12:40PM: Melissa is close to making landfall. You can see the mountains starting to disrupt the core of the storm. Frictional impacts of the wind hitting land. It would appear the eye is heading right for Montego Bay in a few hours from now. Kingston area thankfully as expecting far missing the extreme weather closer to the eyewall.

Super Typhoon Ragasa (NandoPH) has left the Babuyan Islands of the Philippines in darkness. Now, after finally weakening just below Category 5 intensity, this monstrous storm’s convection is suddenly re-freezing around his still-perfect, ~925 MBAR stadium eye over the South China Sea. With favorable conditions ahead, Ragasa could weaken very gradually and remain a major Typhoon by the time he makes landfall in southern China. However, the track will be important. The further south Ragasa trends, the more strength he’ll lose due to land interaction.

Definitely getting concerned about the storm surge threat in Baler Bay. Huge waves from Typhoon Fung-wong (UwanPH) are already crashing into the Aurora coastline of Luzon, and if the storm makes landfall just south of the bay, it could push a dangerous flow of seawater directly into Baler. Widespread reports are also indicating that substantial freshwater flash flooding is ongoing in multiple locations. Conditions across the northern Philippines will only continue to get worse from here on out.

The Philippines can’t catch a break in the wake of Typhoon Kalmaegi (TinoPH), because just as that system heads deeper into the Vietnamese jungle, a new leviathan has emerged from the depths of the Pacific. On the right side of this satellite loop is Tropical Storm Fung-wong, a sprawling embryonic cyclone in the Philippine Sea. She may be weak and disorganized now, but the environment ahead is going to be favorable for rapid intensification. The island of Luzon is her most likely target for landfall. Watch this one closely.

Really remarkable. Major Hurricane #Erick probably nearing Category 4 status overnight Wed-Thur AM. We won't know for sure until the next hurricane hunter recon flies in. Oaxaca going to take a rare landfall Thursday from a major hurricane. If you watch the loop the rugged terrain of the Sierra Madre Mountains may be pushing the storm unexpectedly due west now. If you are wondering, loosely and generally, but not always, a crazy busy Pacific means a quiet and tranquil Atlantic. Which is the case now.

I am almost sure that #Tampa, #Florida will be spared the worst of #hurricane #Milton and it appears very likely the storm may make landfall and a direct hit on #FortMyers. For most of the night Milton has been hugging the lowest level on National Hurricane Center's projected path (cone) or has wandered south of it a few times. Since then it has been pretty much following the lowest point of the cone right into Fort Myers. There is still a possibility it may track slightly south of there, just north of #Naples.

Millions of Indians live and work there, and a massive fan base of Rocking Star stands proudly in that region. For a film of this scale, the experience is meant to be shared together by fans across the world at the same time. When such a large section of our audience is facing tension and uncertainty, it only makes sense to wait for the right moment so everyone can celebrate the film together in theatres. This decision shows responsibility and respect for fans everywhere. Cinema is about bringing people together, and the goal is for every fan, whether in India, Dubai, or anywhere in the world, to enjoy the experience without worry. Real fans understand this. The celebration will be bigger when the time is right. 🔥

The 1st round of the Romanian presidential election takes place today 🇷🇴 🇷🇴 George Simion 🇲🇩, a nationalist ally of Călin Georgescu who won the 1st round in Nov. but had the vote cancelled by a court (& barred from running again) is forecasted to win with around 33% the votes. Ponta, Dan & Antonescu are all polling between 15%-25% and are fighting for the 2nd place which is will take one of them to a run-off against Simion. This Winter Storm will be NOTHING like last week’s storm❌ 🥶 Portions of the Carolinas will turn into SIBERIA on Saturday, as Hurricane Force Wind gusts and close to a FOOT of Snow fall at the same time. 🌀 Our Storm is what’s called a BOMB CYCLONE, meaning it is a rapidly strengthening Low Pressure System. 💨 Instead of a calm, steady Snow, conditions will be ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL inside the core of the storm as Blizzard like Snow and Wind WHIP around. 🌡️ On top of that, Temperatures will be Frigid, with Wind Chills close to 0. I’ll have another update later tonight, but right now this is looking like a BIG ONE for our Carolina brotheren. More to come my brotheren. 👊❄️

Samsung just added AirDrop support to Quick Share on the Galaxy S26. Google already did this on Pixel 10 last year. Now Samsung is doing it too. So Android and iPhone can now share files with each other natively. No apps. No cables. Rolling out from today. Korea gets it first. Then North America, Europe, Japan, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Only S26 series for now. More devices later. You have to turn it on manually in Quick Share settings though. Not on by default. Is this the feature that finally makes file sharing between Android and iPhone less painful?

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day feature the most impressive severe thunderstorm setup I’ve seen along the California coastline in at least a decade. The first round of isolated severe thunderstorms will come ashore tonight, bringing the threat of a isolated tornado and severe wind gusts over 60 mph from the Central Coast up to Humboldt County. The severe weather threat then expands into the Central Valley during the afternoon, California’s tornado alley, with the potential for isolated tornadoes, damaging winds, and even large hail. The threat then shifts south into Southern California tomorrow, where isolated severe wind gusts and a brief tornado will be possible. However, Christmas Eve into Christmas morning features the most potent severe weather environment of the week and could lead to a severe thunderstorm outbreak along the coastline from the Central Coast up to the North Coast. The combination of strong low-level and deep-layer shear with sufficient instability is rarely seen in this part of the world. I seriously cannot recall seeing Significant Tornado Parameter (STP) values exceed 3 along the California coastline. The peak threat window appears to be from 10 PM Thursday to 8 AM Friday. It would not be out of the question to see a Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued Christmas Eve night with the potential for a couple tornadoes and scattered severe wind gusts. I also believe this may be the first time on record that San Francisco has been placed under a Marginal Risk for severe thunderstorms in the Day 1–3 NWS Storm Prediction Center Convective Outlooks.
