I strongly condemn the TN Government led by Vijay for arresting rap singer and my dear brother ‘Therukkural’ Arivu for speaking out against NEET. His voice reflects the sentiments and demands of not just Tamil Nadu, but millions of people across India. At a time when the CJP-led rallies and protests against #NEET are gaining momentum across the country, the TVK government has chosen to arrest Arivu. As long as it is the students who are protesting and their protest is against the irregularities and mishaps in the NEET exams, the protests are totally valid. But the moment fringe elements creep in with ulterior motives, neither the state nor the centre should remain silent, It needs to be curbed. The recent developments have only shown that apart from the campaigns against NEET, its is slowly turning into side campaigns against Article 370 abrogation, slogans chanting de*th of the Prime Minister and staging a Nepal types rebellion. It is obvious that someone else trying to hide behind the student campaigns and achieve their objective. People like Arivu who kept quite during the DMK Govt are now suddenly jumping in to protest at a place that is not allowed for protests. The TVK Govt was polite enough to even have a discussion with him when he actually went against the law. Hope the actual students group, centre and the state Govts see through this. #CJP #NEET #TVK #Vijay #CMVijay #BJP #Protest

It was a protest that was organically able to gather lakhs of people against the ban of Jallikattu. Those were the days when FM Radio was one of the favourite entertainment mediums and 'Love Guru' program used to a unique program every night. The host of the program Rajavel Nagarajan draws parallels between the Jallikattu protests then and the NEET protest now and how many fringe elements tried to hijack both the protests. Savukku Shankar and his family went through a series of inhuman treatments in broad daylight and no one uttered a word.
