India. At a time when the CJP-led rallies and protests against #NEET are gaining momentum across the country, the TVK government has chosen to arrest Arivu. This sends a troubling message to the youth of Tamil Nadu who are considering taking to the streets in solidarity with the protesting youth in Delhi to oppose NEET. NEET is not just riddled with discrepancies; it has become a scam. The voices raised against NEET deserve to be heard, not silenced. #BanNEET

Prof PLO Lumumba eloquently explain continent wide Genz protests and is sympathetic to the plight of young Africans. "Demonstrations and protest is the language of the unheard. When they begin to think they're demigods, they must remember there was a French Revolution, Turkish revolt, 1960's Student Protests in Europe and that the Colonialists were defeated."

NEW: DHS Sec. Markwayne Mullin responds to "radical left" ICE protests in New Jersey: "It shows the radical left Democrats' priorities when they decide to go out and protest a detention center where we're housing rapists, child predators, murderers, drug dealers, and they choose Memorial Day of all the time to go protest something." "Then you have one of the senators complain because he got splattered with a with a, you know, pepper ball. I'm sorry. You probably shouldn't have been there."

The moment I entered, I started seeing posters mocking the Prime Minister. Not posters demanding justice for the NEET paper leak. Not posters about the CBSE issues. Not posters highlighting the larger problems students are facing in education. It was almost entirely about PM Modi. That’s what made it feel so politically targeted. A protest usually has a clear demand - a “maang” that those in power are being asked to fulfill. But here, I saw opposition leaders being welcomed with applause and affection, while many Gen Z attendees who had simply come to observe were being exposed to a strongly political narrative. There’s nothing wrong with holding a protest against the Prime Minister if that’s your objective. Be transparent about it. But don’t organize it in the name of NEET, display photographs of students who lost their lives by suicid£, and then turn the stage into something that appears focused on politics rather than the students’ demands. If the issue is political, call it political. If the issue is NEET, keep the focus on NEET. Mixing the two, especially while invoking the memory of students who died, felt deeply shameful to me.

The Jharkhand protest was a peaceful protest by real students, with no criminal antecedents and no hidden political agenda. The protest saw no vulgarity, abuses, etc. Mainstream media and YouTubers ignored the protest. Today, when the police used water cannons and lathi-charged the students, those developments also didn’t get any coverage. Journalists who were practically orgasming during the Jantar Mantar protests didn’t even feel the need to post a single line about this protest.

Not many discussed about this obvious hate of DMK on TVK that they ignored not to show their losing faces at the Oath-Taking ceremony. In fact both Stalin and Udhayanidhi only tagged Actor Vijay’s Twitter handle though they know TVK leader Vijay has got a separate handle. Such is the level of insecurity and the people could see that. The fear of what happened to Congress and Communists in WB and what happened to Congress in TN has now caught on to both DMK and ADMK since whatever they tried to stop TVK failed. #tvk #TVKVijay‌ #CMVijay #dmkfailsTN

VIDEO | Delhi: Supreme Court quashes FIRs not involving bodily harm and destruction of property against NEET protesters. Advocate Vrinda Grover says, "Today, the Hon'ble Supreme Court has passed a very significant order. We know that there were protests not only in Delhi at Jantar Mantar but across the country in many states by students and young people seeking reform in the education system and the resignation of the Education Minister. Particularly after July 20, when there was the 'Chalo Sansad' March, there were many criminal cases and FIRs lodged by police across states, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, UP, Madhya Pradesh, of course Delhi, Maharashtra. All the state governments, in a meeting that took place on July 25, when the protest was finally called off, there was an assurance given by the Union government to the representatives of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) that there would be no criminal cases against the protesters and that compensation would be paid. Applications have been filed by many states with lists of FIRs against the protesters... It (SC) has quashed today all FIRs across the country relating to the protests from July 20 to 25 with regard to the students and the exams. They also said that if this FIR list may be incomplete, any other FIR relating to the same incidents will also be quashed..."
