HUD Secretary Scott Turner says too many young Americans are piling up massive debt chasing a college degree instead of doing what they are good at, like a trade: Pursuing a trade will avoid debt and help put young Americans on the path to a solid career and the American Dream faster. "They've been told they have to go to college. We have to change the paradigm. We need more trades, pumbers, welders, builders." "They have tremendous salaries that really would be a path to home ownership quicker than spending four years in college with debt."

The working class didn't fall for Zohran, college grads did. 57% of New Yorkers with a bachelor's degree or higher supported Mamdani, compared with only 39% of working class voters. Education, more than income, signals class because it shapes habits, networks, and outlook long after the degree is earned. Higher education encodes cultural capital: speech patterns, tastes, opinions, and expectations about life. Income can fluctuate across a lifetime; the worldview forged in selective institutions does not. By that standard, college college graduates—regardless of earnings—are not working class.

A ground where college is being run for the last 10 years or more have no campus, no students, but still hundreds of students pass every year. There are just 2 buildings and even locals are saying that there is no college. Imagine the scam level of BJP. This is why BJP should not be given chance to form govt continuously.

This is known as assortative mating: people tend to choose partners similar to themselves in education, politics, personality, and more. What young people rarely hear is that college isn’t just for studying or preparing for a job. It’s a rare environment filled with people your age, with similar interests and comparable academic backgrounds — a situation you may never experience again. Many graduates tell me they are surprised by how quickly their dating pool shrinks once they start working. Most colleagues are older, have families, or aren’t plausible partners. So toward the end of the piece, I argue that students should view college not only as a path to credentials, but also as one of the best places to meet a long-term partner.
