last night I wrote a song in honor of Voddie and a life well lived: "GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT.” To me, Voddie was a personal friend and mentor. I can honestly say that I would not be the man I am today without his leadership. As a late teen, I learned of Voddie from a distance; his ministry equipped me with certainty that if ever I were to have children, that it is my responsibility-not the government's-to educate them. His ministry also initiated my journey as an independent researcher. I later got to have an actual friendship with Voddie. We spoke frequently and he would often text me funny memes, share articles and books I should read and give me feedback on things I was working on. Voddie lived a life that was unapologetically devoted to the Lord, and now he is with the Lord. I will see you again one day in glory, friend. Godspeed.

As prediction market betting becomes more prevalent in nearly every aspect of American culture, journalist and author David Hill says not everything needs to turn into a "betting proposition." "I don't think that it makes a lot of sense for us to want to turn every single proposition in American culture and life into a betting proposition," he told PBS News' Geoff Bennett. "But I do think there's clearly a market for it." Hill added that America needs to "reckon" with the rapid rise of prediction markets and put regulations around the industry to protect people and prevent "large-scale corruption." "There's real life-and-death stuff that's getting bet on that I think behooves the government to get involved and figure out how we can regulate what types of things people are allowed to, you know, predict," he said. "I think the notion that we're predicting is a little bit ridiculous. ... What people are essentially doing is gambling." I actually don’t think I ever thought that I would be able to make things at this scale. Sometimes with that scale I suppose it’s humorously glamorous, but also it’s sometimes not. There is still a human being at the center of it […] As a human being, like my work, I’m very contradictory. I can be unbelievably happy and confident, but I can also be really, really depressed and sad […] I love creating things, but sometimes that can be really painful to do that. It can be painful to make things especially I find more so in this day and age. That’s really confusing for me because I’ve put my entire identity into the things that I make […] I’ve invested so much of myself into the things that I make, emotionally. Instead, I view everything as a learning experience. Things that happen are interesting and informative and can tell you a lot about the various systems at play. That’s my view in general, and it’s also how I feel about the decisions that continue to raise the US debt.
