#emiamily #beonnnie TikTok live [260110] 🐰: Earlier, when eating, P'Mi got the hiccups, so I told her to say, "I'm a fish". 🦊: 😂 🐰: Did it work? Say it! 🦊: I said, "They're already gone" 😆 🐰: They really went away! 🦊: As soon as she told me to say, "I'm a fish", they went away. I didn't say it yet. 👩🏻: P'Mi said it in her heart 😆 🐰: Let me be clear that the words "I'm a fish" aren't meant to be said in your heart. You have to say it with confidence, with an inner like Poopeh Mai Preaw.* 🦊: I said, "Bonnie, I got them at Suvarnabhumi airport. You want me to shout that out there? That I'm a fish? Will immigration arrest me?" 🐰: No, when you say it, the first technique is that you can't laugh. You had to really believe it. 🦊: You have to believe? 🐰: You have to believe, you're an Actress. 🦊: Oh my god, my goodness. 🐰: 😂 🦊: 😂 🐰: You have to do method acting. 🦊: Method acting that I'm a fish. 🐰: You have to be a fish. And you know what, can fish hiccup? 🦊: They can't. 🐰: Correct! You have to manifest "I'm a fish!" And that'll end it. That'll solve it. This is a real thing. This is true, everyone, it's not fake news. 🐰: Some ppl have said, "I've tried it and it didn't work, are you fooling me?" I'm not, I'm not, it's a real thing. 🦊: My dad told me to drink water facedown. 👩🏻: Oh yeah, right right. 🦊: That works, that works. 🐰: But when you were hiccupping earlier and I told you to say "I'm a fish", you said it. Did it work? 🦊: I didn't say it 😆 🐰: You said it! 🦊: I said that they were gone! 🐰: They really went away! 🦊: They went away, as soon as she said that, I swallowed them down. 🐰: There's a moment where we're shocked that we're a fish and that's why... 🤣 🦊: Really? 🤣 🐰: It's a real thing! It might sound funny, but it's a real thing! 👩🏻: Where'd you get this from? 🦊: She thought it up herself. 🐰: I thought it up myself. 🦊: I knew it! 👩🏻: It's Bonnie's theory. 🐰: It's my own theory. My friend from uni hiccups often. 🦊: Oh! What's wrong with your friend? Do they need to see a doctor for hiccupping a lot? That's strange. Is there water flooding their lungs? 🐰: 🤣🤣🤣 🐰: No! But they use "I'm a fish" and it really works! They got the hiccups while at a mall and said it right there and the hiccups went away immediately. 🦊: Really? 🐰: They really went away! Or maybe it's bc they were shocked at all the ppl looking at them. 🦊: It wasn't them being shocked themselves, but other ppl being shocked at them 😆 🐰: It's real! Whoever's tried it and it worked, press 1. 💬: 00000000000. 🐰: 0 😂 🦊: It didn't work 😆 👩🏻: They say to hold your breath. 🐰: I'm not just making things up and rambling, I'm being serious 😆 🦊: Okay okay okay, I believe you. 🐰: This is for real. 🦊: You can get impact** from this. 💬: You have to say "soy milk is made from soybeans". 🦊: Ha? 👩🏻: Soy milk is made from soybeans. 🦊: Is it to confuse us so we forget that we're hiccupping? 👩🏻: So you focus on something else. 🐰: "I'm a fish" is easier than that! It's only three syllables. What's with the soy milk and soybeans. * ปูเป้ไม่เปรี้ยว (Poopeh Mai Preaw) is the TikTok content creator who popularised phrases like, คนดีห์ (my good one), หมับ (mhub), and bub (บั๊บ), and who Emi requested a video from: ** New slang that means "panic".

Some husbands offer flowers, bags or jewels... For my wonderful wife's birthday today, my present is: fish 😅 But not just any fish: a Malaysian Empurau, from the jungle rivers of Sarawak on the island of Borneo. The Empurau fish from Sarawak, whose name in Chinese - "忘不了" (wang bu liao) - means "unforgettable", is so special not only because it is rare, but because it's probably the only fish in the world which native diet consists of fermented fruits: fruits that fell from jungle trees down in the rivers where it lives. As such its meat has a subtle fruity sweet taste. It is also one of the only fishes in the world with edible scales: as you can read, one of the dishes prepared from the fish is "salt and pepper Empurau scales". Here in Kuala Lumpur we're paying RM 1,888 for 1 fish (about $430), which is actually a very good deal, these fishes often cost double or triple this price. It's more affordable in this restaurant (aptly named "unique seafood") because it's one of the only places in the country that sustainably raise empuraus in their own tanks. So not only it's cheaper but the fishes are much fresher too, and we're not depleting wild river populations. Verdict? According to my wife, who is a major foodie, it's the best birthday present she could have received 😊 And yes the fish truly is delicious, hands down the best fish I've had in my life (and I eat a LOT of fish): "unforgettable" is right! Sometimes the most memorable gifts aren't found in jewelry stores... they're swimming in the rivers of Borneo (or in our case, in the tanks of Unique Seafood restaurant). Happy birthday to the best wife in the world!
