We will be impressed if you can match the original style from the 30s.

Impressive, though I still prefer frame by frame. But it looks really good for a rig.

You know, just the other day, a young kid asked me why they don't make hand animation anymore. I told her, "Because execs want everything done on a computer, but the public still hates 2D computer animation, so you won't see it again until AI figures out 'tweening."

@looneycritic What are u talking about? U def should investigate a bit more regarding animation tools. THIS IS NOT AI. I made it myself by hand, is a process called RIGGING, used to create 'bones' on images to animate them. I am against AI, my background is traditional 2D animation.

@looneycritic Some people just want to hate for no reason nor knowledge, your work looks amazing.

Trevor Thompson profil fotoğrafı
Trevor Thompson10 ay önce

@Jorgebompart3 It's not hate. Animation execs don't care if your talent is in hand drawn or rigging, they don't want to pay artists what they're worth so they'll use AI first. The question is if rigging (or even AI) gets indistinguishable from hand drawn, will it kill hand drawn for all time?

Jorgebompart profil fotoğrafı
Jorgebompart10 ay önce

@looneycritic @JorMorZ No because rigging is just a method, a tool, like a bad pencil or the best one. In the end the manual work or talent make the difference. Tech by itself can not do what a human artist does.

@JorMorZ Yeah, but execs call the shots, doc. And I wonder if we get to a point where rigging and hand drawn are indistinguishable from each other (to the untrained eye of course) if execs will still hire the hand drawn folks. History would suggest they'll do anything not to hire them.

Hello Jorge. one question, the talking also needs to be keyframed or there's a automated lipsync solver like in some other apps?

Jorgebompart profil fotoğrafı
Jorgebompart10 ay önce

No automation. The lipsync is hand animated like the traditional way.

Carl J. profil fotoğrafı
Carl J.10 ay önce

yes I know, my question was more about Spine, not about your animation. just wanted to know if that exist in Spine

Jorgebompart profil fotoğrafı
Jorgebompart10 ay önce

I said no. Spine does not have that function.

I had no idea you could make rigs that look like frame by frame. I love it when people take different approaches for one result. There's not a single fixed way of making something, and we all have our preferences, but every art should be appreciated.

I see the ears are controlled by a 2D physics sim. What factor changes the pose to face down/face the camera?
