@cursor_ai I done a similar thing. And allow users to point at any element on the sim, drop a comment, and then send the comment to the agent

Still working out the details. If we add it to expo then ‘expo start’ will start a preview that can load in any editor. For Expo Agent, which is framework agnostic, I’m looking at supporting launch.json from vscode / claude. Right now, it’s just a one-liner that hosts the simulator.

@cursor_ai Having the iOS simulator directly embedded into the editor loop isn't just a gimmick; it completely eliminates context-switching friction. When AI agents can instantly interact with the simulator's view hierarchy for state verification, mobile development becomes absurdly fluid.

@cursor_ai Cursor catching up is great, but I'm more curious about the debugging story — hot reload and attach to simulator process in editor is still the missing piece. Xcode's still the only one that does it seamlessly.

@cursor_ai iOS simulator in the terminal closes the last gap. React Native devs have been context-switching between 3 tools for years. agent + terminal + native toolchain is a fundamentally tighter loop. great to see Cursor catching up.

iOS simulator integration in the editor is genuinely useful — being able to hot-reload and inspect without switching windows is a real workflow win. The real question is how it handles multi-scheme projects (e.g. dev vs staging targets). Does it pick up your existing xcconfig or needs manual setup?
